Five developers we wish hadn’t been shut down

In this list, we take a look at some of the developers or publisher that are no longer. We’ve only included companies that have been shut down in recent years, meaning important companies like Westwood Studios and Sierra Entertainment aren’t included.

Pandemic Studios and Bizarre Creations :(

I will forever mourn team Bondi - they gave me one of the most unforgettable games I have ever played.

The only reason they did that is because the developers were working 12+ hour days, 7 days a week, for 7 years. That's an average of 84 hours per week, and some developers said they were forced to work 110 hour weeks. Those kind of working conditions are not acceptable, which is why an investigation was launched and the studio was shut down.

Yes especially Evolution Studios, Team Bondi and Irrational Games are all really sad because they made great games till the end, I just loved the Motorstorm Games they were so awesome on PS3 and Driveclub is an awesome game too. In case of Irration all games they made were just fantastic and Team Bondi I really liked L A noire.

Lionhead sadly their games got worse and worse after the mediocre Fable 3 the absolute disaster Fable: The Journey and than the next disaster Fable Legends, Fable Legends just looked awefull from the beginning. I really can understand why Microsoft had to close them.

Can't really agree with Team Bondi sadly. The work conditions there were disgusting and the studio should have been shuttered long before it was. The horror stories from there are quite telling.

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit11d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing11d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9211d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
