Fallout 4: Far Harbor Performance Patch Arrives Next Week On PS4

While many of us gamers wished for this patch to be released earlier to fix the ever so apparent issue of Far Harbor’s serious issue with frame rate on PlayStation 4. Unfortunately, it hasn’t arrived as quickly as we’d wanted, causing many upsets within the community. However, on the official Bethesda twitter account, the developers of Fallout 4 have confirmed a fix is on its way for the issue at hand.

Can't believe I paid 25 bucks for this. I didn't even realize it had framerate issues. I stopped playing out of boredom early on.

I personally thought it's been one of the best DLC's from a Fallout game. I am on PC and didn't have any framerate issues though.

I'll have to give it another chance before the witcher dlc comes out.

Agreed, I thought it was very good. I am on PS4 and didn't really have any major issues. Just and occasional FPS hang up that basically "paused" the game for a second, but no slow down like others have experienced. The graphics did look a bit grainy in places but it seemed to vary with the fog and lighting. Other places looked suitably creepy for the storyline. I got the usual NPC issues like them walking away while I was trying to talk to them but I sort of got used to that with the base game. The biggest problem I had was killing enemies and having the body fall through the map or otherwise disappear before I could loot them. This only happened on The Island, everything is normal in The Commonwealth. Oh, and I did have an odd graphic issue where when I exited my X-01 Power Armor the jet booster pack would be floating in the air turned 90° counter clockwise and about 3' to the left of the actual suit. When I entered the Power Armor again it was back where it belonged. If I parked the armor at a service rack, it was where it should be.

Overall I really enjoyed the DLC and had a great time playing it. Admittedly I am a fan of Fallout 4 and the entire series and I am currently level 96 or so. So take my excusing the minor problems with a grain of salt if you didn't love the game like I did.

They never said it was arriving next week, they only said they've submitted the patch to Sony and they'll notify people when it's live. It's unacceptable that it was launched in this state after they had a public beta test for this DLC.

I am loving the DLC but I noticed the frame rate issues almost instantly when I started to explore. I'm glad Bethesda's working on a fix for this!

For me as soon as you leave any of the towns and wander the foggy roads and trails the framerate is a slideshow. I would estimate it drops below 10. I use Vats 100% of the time anyway so it's still playable but it's just annoying.

They need to look at Morrowind and see what the progression should have been from there instead of the regression we got with the next 2 games. They weren’t horrible games but they could have been so much more.

Fallout 4 just felt too streamlined and accessible to me, the perk system was not as fun as it was in Fallout 3, not saying Fallout 3 didn't have issues but 4 just felt like a complete step back.

mastershredder187d ago

So the part where you just sold the same games for the last 10 years while you focused on 76 and merch, was not a reset from the "creative" aspect eh? How very Todd of you.

I bought Fallout 4 (I loved Fallout 3) at launch and I couldn't bring myself to finish it or even get close to finishing it. It was soooo damned boring and bland. I played on a very hard difficulty and I had hundreds of stimpaks. One of the only games I've played for a while and not ended up finishing it. I hated it. Just flat out hated it.
