NGN:
It has become somewhat of a trend for modern-day Nintendo to attempt to fix what isn’t broken; and in some cases, actually breaking it in the process. Such is the case with Star Fox Zero, the latest entry in Nintendo’s quirky animal themed Sci-fi space shooter for the Wii U. My time with the game felt more like a chore than a fun and joyous experience, as I wrestled with some awkward and confusing controls, which threw curve balls at me with a new mechanic just when I was getting close to wrapping my head around the current one. In short, the game just didn’t feel like a true Star Fox game, and the strange controls and gimmicky elements throughout are mostly to blame.

Takaya Imamura, famed ex-Nintendo developer known for his work on the F-Zero and Star Fox franchises, has taken to social media to ponder the possibility of a Star Fox Zero release on Nintendo's upcoming 'Switch 2'.
It's a good ponder. Nintendo would be stupid to not do it. The more titles and first party line up released on the Switch 2 the more enticed the customer will be.

Has time been kind to Star Fox Zero? Does the game have any redeeming qualities that are worthy of revisiting? Should it be considered for a port to the Switch? Was it really that bad?
Haven't played it since it came out, but I really enjoyed it. Can't tell if that's just nostalgia-tinted glasses, or if I actually consider it a good game though lol.
It's a mediocre game that reuses ideas, scenarios, characters and moments from previous ones. Paired with one of the worst control methods that I had the displeasure of using.
controls made me stop playing also what good is a 65inch tv when you have to look at a tiny Wiiu tablet.. same with kirby & the rainbow curse..
No it was great, just the control scheme spoilt things really. The wii u screen was not needed for it really

But any potential design changes would be up to Nintendo if it happens.
I’d rather Star Fox Assault be brought to Switch with online multiplayer instead
Platinum Games wants to many things but sadly it does not show nothing new for years! They try to jump on all offers but end finishing none!
I rather have them show more of Bayonetta 3 first before they talking about any new project.
This reeks Inafune's funding for Red Ash and Mighty No.9 animated series, both never materialized.
This guys reviews are always so terribly written and thought out.........
Another of many reviews that tell the truth about Star Fox Zero, which is that the game is basically broken by the inclusion of forced motion controls and a distracting dual screen gimmick. Sales of Star Fox Zero have been very poor, with only 280k worldwide. Maybe this will teach Nintendo a lesson about forcing bad gimmicks into their games in the future.
