I have a PS3 however, and I can back you up in saying that the PS3 is DEFINITELY going to have the upper hand in 2007 with better titles, upgrades to the the PS network, frickin' KILLZONE, and i think blu-ray will continue its current lead. <yeah...didn't expect THAT did ya guys?

1. look at the specs...regardless or what ur friend topgamer says, the PS3 is just the better hardware.

Well I figured I'd keep the momentum of the previous six posts going by adding that I too am absolutely sick of these demented, rabid little freaks who get their jollies from bashing other people's preferences, opinions, and decisions.

And here's what really gets me: If these X-Box freakos really, TRULY, despise the PS3 and/or anything Sony-related, then what the Hell are they doing hanging out in the PS3 section???...shouldn't they be out in X-Box Land oogling and drooling over their prized MicroSoft gaming system, instead of wasting time here?

Such could only lead one to presume that such relentless, undying need for this endless and oh-so-old-and tiring boasting and bashing demonstrates a fair chunk of insecurity about their decision to spend their (Mommy and Daddy's) hard-earned money on Microsoft's white hunk-o-cheese.

Ya see, I haven't bought a gaming console in years, and quite honestly, I was torn between and X-Box and the PS3. Ultimately, my logic compelled me to conclude that the PS3 would be the more appealing product for me. And you know what?...after spending a good month with it, I quite simply, unequivocally, undisputably...JUST FRIGGIN' LOVE MY PS3!!!

No regrets. No second thoughts. And you sure as Hell won't find me snooping through any 360-related news, postings or forums. Not because I have anything against the 360, but quite simply because I really DON'T CARE about what's going on in X-Box land...and damn straight I'm eagerly anticipating the potential gooding that are in store for the PlayStation for 2007.

I would like comments from people that have the PS3 and the XBOX360 about which one they play more.

I have both and I actually haven't touched my 360 since I got my PS3. Blu-Ray would be a huge reason for that.

Anyone who says that the PS3 is doomed or does not have fantastic potential is fooling themselves.

The PS3 only needs a couple of killer games and I'm afraid a price drop.

In NZ the PS3 will cost $1,200 without a game. Yes it will sell but only to a very small market initially. For the same price I could buy a premium X360 (bundled together with 2 games), a second controller and 4 or 5 additonal games.

Its all about value for money right now - simple as that.

You have never played FORZA. And DMC4 and MGS4 are good games but people want new fresh IP's. I do not think those games are going to do much PWNAGE.

It's true, I've went to 5-6 electronic and other stores that had the PS3 and only one didn't have one or two lying around.

my toysrus got 16 in on tuesday, have only sold 2 so far. all the retailers in the area I live are having the same problem, it's just not moving off the shelves.

It's one freakin editor in each publication that stated their opinion, not the entire company. Some people forget that the PS3 is $500/$600, not the traditional $300 price tag that consoles usally cost. People have to scrape up the money and save to buy a PS3. Hence, it won't sell that fast initially until more games on prove its pricepoint. Most people that have asked me about my PS3 and want to buy one are waiting for more games to come out. Right now the Wii has the attention of most people since it's only $250, and is something new in terms of gameplay.

People shouldn't judge the PS3 at the moment considering we're in January and everything slows down to a halt. Also BestBuy was so stupid to think that anybody would consider buying a PS3 on New Years Eve so they decide to hold the system from being sold when they came in for Christmas. Now I don't know about anybody else but as for me when Christmas ends all I could think about is pay off my credit cards not go and max them out to be in debt. Give it to around April when people are thinking about shopping again or when people get their income tax refunds here in the states.

Now for anybody who is wondering if I have a xbox360 the answer is yes but I own all the new systems.

Can I recommend a PS3, not at the moment but that doesn't mean it will fail.

Out of all my systems I love my 360 the best and then the PS3, the Wii to me is nothing but a quick gimmick but I still have some fun with it.

Can we stop the fanboy thing? The word is getting REALLY OLD!!! I use to be called a Sega fanboy for liking the Genesis. Then, I was called a Nintendo fanboy for liking the N64...and ever since I got a PS1...i've been called a Playstation Fanboy. It's RIDICULOUS!!! as it turns out nobody's really playing Resistance, so nobody would know. Sony's being snubbed at their retail price already and their not even above 1 million sold. That's big trouble for them cause they'll have to drop the price considerably and loose a lot more money just to move some units.

The 360 was unavailable for 3 months because Microsoft screwed up their production and shipments.

The PS3 is becoming more available now because Sony is doing weekly shipments instead of waiting once a month like Microsoft.

It's also the end of the Holiday Season when everyone has already spent their money for the previous year. Don't expect people to suddenly start spending hundreds of dollars after Christmas is over. In fact, I don't expect PS3 sales to jump until early March when consumers start building their finances and the really big games like Motorstorm, F1 Championship, Oblivion, FEAR, and Heavenly Sword make their debut.

You guys should try to be gamers and not brand loyal zombies. Every one every where says the 360 is worth it. You guys still have issues with this fact. It is a sad day. But we can still get good laughs out of you clowns.

Get real, the PS3 isn't able to sell 1 million units. There's left overs in a lot of stores. The price on ebay for a PS3 assortments are below retail prices after shipping. Showing CLEARLY that consumers don't have the demand for the PS3 at this time. Lets just assume that people who want a PS3 don't think to go to stores, ebay, or online. Just face the facts and agree with me that both you and I overestimated the size of Sony's hardcore fanbase.

By the way, don't you remember Sony promising 4 million by years end at E3.

Seriously, we all know the PS3 isn't flying off the shelves. This really needs to stop being considered news because its been happening for weeks now. Why? It's too expensive and there is a lack of variety in games. That's it.

However, just because it isn't flying off the shelves doesn't mean its a failure. It's selling at a regular rate, nothing amazing, but nothing to worry about. This is going to be exactly like the PSP. How many cried the PSP was going to be a failure? A ton, and it looked they might have been right at the beginning. Now the DS still kills everything in terms of sales, but the PSP has a solid audience that still continues to grow.

And please, enough with these posts. When are they gona stop? September? It's old news.

This gen hasn't been the best for games, last gen consoles are still out there and now there's been talk of the PS6 and Xbox Two for a year or so. Many games this gen will be ported to next gen and the cycle will continue. The re-release of the Neo Geo AES+, games on cartridge for £70 ($95), gaming is going back in time. Gaming has gone pricing mad with the high cost of games, consoles and controllers. The men and women at the top are clueless.

It’s always interesting to hear behind-the-scenes stories like this, especially involving veterans like Shuhei Yoshida and leadership figures like Jim Ryan. That said, there are usually multiple sides to decisions at that level. It could be less about not “listening” and more about differences in long-term vision for PlayStation. Yoshida played a huge role in shaping the brand, so whatever the reason, his impact is undeniable.

If true, and I'm inclined to believe it is, it goes to show that Sony lost their way when they became more western/didn't respect the PlayStation origin story. I miss the first three generations of PlayStation. The way they turned PS3 around, we knew they meant business. We were all worried for a bit there around launch. Eventually from 2008 they started shifting slowly. But since Yoshida was fired, it's never been the same. Still enjoy my PS5 daily. I got a backlog dating back to PS2 lol So I'm fine but new games aren't as appealing anymore.

It seems like we were thrown on to the worst timeline possible where everything is too expensive and the wrong people were put in positions that makes the world a shitty place. We could have had Shu as the head of PS but we got the shitty alternative. Same goes for everyone in power around the world. Doesn’t matter the company or country the majority of us got the shitty picks and the world is declining like never before. I do think PS can come out of this because of their studios, talent and IP but they need someone more in touch with gamers leading things like Shu was. They’re still the best place for console gaming imo but it could be much better than it is especially without the massive live service failures. The rest of the world I have a lot less hope for right now. Hopefully the pendulum swings back towards the good ole days but I’m preparing for the worst.

Jim Ryan is the reason why we are entering year 6 since the PS5 launch and many of us don't feel like the PS5 has gotten started as yet.
