You might think that with the massive (financial) success GTA Online has been, it will become a permanent fixture. However it has been revealed that GTA Online it not here to stay forever.
GTA Online player base & revenue on PlayStation platforms are almost twice of that of PC/Xbox combined, according to a recent Rockstar leak.
PlayStation is GTA and GTA is PlayStation, they're going to kill it when GTA 6 is finally released 😏.

That might be true but you forget, all of Microsoft 1st part games are also available on Playstation and soon day one release
Replies(1)I know of people that own a PS4 exclusively to play gta5, and that’s all they play. I’m sure some of you here know of someone too. I’m surprised at how low the revenue for PC is.
I can't tell you what it's like on PS5 but it's absolutely horrific on PC. My experience is constant hackers and a game that feels like it hates you playing with your own friends too, always seems like a chore to manage to join some minigame together without somehow ending up in different server instances n shit. If I were going to bother with it I'd probably do it on console too.
My guess is also that there are modded versions of GTA online with massive communities on PC that are way better than the rockstar approved version and Rockstar isn't making money out of those.

Be glad the ''ghetto'' PS fans around the globe are spending money because they're practically single handedly keeping the gaming industry from crashing and burning. Can't say the same for MS and their miniscule green fanbase.
Yet those "PS fans" didn't save Concord, Marathon, Highguard or Helldivers 2. Hell, Helldivers 2 and Marathon are only on life support cuz of PC. lol
Actually really surprised with the PC revenue which is an abysmal 3% overall vs Console (PS and Xbox combined) at a whopping 97%. It now makes sense why Take Two/Rockstar prioritizes Consoles. Heck, they could even delay the PC port release 2 to 3 years and it wouldn't make any impact at all.
I think its due to FIVEm. A lot of GTA PC players seem to just play that so don't need the shark cards or a way to even use them for fivem.

Well not "forever" but why not keep up these sort of updates? It's one of the best MMOs on consoles with so much to do with fun being at the forefront of the experience. I hope they at least keep the updates rolling in until GTA 6.
I don't play GTA online as heavily as I use to, but checking back in every now and then is pretty nice seeing all the new weapons and vehicles etc. Brings more life to the game and the support is commendable.
Calling it now RDR Online will be the next big thing
I am sure "Not Permanent" is said in context that it shouldn't be considered as a standalone MMO. (not in strict sense)
By that I mean GTA6 will have its own Online mode and people should move on to that one. We will move on.
I'm just guessing that Take2 might think we will get angry when they cut support of GTA5online once GTA6online rolls.
