One of the major drawbacks about Nintendo not releasing information about NX until later on this year and skipping E3 is that rumors have the perfect environment to flourish from now until then. It is not very often that anyone states a rumor that actually has a tangible source that can be verified. Most of the time the person making the rumor is some obscure person you never heard of from a website you never heard about before naming an "anonymous source" that can't be revealed. Sometimes it does come from a source you have heard of before, but yet never any actual links to any websites, never any statements from people involved, no pictures, no video, nothing. Every once in awhile they hit on a rumor and from that point on people that are too lazy to do research of their own forget everything they have said that was proven WRONG and take everything they say as gospel truth. Such is the case with Emily Rogers and a recent rumor regarding the Nintendo NX.

Cole Young almost made the jump from movie newcomer to game canon in Mortal Kombat 1, but a last-minute time crunch shut it down.

A rare first-party Nintendo games sale has just gone live on Amazon with around a dozen of the company's titles discounted.

Square Enix launches Final Fantasy X 25th anniversary site, revealing new Nomura art, books, music releases, and merchandise.
Look I know VIII has its issues and all that but how on earth can the do big anniversary events with new artwork and merchandise for VII, IX and X yet VIII got sweet f*** all.
They could have given it something during its 25th anniversary yet all it got was a single Happy Anniversary post on their social media.
You do realize your saying your shooting down these rumors with your opinions right? All she said was that she has 6 sources that corroborated what she heard about the architecture and the power of the console itself. This is why we take rumors with a grain of salt.
Ugh, the idea that "no x86 = Nintendoomed" is short sighted.
Gamers used to care about innovation. You can't innovate if you have to keep sticking to a mould. The truth is that while it is indeed risky to buck industry trends and try something new, it is a great way to create something that pushes the envelope in innovation.
Say what you will about the Wii, but that console did more than introduce motion control to the world. It was incredibly power efficient, super quiet and had short load times in a tiny package. All of these features don't feel like massive improvements in the gaming industry when you're sitting there playing Wii Sports, but they raise the bar. They introduce us gamers to new ideas, we then set up new standards. Games SHOULD load quickly. Consoles SHOULD NOT make noise or cost $90/hour to power. Consoles SHOULD look nice, not like an ugly mound of plastic with a bunch of air holes.
I get the frustration that occurs when you run out, buy a console for $500 and expect to play all the games ever on it only to realise that that isn't the case. But we're gamers. We KNOW better than that. We KNOW there are three consoles, that you can only play Uncharted on PlayStation, Halo on Xbox and Mario on Nintendo. Armed with this knowledge we should really be more positive about the industry so that NEWCOMERS are WELCOMED and not scared off by horror stories and doom mongering.
N00bs = moar games.
As for the article, you can't really say "I don't believe her so she's wrong". It's actually easier to believe Nintendo will NOT use x86, as is their M.O, than it is to believe that they will for fear of being doomed. At the end of the day, developers -- who are paid to develop -- will develop games for whatever console their publisher overlords demand. It comes down to console sales, really. It's the console manufacturers' job to sell consoles. This is where your Mario Karts, Zeldas and Pokemons come into it.
This isn't Nintendo's first rodeo. Sit back. Relax. It's gaming: try to have some fun.
Watch it be another attempt at a vr console. I know the virtual boy techically isnt vr but I just have a strange feeling.
