Uncharted 4's Ending Killed me Inside

Once the end credits of Uncharted 4: A Thief's End started to roll, that familiar feeling starts to conquer the pit of your stomach.

It was something that i glad the series ended in a big way. For me, i like subtle, profound and professional way of Uncharted 4. Same goes with MGS4, it also had similar tone to UC4. Solid Snake be able to had time with his family and Nathan Drake be able to do treasure hunting in legal way.

Never thought about it in that sense, very interesting take.

Jeez how I forgot about MGS4. Man, that still is one the most epic games that still looks good to this day.

TwoForce3615d ago

Yeah, i know right. Don't get me wrong, MGS 3 is the most critical acclaim and most fan favorite game. But MGS 4 is something else, it was personal, subtle and profound.

My favorite game in that series is still MGS 1. It had the best story in the series, followed by 3. It just became too convoluted, there were interesting story elements in MGS V but as a whole it didn't work for me. MGS 4 was good story wise - if still a bit too convoluted for my tastes.

As much praise as Kojima gets, if these were movies, he would not be so praised in the story telling department. His talent is in directing, not writing. I feel Death Stranding really showed that too. The editing, camera movements, compositions, sound all come together to make a beautiful trailer that hints at a great story but IMO the only story that has so far come close to being true quality in the world of fiction was the story in MGS 1. I hope Death Stranding has a great story to go with that great directing.

TwoForce3615d ago

Well, that was true. But when Snake had Otacon and other people with him. They want him to join them as a family. Solid Snake will never be alone anymore.

Sunny_D3615d ago

The ending gave me a feeling of satisfaction where after all these years of going on ladventures woth Nate, the story was finally complete. Many people probably felt that way for when the Star Wars saga was completed as well. But, now we have the new Star Wars movies coming out lol. This just means that Sony can continue the Uncharted series in the same way.

Zorkaz3615d ago

I honestly felt exactly the same way. Mind you, at least it didn't tear a massive hole in my soul like The Last of Us.

psplova3615d ago

I enjoyed it a lot. It was one of the best endings I've seen in a videogame, personally. All that said, I still think about how awesome a new uncharted game would look going forward each generation and it makes me wonder if I really want it all to end... : /

***Spoiler Alert***

I would've liked to have seen Sam and Sully arrive at the end and come in cracking jokes as they walk off towards the sailboat, and you hear their conversation fade out as they tease Drake while he's telling his daughter his version about their adventures. Everybody together for the end. Yeah it's a cheesy feel good ending, but in life nowadays I don't think feelgood is a bad thing.
