With RE7 virtually unrecognisable, Zach discusses how Resident Evil is more than a series going back to its roots

WTMG's Leo Faria: "It’s been nearly ten years, but Resident Evil 7 hasn’t aged a day. Its brand new Switch 2 port not only showcases that its gameplay is still fresh and tense after all these years, but also showcases how well Nintendo’s portable can handle some of the more demanding games from the previous generation, with a handful of improvements to make it look as good as its current-gen counterparts. There’s also the fact there’s a ton of extra content for you to enjoy, from videos to entire new modes and side campaigns, so this is a worthy inclusion to the Switch 2’s currently minute library, and a great excuse for you to replay one of the most important horror games released in recent memory."

Resident Evil 7: Biohazard returns the series to its horror roots, and on the Nintendo Switch 2, you can take those frights everywhere.
Capcom is bringing both Resident Evil 7 and Resident Evil Village to Nintendo Switch next month, and now gameplay has surfaced of both titles running on the hardware. The latest episode of Capcom TV aired this week. During the show, extensive footage of both titles was shown. This is the first time we’ve seen gameplay of the ports.

Smooth gameplay already! So excited for my Generation Pack pre-order. I already platinum RE7 on PS5, but I don't have the chance to play Village.
By the way, the RE7 and RE8 included in Generation Pack are both the Gold Editions.
obviously ...RE 7 is even more alien than RE4,5,6...
imo they try to appeal to a completely different audience alienating completely the original RE fans...at the start may have some hyped/curiosity sales ..but a sequel or even this game will be a total flop, as its already a bad copy of PT/Outlast cutting every relation from any RE succesful formula....
if i had to choose this abomination or a RE6/5/same-type-sequel, i would pick Re5/6/same sequel anytime
I'd be a cool addition as a spin-off but I just don't see the logic in making it Resident Evil 7, it's great they took fan's criticism of 5 and 6 to heart but going off in completely the opposite direction and taking it to the extreme is a very risky move. I'd understand it a bit more if they decided to reboot the franchise and went "hey this is our new vision for RE" and I'd even be excited at the future possibilities but calling it RE7 just doesn't seem right.
Can someone please tell me if the the full game is supposed to be a much bigger, meatier kind of game with better graphics?. Is the demo just a sort of concept teaser or something?.
I definitely don't like the change to the first person perspective.
And if it becomes a "hide and seek" type of game (like Outlast and Alien Isolation where you can barely fight back), I'll probably never play it. That's not what I look for in a RE game.
I may be in the minority here but I cannot wait for RE7. The demo was absolutely terrifying, and with the horror scene over-indulged at the moment, it did feel quite refreshing. I am an original Resi fan, but sometimes a long-loved series has to take a different form. Similar to Tomb Raider being upheaved? Anyway, just my humble two cents.
