Because a lot of console gamers wanted it? I loved the game, but I haven't played it since I got rid of my 360.I'll gladly pick up a remaster, and the fact that it'll actually have some degree of mod support is an even bigger plus.

It's the 5th year anniversary of Skyrim. They did the same with Oblivion except it was just a game of the year with a better looking physical case and map.

I really wish Bethesda would hire someone to revamp the combat systems in their games, the worlds they create are really nice but the combat mechanics in games like Skyrim and Fallout 4 feel like they're from the early 90s :(

People who ask this are always saying they hate remasters, and then proceed to say a game they would like to see remastered.

You see, just because you've already played a game, doesn't mean everyone in the world has played it too.

I've played all Arkham and BioShock games, and yet I don't think it's wrong to release remasters of these games. They're just not for me and that's ok. I won't buy them. But they're great games and people who never experienced them will have a better way to do so, with better graphics, performance, a few tweaks and, most of all: they will work on current consoles.

Skyrim ran like sh*t on consoles. PC players had the best version of the game, so a PC remaster wasn't really necessary...but guess what? Bethesda will give it for free for current owners of the complete PC version. I don't see why the writer should complain about this. Just don't buy it.

I'm personally very interested in this version because I had the PS3 version (it ran terribly, so I didn't play it properly). I have the PC version, but somehow never got around to playing it. Now I have a better PC and will get it for free. So I'll play it remastered, with mods, and at no additional cost. What's wrong with that?

Because the only way for bethesda to stay an independent devoloper is they have to keep milking a franchise to the bitter end.

not to mention making half finished half broken games with ps2 animations that are a complete mess at release. Cheaper that way. Why spend the effort of spending the whole budget when you can rake in the profits before the game releases?

They also keep using their garbage failure of an engine to design said broken games. Why? Because licensing a real gaming engine made by competent coders will cut the profits of said game. thank god for the modders that do bethesdas job for them!

maybe when its next to free i'll pick it up for the easy albeit time consuming gamerscore ... but i just really cant justify many remasters in general let alone this which is just bethesda clearly being far too lazy to be working on the next TES game or any proper fallout 4 story dlc or anything of any real effort as of late... they are lucky they picked up good studios that are making games like prey and dishonored because beth themselves have been super lackluster especially with how poorly a lot of things related to fallout 4 turned out and where handled IMO

I would pay 60 for it again for mods. I have it onsteam, but trying to play with mods on PC was more of a chore for me. I spent more time optimizing andtrying to get everything on my computer to work correctly than I spent playing the game. Fallout 4 with mods on xbox has been different for me though. Playing Fallout 4, I just get my mods, and go play. Virtually no hassle

I've always been interested in playing this game so for me or others that have never played it, sounds like a good offering of content. I guess? Edit. By why not Morrowind or what that game was called on the original Xbox

Coming from a console gamer I played a TON of skryim on my 360 and would probably still play from time to time if I still could on my xbox one. The fact it has better graphics and mod support is honestly just a bonus a very welcome bonus but a bonus all the same. The fact is some people won't mind paying for this game like myself others like PC gamers have already had this +10 million times better. Skyrim is still fresh on peoples minds so adding it with mod support makes since. If they remastered oblivion or morrowind then we would have to wait even longer for TES 6. Can't we all just appreciate instead of hate :D

Look, let Bethesda think they they can charge full price for a remake, I will allow my logical thinking to allow me not to purchase it. No thanks Bethesda.

Because any home console gamers who jumped from 360 to PS4 are going to have a significantly upgraded experience.

I played skyrim on ps3 and had tons of fun. No game breaking bugs, nor big performance issues. Apart from longer loading times it was great. I was lucky I guess. Out of 4 Bethesda games I've played on ps3, only Fallout 3 was unplayable.
All in all, I'll be getting the remaster on ps4.

Morrowind will never be remastered. Move on.

It deserves it, they want to make some more money and it's unplayable on older consoles.

Tell me again how the multiplatform strategy was supposed to fix everything. Look at your results and compare them to Nintendo, which keeps thriving with exclusives. Your loyal fans are gone. And let’s not forget the pile of IPs you purchased only to let them rot.

The worst thing is this is down from last years numbers/expectations which was down from the previous years numbers/expectations. You think about how long “down” has been a consistent part of the communication and you realize those subscriptions are what’s holding that boat together. The price cut of gamespass is still a price raise in a string of price raises. They are trying to use players to offset the missing revenue. Now call of duty is out of gamespass, which is literally WHY they bought the company. To draw people to the subscription. They realized they missed a boatload of money and that wasn’t sustainable. Now you pay for it like you would have if they never bought the company… so why buy the company? Mind you those billions still need to be paid back. Yeah it gives you a chance to say we make the biggest FPS… but the internal conversations must be brutal at high level on topics that really matter. Like revenue. Profitability. And ROI for the shopping spree.

Wuchang is great. Nine Sols didn’t have a physical copy so I never played it but I’ve heard good things so I will check it out. I stopped playing sports games many years ago when before the card dlc’s or whatever they’re called.
