Kidrobot forum member mattias recently got a job working for EA and he pitched a crazy idea for an internal project: get a bunch of artists to make some custom Munny versions of the FaceBreaker characters. He met the artists at the recent Show Us Your Munny show and the rest is history.
For those who don't know, a Munny is a DO-IT-YOURSELF vinyl toy that is sold completely blank so that artists can customize them with paint, markers, crayons, sculpting clay, etc. Some artists can even make a living selling their customs for hundreds of dollars.
The ultimate reason is both shocking and disgusting.

"Real Steel is, believe it or not, one of the top 10 best selling games on XBox Live Arcade. Considering the prevalence of the DLC, and the number of people playing, it’s a safe bet that Real Steel has become a surprisingly steady source of income for Yukes."
So a company is continuing to update and support a popular title.
