Star Fox Zero was one of the last few key releases for the Wii U. After missing the Holiday 2015 deadline and being delayed, it along with Pokken Tournament and Twlight Princess HD were the highlights of Nintendo’s spring releases for their ill-fated home console. So why did it manage to bomb in terms of sales?

Takaya Imamura, famed ex-Nintendo developer known for his work on the F-Zero and Star Fox franchises, has taken to social media to ponder the possibility of a Star Fox Zero release on Nintendo's upcoming 'Switch 2'.
It's a good ponder. Nintendo would be stupid to not do it. The more titles and first party line up released on the Switch 2 the more enticed the customer will be.

Has time been kind to Star Fox Zero? Does the game have any redeeming qualities that are worthy of revisiting? Should it be considered for a port to the Switch? Was it really that bad?
Haven't played it since it came out, but I really enjoyed it. Can't tell if that's just nostalgia-tinted glasses, or if I actually consider it a good game though lol.
It's a mediocre game that reuses ideas, scenarios, characters and moments from previous ones. Paired with one of the worst control methods that I had the displeasure of using.
controls made me stop playing also what good is a 65inch tv when you have to look at a tiny Wiiu tablet.. same with kirby & the rainbow curse..
No it was great, just the control scheme spoilt things really. The wii u screen was not needed for it really

But any potential design changes would be up to Nintendo if it happens.
I’d rather Star Fox Assault be brought to Switch with online multiplayer instead
Platinum Games wants to many things but sadly it does not show nothing new for years!They try to jump on all offers but end finishing none!
I rather have them show more of Bayonetta 3 first before they talking about any new project.
This reeks Inafune's funding for Red Ash and Mighty No.9 animated series, both never materialized.
b/c nintendo in it's current state is dead. They really need to pull back on the console race and start making money, licensing franchises like zelda, mario and others to sony/microsoft. They'd make a killing.
Shorter than the N64 game, garbage controls, dead console.
lol serious question please, I mean come on is obvious why it sucked so hard, here are some facts of why it failed:
* Delays! lots of them
* Disgusting controls with a disgusting control pad
* Nintendo console specs so damn old!!
* almost 20 year old visuals
* No innovation at all on its gameplay.
* No memorable soundtrack
* And yes Miyamoto was in the project, seriously Miyamoto need to get the hell out Nintendo he had his glorious days but now it needs to get the hell out.
it bombed because it had graphics from 2 gens ago, was overpriced for what little content it had, had a gimmicky control scheme nobody wanted and was exclusive to the least popular console in the market
Because the series is a niche series that was shit on by media that couldn't figure out how Gyro controls work for the game (even though they're praised for Splatoon). The last console star fox game, assault, only sold a million copies world wide. Star Fox 64 3D has sold less than a million according to vg chartz also. Star Fox 64 is the only title to have broken past that and sold 4 million copies.
The only people calling the series dead are the ones who have literally never played a star fox game in their life. But now one of my favorite series will probably be killed off.
