I'm not in the target audience for Xbox when it comes to exclusive software. The PS conference offered the kind of software that fits my taste in gaming.

lelo2play3620d ago

My rating for each conference, would be:

Sony 9,5 out of 10
Microsoft 7 out of 10
EA and Bethesda 5,5 out of 10
PC conference 3 out of 10
Nintendo conference (or treehouse or other stupid name for their conference)... does anybody care?

Neonridr3620d ago

watch Zelda win best of E3

darthv723620d ago

I'm taking the neutral position and saying the gamers won and their wallets lost. Lots of good stuff all around.

kickerz3620d ago

I think Sony 9 Microsoft 8 and I'm an Xbox gamer. Sony had more exciting games. Xbox conference was lacking in the games department, they just needed 2 or 3 more exciting exclusives and less mine craft talk. The new features and hardware was awesome though. All in all its a really good time to be a gamer.especially with vr on the horizon.

jessionpc3620d ago

Yea that's where I'm at.

Sony was close to perfection, if they would have dropped FF7/Persona 5 or a Silent Hills for me it would have been 10/10 hands down.

I'm HAPPY they didn't announce Neo, now they can focus on making adjustments if they need to, to REALLY deliver competition to the Scorpio next year.

At 4ish Tflops, the neo couldn't have possibly been a 4k console... Likely just a 1080p/maybe 60 fps garantee later on while the ps4 drops to 720 as the years go by. Now they are likely going to change the neo into a 4k machine.

Well, only time will tell.

M$'s conference was okay... State of Decay 2 and Forza looked really good... But meh..

-Foxtrot3620d ago

Zelda looked good but definitely not best of E3

Main criticism for me was how lifeless the world looked for being open world

freshslicepizza3620d ago (Edited 3620d ago )

@Herbalistic
"I'm not in the target audience for Xbox when it comes to exclusive software. The PS conference offered the kind of software that fits my taste in gaming."

amazing how sony targets 'different' gamers. those who like games such as street fighter but not killer instinc. games like gran turismo but not forza. or others like days gone but not state of decay 2. meanwhile in the real world ps4 owners have about 90% of the same game library as the xbox. it's not really about different taste, its called brand loyalty.

sony e3 - 7
microsoft - 6
nintendo - 4

LOL_WUT3620d ago

Sony won hands down and Microsofts conference was enjoyable. Nintendo didn't even come close. They took forever to show the Zelda gameplay by showing off Pokemon it was unbearable. I don't think anyone stayed to watch the whole thing ;)

r2oB3620d ago

@ moldy

But don't you think brand loyalty stems from somewhere? You are correct that most of the games library is the same between the two consoles, but that's because of multiplats. Taking into consideration exclusives, which is was he was referring to, there is a rather large disparity from what the two consoles offer. You made comparison between some of the games, but what about the rest? What exclsuive did Microsoft show that's comparable in style to TLG, GoW4, Horizon, and Detroit? How does Microsoft target gamers that like those types of games? Sony even has games that were not shown at the press conference that have a target audience that Microsoft does not release games for. As for Microsoft, the games that I can think of that would target an audience that Sony has no counter for is Sea of Thieves (and that's because I do not even know the primary focus of Sea of Thieves besides it being a very social experience), Halo Wars 2, and Forza Horizon 3.

On topic: Sony had the better conference by a long shot, and it had a very unique approach in regards to the "normal" E3 conference. I rather liked it.

freshslicepizza3620d ago (Edited 3620d ago )

@r2oB
"But don't you think brand loyalty stems from somewhere?"

of course i do and not once will i ever say the playstation is a bad brand. in fact they earned being the best brand out there by capitalizing on nintendo's dictatorship and lack of openess. microsoft really has no hole to pick at in sony's arsenal other than the early days of online gaming which is now not even a selling point for xbox live over psn. i would dare say the two platforms are very alike which probably explains why the two fan camps act worlds apart to try and distance themselves for no real reason other than to treat them as rivals.

"You are correct that most of the games library is the same between the two consoles, but that's because of multiplats."

and software sales suggest that's what is leading the charge on consoles. nintendo has the biggest ip's out ther yet they only managed to sell 12 million units.

"Taking into consideration exclusives, which is was he was referring to, there is a rather large disparity from what the two consoles offer."

not really when you actually break it all down.

"You made comparison between some of the games, but what about the rest? What exclsuive did Microsoft show that's comparable in style to TLG, GoW4, Horizon, and Detroit?"

scalebound, recore, sea of thieves, cuphead, we happy few, state of decay 2. those games seem to vary genres but yes you are right, sony does diversify more but in reality those are very few games in the large scheme of things and the total library. the real diversity actually comes from japan only because they will never support the xbox platform which means the playstation will get the bulk of those games that don't market as well in the west. this is more about regional support, not so much so about suggesting north american playstation gamers are vastly different than north american xbox gamers.

"How does Microsoft target gamers that like those types of games? Sony even has games that were not shown at the press conference that have a target audience that Microsoft does not release games for. As for Microsoft, the games that I can think of that would target an audience that Sony has no counter for is Sea of Thieves (and that's because I do not even know the primary focus of Sea of Thieves besides it being a very social experience), Halo Wars 2, and Forza Horizon 3."

what i am highlighting is what exactly makes gamers different? the pc has the largest diversity out there but many of those games go unnoticed. i am mocking those who keep talking about games like gt yet crap on forza. or keep saying how a game like days gone looks great yet won't even support games like state of decay. we have seen this before when the playstation used to have exclusive games like tekken and devil may cry, now they are on both platforms but you want to tell me again how playstation gamers are more unique as sony now gets marketing dibs with call of duty? nothing has changed, brand loyaty is just as strong as ever if not more so.

there are very few games that are actually marketable each year that differenciates the two sytstems.

BattleAxe3620d ago

@ Moldy

Great posts! It's too bad more people on N4G don't have common sense like this.

GameNameFame3620d ago

Sony: these are reason why you should buy ps4.
MS: here is why you don't need xbox one.

rainslacker3619d ago (Edited 3619d ago )

@darth

While I won't remain neutral, I can say that most gamers probably can say they are the winners this year. EA and Ubi were kind of a drag, but Sony and MS had great conferences with great games, and that's what we want from E3.

Personally, I think Sony "won" as they had an exceptional conference, if not the best E3 showing I've ever seen. However, I think both conferences were great. MS actually showed twice as many games, although the numbers were bolstered by a sizzle reel of indies.

rainslacker3619d ago

@Moldy

Thing is, despite MS now offering much better variety of exclusives through 2nd party partnerships, it still takes time to build the brand loyalty your talking about. Last gen, MS started off with the variety with 3rd party exclusive games(bit different than 2nd party where they funded the games), and at that time, that's where they were getting more people to the brand. Then they kind of dropped that for Kinect, and lost a lot of the good will that was gained by getting more people to the brand.

In this case, it's more that MS track record is inconsistent, rather than the fact they don't have the variety. While I don't think they're anywhere near as diverse as Sony on the exclusive front, and you are right, a lot of that has to do with Japan support(1st or 3rd party), the fact remains is that from Sony, they still have more offerings in the variety department for 1st and 2nd party games.

Sony I think gets more recognition for it because they often highlight this variety, whereas MS tends to focus on more singular titles to try and state, "We have variety". While over time, this will build more brand loyalty, and people will start to see the Xbox as something more diverse, the overall perception I think most people have is that MS tends to be rather narrowly focused on particular types of games....which they are in their 1st party offerings. Building the kind of brand loyalty that you and r2ob are talking about takes time and consistency, and so long as MS keeps doing what they're doing, they'll gain the brand loyalty from more people.

In the mean time, it doesn't help to keep saying that people are just ignoring Xbox offerings in an attempt to highlight the variety, because MS itself isn't doing that enough to get people's interest. The variety seems more secondary to their overall approach to software diversity, as opposed to the diversity being a core aspect of their product portfolio....as is the case with Sony.

Nitrowolf23620d ago (Edited 3620d ago )

To me it was Sony.

Reason is obvious, but the meaning behind it is more than just showing games. It told me the company, despite having a new console, didn't bother to mention it and focused on what we have now and what we will be getting this October. They assured gamers by presenting games and showing off support of it's current system

I don't own an Xbox, some of the games like Scalebound interests me. I have a PC rig, but I prefer console gaming. Microsoft came with their presentation, showed off games, but as someone who doesn't own an xbox, I don't see why I should buy an Xbox One when Scorpio out Holiday next year. I know some people enjoy what they showed, and I really want Forza, but for me its been three years and Microsoft yet to gauge my interest in their current console and announcing Scorpio just tells me I should wait. The same argument though of course could work the other way around.

The thing is, Sony didn't do it this E3, and will probably do it later this year, but this conference shows they have confidence in their current model.

Also, I think Sony and Santa Monica had some Huge balls showing God of War in it's current state. Why? Not that it looked awful or anything, because it's looked absolutely stunning, but because they took a HUGE risk in changing it. After 6 games though, this is what the series needed, a Major change up. Throughout the entire series it has always been the same gameplay with new weapons, and although all enjoyable, they really didn't feel like they were evolving the series. I know a lot of games out there would be crucified if they pulled something like this, but God of War really did need a change and this new direction is looking well executed. There's still more left unknown and I look forward to seeing it

freshslicepizza3619d ago (Edited 3619d ago )

sony doesn't have total confidence in their current model, which is why they are going to talk about neo later this year and probably release it this year. unlike microsoft they have psvr to sell so they dont really want to talk about neo right now.

what sony does better than microsoft is nurture its studios and allow more freedom. i do think this will change with phil spencer now at the helm as seen with games like sea of thieves from rare. another thing microsoft is more guilty of is dropping ip's or even studios if they are not big commercial hits. it really is something that spreads throughout the entire industry with the aaa market. now we see microsoft invest in more risk games like ori and cuphead, that's where i see them investing in new ideas whereas sony will get games like horizon and detroit out there with full aaa market support on new ip's. microsoft takes less risks by collabortaing with other developers much more than building in house studios.

i also predict scalebound and recore will be flops but i am hoping sea of thieves will be a big game for them. scopio is not going to stall xbox one sales because it is still over a year away and likely to be a lot more money (probably $499). announcing ps4 neo isn't going to stop ps4 sales either. personally i think the reason why microsoft announced it was to put a big damper on neo's plans and to tell sony they are not going away but are ready to up the ante. it will totally screw sony's future plans now because sony was hoping neo would allow them to coast for another 3 years. by also saying its totally backwards with xbox one means gamers dont have to fear its the new generation because it will share the same games just like what occurs on the pc market. announcing the new greatest gpu doesn't mean current pc gamers have to upgrade.

Rookie_Monster3620d ago (Edited 3620d ago )

Xbox won. Hands down. The one two punch of the Slim and Scorpio kills it.

"Play anywhere" "no one gets left behind" "XB1 slim with 4k blu ray player" "the 6tflop Scorpio" won MS E3. Sony's up against a wall. Release PlayStation Neo this year and get left behind next year, or delay it and let Xbox One S be THE 4K Blu Ray player this Xmas. Well played Phil and Team Xbox, well played.

pyroado3620d ago

Lol why even bother? Instead of using your cash on scorpio you can build yourself a high quality PC seeing as every xbox game will be on windows as well so whats the point? You already would have your scorpio right there.

Rookie_Monster3620d ago (Edited 3620d ago )

@Pyroado,

I already have a gaming rig. I just want to play console exclusive third party games with the highest specs from Red Dead Redemption 2 to Destiny 2. Scorpio is the answer for me.

Also, able to share my elite controllers, VR headset, and now games across both my PC and the most powerful console ever with one purchase is a no brainer. Day one!

I've now decided to just keep my PS4 for PS4 exclusives and use my new Xbox One Slim for my first UHD Blu Ray player as well as $299 for a Blu Ray UHD player with an awesone game console all in one is a no brainer. Day one as well.

Doabarrelroll3620d ago

Lol of course rookie said MS won e3 what a surprise

Sparta073620d ago

@ rookie, there are no exclusives on Xbox anymore just play on your magic gaming rig.
"Xbox won. Hands down. The one two punch of the Slim and Scorpio kills it." Lmao... Yeah ok.

magiciandude3620d ago

Well played MS for playing their cards right this time! By far the most powerful console to date, the best features, the best games, the best variety of games etc. MS is making a huge huge HUGE comeback!

r2oB3620d ago

@ rookiemonster

None of what you mentioned offers additional benefits to current Xbox One owners. "Play anywhere is a benefit for Windows 10 and a means to get PC gamers on board with Microsoft. "No one gets left behind" is a joke; all its saying is that Xbox One gamers are going to be able to continue to play games being released for the Xbox One. You don't say. It's just a way to reassure gamers that the upgraded versions won't mean abandonment (which was obvious, and most people already know the upgraded consoles won't alienate the original consoles). "Xbox Slim with 4K blu ray player" doesn't help current Xbox One owners, not to mention is not a game related feature (do we really need to go down that road again). The Scorpio, although a nice announcement and promising console, doesn't help current Xbox One owners.

As a current Xbox One owner, you know what would have made Microsofts conference more appealing? More new game announcements for my console. State of Decay 2 and Dead Rising 4 (not interested in) were nice, new announcements. But what else was there?

CaptainObvious8783620d ago

You're not making any sense rookie.

If you have a gaming rig, you already have the ability to play 3rd party games at the highest settings.

Also, if you're so concerned about owning the most powerful console, why haven't you bought a PS4? We all know you don't have one.

Magnes3619d ago (Edited 3619d ago )

How predictable in the face of overwhelming opinions that sony clearly had the best showing not that MS was bad. Rookie doesn't even say in my opinion or for my taste no, it's "Xbox won. Hands down." But I'm sure you will be back trying to convince everyone you own a ps4 which why even bother your an Xbox fanboy own it be proud fanboy it up, wait you already do.

rainslacker3619d ago (Edited 3619d ago )

It's sad that new hardware...one being a slim model, is more "killing it" than the games shown. I mean, both MS and Sony had great games to show. MS had plenty that could be said to be great showing for your useless opinions. Yet you decide to stick to hardware?

Does that hardware make the games better beyond the superficial? Does the 6TF remove the excessive banter of your squad mates in GeOW? Does that 6TF make that kid in Scalebound to stop acting like an annoying tool? Will that 6TF keep those annoying "gamers" away from me in Sea of Thieves? Will that 6TF mean anything for the numerous indie games they showed? Will it make their most interesting game(We Happy Few) be any different?

No, it's just hardware. It's either more aesthetically pleasing and more efficient, or more powerful to play games we could play otherwise, or games we know nothing about.

Play anywhere is really, "play on Windows 10". PSNow is more play anywhere than MS solution, only difference is it's not streamed. You don't like PSNow though, do you? I mean, the only difference between the two is that one is streamed, and one isn't. Prices are going to be the same between the two. It's a cross buy solution, and I don't recall anyone claiming cross buy on the PS systems was a win for Sony, just a nice feature to have....which sadly, did go under implemented. Wonder how many 3rd party games will see that kind of implementation going forward for MS....or if it will just be for MS published games.

4K UHD is great. It'll probably move some consoles if they have it at $300. But it'll be short lived, because in all likelihood, when the new wave of 4K UHD players come out in a few months, the stand alones will be less than that, so the benefits Sony gained from that kind of implementation in prior consoles is lost. Oh, and rumors suggest Sony will have a more powerful Neo console with that feature, and likely the base version will get that revision as well coming up with a PS4 "slim". But, yeah, 4K UHD, another feature that isn't about games.

New hardware is hardly a killshot to Sony or anyone else.

I'd also like to point out, MS doesn't have the best track record of supporting older hardware...or even software for that matter. It's actually a major criticism thrown at them by many in and out of gaming. I can't imagine why any knowledgeable X1 owner would be excited for new hardware, because if they keep track, they have to know their days are numbered.

It's just how MS rolls, and I don't see it changing just because Phil says, "no gamer left behind". Tell that to all the gamers who have had to upgrade windows numerous times just to get the latest version of DX. Tell that to the OGXbox purchasers. Tell that to 360 owners. Tell that to any number of businesses who are forced into upgrading to get continued support in windows or office if they want support and updates.

Sorry, but MS made their own reputation, now they have to prove they have changed. I'm not one to take them at their word when it comes to "continued support".

ziggurcat3619d ago (Edited 3619d ago )

No, rookie... you don't "win" E3 when you haven't shown a single new game - all of the games shown during their presentation were already announced games, and were been known to exist for up to 2 years. the slim model, and scorpio are both really great things, but that alone wasn't enough for MS to have pulled out the proverbial victory.

but hey... at least you've finally let your true self come out - no more pretending to be neutral! how does it feel?

edit: and regarding play third party titles on scorpio - what if the neo ends up being on par or more powerful? because i'm fairly certain that you're just going to say you're getting those third party games on PC instead of neo.

MS won E3 with

-A reveal of their next groundbreaking console or I mean a mini supercomputer right in your own living room!
-Xbox Won S with 4K UHD BluRay and 4K content up scaling!
-AAAA games!
-The best franchises ever known to man!
-Custom controllers!
-Phil Spencer!!!!!

But IMO Sony did great with GoW, Horizon, and Spider Man. OMG exciting times for both Xbox Scorpio and PS4 Neo future owners!

Rookie_Monster3620d ago (Edited 3620d ago )

Great minds think alike. I totally agreed 1000% with your post.

I like Sony conference too and can't wait for the new GOW and the Spiderman game but the PSVR showing was underwelming.

MS had the greater impact announcements in Scorpio and The Slim and play Anywhere initiative. This tops the Backward compatible megaton of last year.

CaptainObvious8783620d ago (Edited 3620d ago )

Poe's law in action.

Can't tell if this guy is pretending, trying to make MS fans look really bad, or a really really brain washed MS fan.

Me personally, I'm a simple man. I watch a game conference for the, wait for it......games.

MS new game announcements: 2

Sony new game announcements: I lost count.

rainslacker3619d ago (Edited 3619d ago )

Is phil spencer available for purchase? I didn't realize he was selling himself to the consumer. Does he clean windows? Didn't really know Spencer was listed as a feature or selling point for anything at the conference. Didn't know MS was in the business of pimping out their executives.

No contest Sony came in and slaughtered MS game after game.MS didnt have one single "Wow"moment.

Aloy-Boyfriend3620d ago

Scorpio was the only wow moment but not by much. I like how positive the audience reacted to it. Looks like they will embrace this console upgrade idea.

Neonridr3620d ago

Forza Horizon 3 actually looked really good.

Erik73573620d ago (Edited 3620d ago )

"wow...I get a constricted high end gaming pc...wow"

lmao , and it makes it worse when every xbox exclusive is on pc AND YOU CAN CROSS PLAY WITH XBOX GAMERS so why even bother with going with Scorpio when you already have a scorpio for those xbox games, and its called PC.

Like does no one see that? Its not hard.... you already have your xbox scorpio it just doesn't have the xbox logo on it and it doesn't charge you to play online.

And i'm not trolling i'm being dead serious in saying that!

robtion3620d ago

“Scorpio! He'll sting you with his dreams of power and wealth. Beware of Scorpio! His twisted twin obsessions are his plot to rule the world, and his employees' health. He'll welcome you into his lair, like the nobleman welcomes his guest. With free dental care and a stock plan that helps you invest! But beware of his generous pensions, plus three weeks paid vacation each year. And on Fridays the lunchroom serves hot dogs and burgers and beer! He loves German beer!”

DialgaMarine3620d ago

I can't lie, Sea of Thieves caught my attention, but that was about it. Nothing else really screamed GO BUY A XBONE NOW! I still preordered a XBone S, seeing as I don't own a XBone yet, but I really don't see myself looking forward to much more than Gears 4 this year. Sadly, the demo for that was kind of crappy...

thejigisup3620d ago

what do you mean MS didn't have a single "wow" moment? The whole conference was wow, like wow they really think this was good enough, wow minecraft, wow product we wont touch for over a year but lets also show a smaller version of a product thats doing pretty good just not great, wow games that are kinda meh, wow pc, yeah i was in shock the whole time.

rainslacker3619d ago (Edited 3619d ago )

I think some of their wow moments were mitigated due to the leaks leading up to E3....and of course all the new hardware rumors. Beyond that, the wow moments didn't happen, because the big games they showed weren't really new to us...rumor, leak, or otherwise, and I feel the big game showings didn't really pack much of a punch in their presentation. Some looked pretty good, but all of them kind of fell flat.

Felt Scalebound had the best game play, but the wow was kind of ruined by the kid talking. We happy few was pretty "wow" in a different way, but kind of didn't really show you what kind of game it was once it got interesting...but was creepily charming. Beyond that, I felt GeOW(probably what they wanted to have the most wow), really came up short. Kind of generic 3rd person cover shooter really, and had a pretty slow pace without much to show....and annoying banter. Sea of thieves could have been wow if they didn't use "gamers" to showcase the game play. Probably the worst game play reveal I've ever seen for what looked like a fun game.

Seen many people state they have some favorite moments at the Sony conference, but don't really see a lot of people, xbox fans included, stating what games made the highlights for them. Heck, Rookie above only listed new hardware as "wow"....so can't say that MS really had an impressive showing, despite having a well paced and solid conference with plenty to show.

Neonridr3620d ago (Edited 3620d ago )

They both showed off a bunch of games. Sony's games seemed to appeal to me more, but that doesn't mean that some of the Xbox games shown didn't look great. Forza Horizon 3 in particular looked very impressive.

But I'm amped up for PSVR this fall, so I am looking forward to trying out some of those new VR experiences.

Only drawback was a LOT of the Sony games shown don't have release dates yet. Not much first party software this holiday season again.. Last Guardian doesn't interest me.

Letthewookiewin3620d ago (Edited 3620d ago )

And every game MS showed was from last year with a pathetic looking future so it goes both ways. But I'm sure Scorpio will play Spider-Man perfectly....

Neonridr3620d ago

why is it that MS failed but Sony was so awesome? they both showed some great looking games.

ASBO-53620d ago

thejigisup3620d ago

smh the scorpio at least will upscale the trailer for spiderman, so...yeah

rainslacker3619d ago (Edited 3619d ago )

@thejig

So will one's 4K TV too. No Xbox needed.:)

Probably worth mentioning that higher quality 4K TV's will probably upscale better than the consoles will. Upscaling is required for all content on LED/LCD style TVs in order to fill the screen, and Samsung, LG, and Sony 4K TV's all have pretty high quality upscalers in them. I tested this myself using some testing software I wrote at my job, and using my work PC(notebook with special hardware to do such things) at home connected to my samsung TV. Test pattens always came back better using the TV uscaler. Monitors are different though, and typically better to not upscale.

It was the manufacturer that showed 7 games with a release date in the next 9 months...MS, (just 1 game in development)

Sony showed 5 games in development and 3 with a release date.

Rimeskeem3620d ago

7 games?

CaptainObvious8783619d ago (Edited 3619d ago )

For me, Foe

It was the manufacturer that showed NEW games that weren't previously announced, instead of filling their show almost entirely with games that were already shown at the E3 the year before.

Would you like to talk about how long all those MS games have been in development? You really wanna go down that road, Foe?

Foehammer3619d ago

Please do

Start with The Last Guardian and then move to Agent.

At the MS 2015 E3 Phil pointed out was was coming that year (90 % of the conference) and what was coming later.

rainslacker3619d ago (Edited 3619d ago )

I'll just put this here.

http://n4g.com/comments/red...

Basic jist, Sony showed 7 games releasing this year...4 of which are exclusive, and 2 for early next year, one exclusive, and one exclusive if you consider RE:VR exclusive...although game itself is multi-plat. Rest are probable 2017 releases, and only 4 had indeterminate release dates through speculation or otherwise. I have one for MS as well.

I'd rather this hyperbolic random number generation of what the release dates were just end now....even though I'm sure you and others will qualify it to somehow meet your agenda...also known as goal post moving.

Just because the release date wasn't stated at the conference doesn't mean they are far in the future. I know google is a foreign word to you though.

I did one for MS if you wish to use it for your arguments. Your welcome for the free research.

CaptainObvious8783619d ago

Sigh...

Doubling down on your fanboyism I see. Very well.

No, let's start with MS games, since you're the one putting forth the complaint before looking at all the facts and making yourself look utterly stupid.

Gears4 announced E3 2015 - releasing Oct 2016
1.5 years from announcement til release
(but MS bought the IP back in Jan 2014, so we'll know it was coming for almost 3 years when it finally releases)

Sea of thieves announced E3 2015 - releasing 2016
At least 1.5 years from announcement til release. (could be delayed)

Scalebound announced E3 2014 - releasing 2017
3 years from announcement til release

Recore announced E3 2015 - releasing 2016
1.5 years from announcement til release

Shall I continue? You want to quadruple down on your fanboy logic?

At least when sony fanboys make arrogant statements it's based on facts and reasonable logic. The stupidity and deliberate intellectual dishonesty from ms fanboys is just beyond the pale.

Foehammer3619d ago (Edited 3619d ago )

Well done

I see a lot of "1.5 years"

But where is the list for Sony?

TLG; 2006

How about Agent; 2007

I think it's obvious the 2 companies have a different agenda; one shows games that a consumer can play soon (months) after they purchase the console.

The other shows mostly games that the consumer will wait years to play.

Peter Moore said it best in 2007 after Geoff Kneightly (after interviewing Jack Tretton) asked what MS had coming out in 2008; Peter Moore fired back in a disgusted tone:

"It's easy to promise the future, before I tell you about what's coming in 2008 lets talk about what ppl will be playing this year"

It's clear the approach each company takes has not changed since that interview.

Everyone knows games are being worked on for years down the road; but I prefer the more genuine approach of showing ppl what's coming in the short term; and 7 of MS games from the show are out within 9 months.

Well I don't know about you Foe, but I've been playing quite a few exclusives this year already and there's still a lot to be released this year and of course more for next year.

But I never said Sony doesn't have long periods between announcement and release. I just pointed out the silliness of complaining about this concerning Sony when MS is doing the exact same thing.

I'm not sure what MS agenda is by barely announcing any new games at E3 this year, but from where I'm sitting Sony has an agenda of supporting their system with games, guns blazing. Sure I'll be waiting a while for those games, but in the mean time they are still releasing A LOT more exclusives than MS.

Foehammer3619d ago

I think MS agenda is very clear:

Buy this console and play these games

not

Buy this console and these games will come in a couple years. if all goes well.

CaptainObvious8783619d ago

Do you have a thinking problem, Foe?

Tell me how many console exclusives MS have released this year?

Then tell me how many TRUE exclusives Sony have released this year?

You see a little difference there?

Microsoft with the amazing news that all games are coming to PC. Now I can sell my Xbox and get a PS4 next year. Holding out to see what Sony does with Neo. Hopefully by this time next year in rocking the best of 4 worlds setup with Win 10, PS4, PS2 and 360.

I'm an idiot. I didn't take into account that I don't have a 4K TV. So 4k tv, neo, games, accessories and psn could cost me $2k. Tv is $1k, neo is probably $600, good headset is around $100, psn is $50, some games and tax will definitely cost close to $2000. I can't spend that type of money especially when I'm upgrading my GPU in 2018 and getting 2 4k monitors since I prefer PC. Looks like I'm getting the uncharted bundle on black Friday after all.

Should of sold your xbox sooner. I sold mine a weeks before this conference cause I knew they were gonna do this, the value has gone down so much for it now after this conference and with the 299 dollar xbox slim thing doesn't help you.

crazychris41243620d ago

Im selling it to my best friend most likely next month. Should get enough to cover the PS4 then everything else comes out of pocket.

Dabigkahuna763620d ago

Yeah right you make no sense I guess you trying to say since Microsoft bringing some games to Windows why would anyone need a Xbox One

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Jingsing13d ago

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Tanktopmaster9213d ago

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit13d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing13d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9213d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
