‘The Order 1886’ dev working on two projects alongside ‘Deformers’

If you are disappointed by Ready & Dawn’s recent video game announcement, fret not; the studio is currently working on two projects in addition to Deformers. While answering questions about Deformers, Andrea Pessino - director of Deformers at Ready & Dawn, disclosed that the development studio is working on two more projects. Prior to Deformers, the company developed PS4 exclusive The Order 1886 and several PSP titles - most notably God of War: Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta. While Deformers may be Ready & Dawn’s present, it doesn’t necessarily represent the future of the studio.

I really hope The Order: 1886 gets a sequel.

ninsigma3552d ago

Same here. Good first game that has so much potential to expand upon!

UltimateMaster3552d ago

So many likes here. Glad to see some people liked it, unlike some reviews.
I highly doubt there will be a sequel but they will make new games for sure.

oasdada3552d ago

One of my favourite games of this gen.. galahad is an awesome protagonist imo

Ashlen3552d ago (Edited 3552d ago )

I'm not sure how likely that is considering they talked about big DLC plans for The Order and they didn't even make that.

Edited:

I'm not sure what the disagrees are for. I liked the game I'd like a sequel as well. But it's a fact they had big plans for DLC and sequels. But they didn't make any DLC except the launch DLC. I doubt the game made much of a profit if any, it seems like an expensive production.

Ready At Dawn Director Says The Order 1886 Has Tons of DLC and Sequel Potential

Maybe they plan to use all the former potential DLC as sequel material.
Loved 1886 and would love a sequel.

_-EDMIX-_3552d ago

Well that is very telling, I didn't know that
Good find.

ninsigma3552d ago

Yeah I didn't know about that either. Thanks for sharing! Odds are there won't be a sequal but I'll keep hoping :)

A sequel would add value to the first game.

The Order 1886 is one of the first PS4 games I'd buy if I ever get a PS4. I don't care what the haters say, the story, characters, design and atmosphere along with the story all seem interesting enough to play and hopefully it gets expanded upon in a sequel.

Well they need to prove themselves again, and even though we would be happy to see another AAA game from them, some low-budget low-risks small games like DEFORMERS probably is the good call right now.

I'm not exactly waiting for a Order1886 sequel in the future, but still would love them to have a crack at another AAA budget game.

ninsigma3552d ago

They proved themselves well enough that they can make make interesting story driven linear TPS games. The order, while flawed, was a decent experience and I'd have no quarrels with them working on a sequal. In fact I hope they are!

Shubhendu_Singh3552d ago

I want them to do good, but Order1886 isn't really proving their worth.
You may have no quarrel with Order1886, but there is no denying majority of gamers out there felt it was mediocre at best. If they had proven their worth, we would be seeing a sequel as well as a more high profile game from them partnered up with a more established publisher.

I can't believe people swinged that as a negative and downvoted. (Godforbid I say something against anyone who were once related to Sony?)

IamTylerDurden13552d ago

They absolutely proved themselves with the 2 best psp games and a gorgeous, high brow AAA. I hope u enjoy Deformers....

coolbeans3552d ago

"high brow"

I'll take "words that should never be used to describe The Order: 1886" for $400.

shmowboyfebop3552d ago

Thank you for a reasonable comment.

Rimeskeem3552d ago

Crossing my fingers for Order sequel.

Kurisu3552d ago (Edited 3552d ago )

For me The Order was good, not great, good. Amazing graphics but it was way too short and the story could have been told better. Impressive for their first PS4 game though.

CanadianTurtle3552d ago

Honestly, I'd give them a 5/10 when it came to the gameplay department for TheOrder1886. The gameplay was just passable. There was barely any gameplay there to begin with. Just small corridors of generic enemies. It kills me because this franchise has SO MUCH potential that's waiting to be used. It pains me because I keept thinking about what the product "could've" been if they focused their creativity on gameplay.

Yui_Suzumiya3552d ago

I certainly hope one of them is a sequel to The Order. One of my favorites games last year and it definitely begs to have a sequel.

IamTylerDurden13552d ago

Funny how u ppl were nowhere to be found when The Order released. The Order is a dead IP. It will NEVER happen again. The beauty and potential of a sequel is no more. Now we get shovelware like Deformers. R@D is a wounded animal that chose to retreat instead of staying strong and steadfast in their beliefs and fighting back.

ninsigma3552d ago

The hell are you talking about?? Loads of people were saying how they enjoyed the game when it released.

shmowboyfebop3552d ago

NEVER? A wounded animal in retreat?
This hyperbole and grandiose language is describing.... game development? Relax, the game was a graphical showcase with a story that couldn't live up to its environment nor its concept.

Also I doubt Tyler Durden would really care.

Yui_Suzumiya3552d ago

What you talking? I have you on my psn and I've been following The Order since it was announced. I'm one of its biggest advocates on this site. I bought it last Summer when I got a PS4 and I've been defending it ever since.

What an Xbox founder thinks of the new Xbox CEO | Seamus Blackley interview

Gamesbeat caught up with Blackley to extract some wisdom about Microsoft’s journey in games, what he thinks Sharma should do, and where gaming can go next. Part of his message is hopeful, but Blackley sees a lot of peril on the road that Microsoft is following. And it makes him worry about the future of gaming.

"I expect that the new CEO, Asha Sharma, her job is going to be as a palliative care doctor who slides Xbox gently into the night."

LOL

Anyway, let's wait and see maybe Mia Khalifa will surprise us.

rlow11d 16h ago

I’m on the fence about her. I’ll give her chance, but if she is there to finish things off. Well what can you do.

Abnor_Mal1d 13h ago (Edited 1d 13h ago )

After seeing the article of the possible sunsetting of Xbox as said by Seamus Blackley I believe, I went onto X because of a post I saw. It was a gif of Vegeta powering up, the poster commented as Vegeta yelling “Don’t take my fiercest competitor away from me.” Standing there in his blue Sayian/Freiza corps outfit. So it got me to thinking, so let me ask a question to N4G.

If Vegeta is PlayStation, who would Xbox and Nintendo be in the Dragon Ball universe?

Who would be Master Roshi?

I have my own opinion of course, I just want to see what others think.
