Mr Oliver writes: Virtual reality gaming is on our doorstep and I’ve had a chance to have a sneak peek at the PlayStation VR, I say sneak peek because the PlayStation VR isn’t quite complete. Tracking still isn’t one-to-one and there’s still work to be done on the image quality – edges are rough and objects seemed a little less clear than their HD display – but Sony seems clearly determined to iron these out before it comes to market. It has a good catalogue of games, it’s comfortale and almost affordable. There has been reports of severe motion sickness whilst playing with the PlayStation VR so will not be for everyone.

In 2020 the sheer number of game streaming subscriptions makes you wonder where you should focus your energy and money. Are you are looking for a streaming subscription to satisfy your gaming needs? Well, we put together a table overview for you to peruse and possibly see which ones you might prefer, or see why some of these are now redundant services.
Sony just needs to up its resolution and framerate and it'll be quite the service, still don't like streaming though so doesn't really matter to me.
The only game streaming services are PS Now, Stadia and GeForce Now.
Xbox Game pass, Uplay plus and Origin aren’t streaming.

A 24-year-old inhabitant of Poland has received nearly 9 thousand charges of illegal distribution of games. His idea was to buy digital versions of the games and then resell access to the account to many people. Losses he caused were valued at nearly $260,000. He pleaded guilty to all charges.

This week on the Game Deflators #podcast, John and Ryan discuss the loss of Nintendo Exclusives, Pokemon, and TemTem. Also in the gaming world, we can't forget about the Xbox and PlayStation. Microsoft is re-hiring a a marketing exec of the Xbox 360 days and the PlayStation continues to proove why it will be a force to be reckoned with this next console generation.
To round off this episode the duo tilt their Game Boys and play some Pokemon Pinball. This classic game came out in 1999 to relatively good reviews. Does it still hold up for gamers?
VR will represent a huge paradigm shift in gaming, yes.
You compare it to the Wii, and I think VR is very different because of its breadth of applications. VR is going to be a thing. It will exist as an entertainment platform in the future. For really the first time ever, games are serving as a proof of concept for this new technology. Games are proving VR works. It's early now, but I expect VR to be similar to dual analog sticks in terms of their effect on the gaming landscape.
I would have liked if this piece were longer, I think there are some more arguments to make. Innovation doesn't start and end with VR either, to think we've peaked now... The implications of that undermine the very way technology shifts.
Ready-at-hand technology appears slowly, and almost unconsciously receeds into the backgrounds of our lives. To think gaming has peaked is to ignore all the new things that truly make gaming different now than it was even a couple years ago.
I think that vr is the future. Just not gaming future.
With how stagnant the industry has been and with the way the same concepts have been milked repeatedly it certainly see seems like gaming has peaked or it peaked awhile ago. We need games to get back to taking chances as far as gameplay is concerned
Gaming peaked last gen. Since then it hasn't stepped up the game.
