The Xbox was more powerful than PS2. Power doesn't mean everything.

Scorpio, is a new console. They're going to start from square one, in my opinion with the beefy specs It's definitely a good stepping stone. Next thing they need is a good lineup and a affordable price pref under £400.

It's like phones , ever year you will get a small upgraded version with some new things. Every 2 or 3 years a more powerful upgrade machine ... If people payed attention , they would see that the Xbox one name was not mentioned. It was simple Xbox and Windows 10 exclusive , and the Xbox one mobile app has been updated to Xbox ... Basically Xbox one is being rebranded as simply Xbox and this Is part of the PC gaming family now ... Its like a low end PC now

4k and VR? obviously what hardcore gamers want. They don't care about quality video games. Sony and Microsoft are wasting so much valuable time. These console extentions will sell but they aren't paying attention to the hardcore gamers at all.

I think that the new xbox and PlayStation will be powerful enough for the next generation. It would make sense to eliminate the current gen consoles in the future and have new flagship consoles compatible with the systems coming out next year.

The clearly stressed that it is not a new console it's an new way to play games , it's an update to a more powerful model of Xbox one to get the best out of graphics and frame rates as well as 4K.

They are re branding the Xbox market , base model , middle tear model and high end model and ultra high end models ( that's PC ). They will all run Xbox games , they will all support accessors from Xbox one to s to Scorpio , it's not a brand new console that signals the end of Xbox as brand or Xbox one

People who care about power get PC's.
Microsoft are moving all of their games over to PC, so why buy an Xbox?
How much more powerful can PC specs get compared to the Scorpio, in a year & a half?

Wait so you mean to tell me power and graphics aren't everything anymore. That nobody will buy a stronger console without games. Yet most got a ps4 because it had better hardware and it was cheaper. The line up was a non factor because xbox had a better line up with some new ips at the time. Ps4 was priced just right and kept its aim in games. Xbox e3 was a joke that year with tv, scorpio reveal too soon but smart not to reveal price

And to deficate on thr little man, split up the fanbase, waste money, alienate people etc

If I own Scorpio would I think of Powerful pc? Nope
If I own both would I think of ps4?

Yeah, I doubt it'll work. To deliver that much power, it's going to have to carry a hefty price tag, and that hasn't worked out to well for consoles in the past. Unless they plan on selling it at a massive loss to keep the price below $400, this'll be the PS3 all over again.

Tell me again how the multiplatform strategy was supposed to fix everything. Look at your results and compare them to Nintendo, which keeps thriving with exclusives. Your loyal fans are gone. And let’s not forget the pile of IPs you purchased only to let them rot.

The worst thing is this is down from last years numbers/expectations which was down from the previous years numbers/expectations. You think about how long “down” has been a consistent part of the communication and you realize those subscriptions are what’s holding that boat together. The price cut of gamespass is still a price raise in a string of price raises. They are trying to use players to offset the missing revenue. Now call of duty is out of gamespass, which is literally WHY they bought the company. To draw people to the subscription. They realized they missed a boatload of money and that wasn’t sustainable. Now you pay for it like you would have if they never bought the company… so why buy the company? Mind you those billions still need to be paid back. Yeah it gives you a chance to say we make the biggest FPS… but the internal conversations must be brutal at high level on topics that really matter. Like revenue. Profitability. And ROI for the shopping spree.

$100 game incoming, or the most likely scenario is they will just follow Nintendo going for $80 for the base game

Can't believe anyone thinks it'll be over 70. They want as many people on it as they can to sell shark cards. The only way that happens is if they have a $100 deluxe edition with 3 days early access. Which would probably be smart for them because it'd fly off the shelves
