Taking stage for the Microsoft keynote address at CES, Robbie Bach, president of the entertainment devices division at Microsoft, confidently announced that Vista and Games for Windows "will revitalise gaming" for the platform.
Bach explained that Games for Windows will benefit both the hardcore and casual gamer, and then introduced a video showcasing a line-up of Games for Windows titles, all of which can be controlled using the Xbox 360 controller.
Games featured in the video included Age of Empires III: The Warchiefs, Supreme Commander, Shadowrun, Alan Wake, Bioshock, Flight Simulator X, The Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar, World in Conflict, Hellgate: London, Company of Heroes, Lego Star Wars II, Age of Conan and Crysis.
Also shown was the much anticipated PC version of Halo 2 and a Games for Windows version of Xbox Live Arcade favourite Geometry Wars.
The much touted Live anywhere, that was announced back at E3 2006, has gone onto the operating table and is now known as the 'Live Games and Entertainment Network'. This service will enable PC and Xbox 360 gamers to play together, with games such as Shadowrun and UNO confirmed as cross-platform enabled titles when the service goes live in the summer.
Windows Vista is scheduled for release on January 30 and we're sure to hear much more on Vista/Xbox 360 cross platform gaming in the near future.

Remakes of the campaigns featured in Xbox Game Studios' Halo 2 and Halo 3 are currently in development, according to a new rumor.
That's Microsoft's gaming division for you...kill off developers making new ip while trying to capitalize off some long lost glory that has no hope of ever being what it once was thanks to recent decision making favoring unrealistic profit goals and greed. What a joke.
So what’s their solution to having multiplayer? Wait until Halo 7?
That was one of the most memorable parts of Halo..
Why not just port the MCC? 🤔 That was the easiest layup ever and you completely missed it
I wonder if Microsoft will port Reach over to Playstation I quite enjoyed that game. I played Halo 3 and it was not bad I have Halo 2 on the OG Xbox I just need some cables to hook up to my tv to play it.
Holger Frydrych has just released a cool VR Mod for the 2007 version of Crytek's first-person shooter, Crysis.
Playing it right now looks amazing! :D
so much fun, i hope they make a vr mod for crysis 2 / 3 too!
This is amazing. This is the direction VR should go in to boost adoption. Since I have beaten every Crysis except 1, this is now a good excuse to correct that problem.

According to Crytek CEO Cervat Yerli, "I want[ed] to make sure Crysis does not age, that [it] is future proofed, meaning that if I played it three years from now, it should look better than today." Yerli and the team designed Crysis' highest graphical settings for the PC hardware of 2010 and beyond.
While Crytek has officially announced Crysis 4 is in development, nothing new has surfaced. For now, gamers' only way to scratch that itch is to play the Crysis Remastered Trilogy available on PC and consoles.
OG 2007 Crysis (not the remastered weirdo), is & will forever be a legend amongst the PC community.
I mean the lighting and physics still hold up extremely well. I still revisit it from time to time.
I remember when I tried to play Crysis with my Intel Pentium Dual core E2200 @2.2GHz , 4GB ram and GeForce 9400gt. I was a kid back then and that was the best I could do. I would get about 15 to 20 fps. When I over clocked the CPU to 2.8GHz I would get about 40fps. The experience wasn't good at all and it was the only PC game I could not run back then unless and put the settings on low. At that point the game went from cutting edge graphics to PS2 graphics. To this day I haven't completed the OG Crysis. I was able to complete Crysis 2 and 3 after building a new PC when I got my first job.
For some games I could see the benefit of putting PC and console gamers together but FPS isn't one that springs to mind. I have a hunch PC gamers will dominate and people will avoid games with players from the other platform. I mean yeah it's great for a game that is played with a controller on both platforms, but if I were them I wouldn't be marketing this with FPS games.
