I want the Damage Update more than anything else right now... Polyphony said it was supposed to be coming sometime this Fall, but Polyphony needs to just put all their focus into the full version of GT5 because I do not want to wait until 2010 to play the ultimate racing simulator... I hope GT5 can make a late 2009 release at least.

Gran Turismo used to be my favorite racing game. The series has just went down hill after GT3 though. I know I know, the graphics in Prolouge are probably the best on any game to date, even compared to Metal Gear. But just because the game has good graphics it doesn't make it a fun game.

I was absolutely bored with Prolouge, and the online without private rooms and voice chat really just showed me that Polyphony still doesn't understand the concept of what a next gen online game should have standardize. I wont buy GT5 if you can race your friends in a private match or if it doesn't have voice chat.

Online set up is lame! They need more tracks! They dont need more cars! Maybe a couple more F1 cars

Add 4-5 tracks and make it HOME intergrated and i will be more then happy playing this game a couple hours a week till the new one drops

But this is the year 2008. If Forza can do everything that GT did but better and if all that GT is great graphics then I know which game Im gonna be playing over what. Im a total Sony fanboy, I freakin adore my ps3, but if Polyphony cant get with the times im not gonna be like them and not be logical about what racing game I would prefer to play.

I hope to god that GT5 is everything I dreamed it would be,, perfect single player and perfect online. I just got this gut feeling that its not gonna turn out like I anticipated. But if Polyphony fails I guess I will just have to stick with Motorstorm 2 and Midnight Club L.A till Forza 2 comes out.

A lot more video control and replay options, and the GT video store is fully integrated with PSN.

As for damage i couldint care less thats not wat GT is about and dont bring that crap fonza into it there damage is bullshit as well the only thing fonza got right is online play and thats all GT needs is private rooms, give us that and then they can leave prologe alone and just work on the full game.

Just a thought --- hope Sony can implement an additional feature in the main *start race menu ( start race, change vehicle settings, end race ) were you would be able to change vehicles without going back to the main start-up menu options which take a lot of time... and put this in the full version GT5 as well.

Can't wait how Sony/Polyphony will deal with the look and feel of damage-mode once it becomes standard in the series for the very first time in the history of GranTurismo., also I believe damage feature will be brought as an update once the Prologue nears it's end date/production in about a few weeks/months? before the real deal GT5 comes-out.

MART you already know that ps3 games are much more interesting and look better than anything on your beloved 360.

don't get me wrong, i own a 360. but you must be blind if you can't see that ps3 games are playing in their own league, leaving 360s next gen games like Gears of War far behind.

This gen hasn't been the best for games, last gen consoles are still out there and now there's been talk of the PS6 and Xbox Two for a year or so. Many games this gen will be ported to next gen and the cycle will continue. The re-release of the Neo Geo AES+, games on cartridge for £70 ($95), gaming is going back in time. Gaming has gone pricing mad with the high cost of games, consoles and controllers. The men and women at the top are clueless.

It’s always interesting to hear behind-the-scenes stories like this, especially involving veterans like Shuhei Yoshida and leadership figures like Jim Ryan. That said, there are usually multiple sides to decisions at that level. It could be less about not “listening” and more about differences in long-term vision for PlayStation. Yoshida played a huge role in shaping the brand, so whatever the reason, his impact is undeniable.

If true, and I'm inclined to believe it is, it goes to show that Sony lost their way when they became more western/didn't respect the PlayStation origin story. Andrew House and Jack Tretton did great work, but they also didn't try to fundamentally change the PlayStation DNA. Ryan oversaw the death of Japan Studio and a live service direction.

I miss the first three generations of PlayStation. The way they turned PS3 around, we knew they meant business. We were all worried for a bit there around launch. Eventually from 2008 they started shifting slowly. But since Yoshida was fired, it's never been the same. Still enjoy my PS5 daily. I got a backlog dating back to PS2 lol So I'm fine but new games aren't as appealing anymore.

It seems like we were thrown on to the worst timeline possible where everything is too expensive and the wrong people were put in positions that makes the world a shitty place. We could have had Shu as the head of PS but we got the shitty alternative. Same goes for everyone in power around the world. Doesn’t matter the company or country the majority of us got the shitty picks and the world is declining like never before. I do think PS can come out of this because of their studios, talent and IP but they need someone more in touch with gamers leading things like Shu was. They’re still the best place for console gaming imo but it could be much better than it is especially without the massive live service failures. The rest of the world I have a lot less hope for right now. Hopefully the pendulum swings back towards the good ole days but I’m preparing for the worst.

So now there's certifiable proof that Ryan was in fact "fired", as opposed to when it was first announced that he "retired", in order to save face.

There's another guy who recently "retired" as CEO of another large gaming company, after doing a dismantling job as lead for well over a decade.

seems legit, the business man, fires the one who has ideas to move the business forward.

Jim Ryan is the reason why we are entering year 6 since the PS5 launch and many of us don't feel like the PS5 has gotten started as yet.

I hope going forward, we will see a return to form.
