I mean it's going to be on more platforms so it's expected to have more sales.

gangsta_red3669d ago

I'm hoping the robots transform into tanks or huge fighter jets on some Robotech type action.

They already showed a mech with a sword so we got the Gundam part covered.

_-EDMIX-_3669d ago

Could be the next huge IP. Titanfall 1 seems to get lots of play from a few of my friends on PC, like some of them putting maybe thousands of hours in it lol.

But lots of games have such strange fans. One of my friends from the good old 1up days has well over 1000 hours in Fallout 4 already.

I'll wait for more info on Titanfall 2 before I become more interested. Already got 2 FPS games I'm getting this fall. COD4 remastered for that fast pace classic FPS, BF1 for that methodical team work FPS. Titanfall 2 might get a skip by me if I feel its not really offering me much.

MachuchalBrotha3163669d ago

I can tell you right now that Titanfall gameplay is top notch. I'd go as far as to say if not for the lite content, it would be best shooter out not named Halo.

_-EDMIX-_3669d ago (Edited 3669d ago )

So I've heard. I always see a few of my friends on Origin always playing it, like every day lol.

I might get the second one, who knows. I like the concept of it as we needed a change of pace with shooters. MECHS! lol I might get 2, but I'm not sure if it will be a day 1 for me or maybe next year when I have more time. I'm already planning to spend most of this fall on BF1 and Call Of Duty 4 remaster, its just hard to buy a new concept when older concepts are more familiar. If one of my friends or family get it for me as a gift I'll likely play it day 1, but right now I'm just not sure. So many shooters releasing.

700p3669d ago

Yeah I very much enjoyed it on 360. I'm glad it was successful enough to make a sequel!

WellyUK3668d ago

Titanfall hands down has the best gameplay of any shooter ever made. It however lacked in other areas but gameplay wise it was pretty much perfection.

spicelicka3667d ago

I really hope it's using frostbite 3, although I've read it's an upgraded old engine.

_-EDMIX-_3667d ago (Edited 3667d ago )

@Spice- I think it's likely it's still using the source engine as I don't believe EA owns the actual IP and it's very likely if they did it would have been a frostbite but because EA has no ownership over the IP I'm pretty sure it's going to be an engine of the team's choosing.

I would definitely put money on you being correct on that notion, as that sounds like something they would have already stated. I would also love to see it running and Frostbite 3 but I would also like the team to feel comfortable with the tools that they're working with and if they feel comfortable developing on Source maybe it's best that the team creates the game with as much ease as possible as opposed to struggle with an unknown engine. So far I like how the second game looks like though

BossBattle3669d ago

I hope the movement is as good as Black Ops 3. BO3 is the best futuristic fps.

Immorals3669d ago

Titanfall 1 has better movement than black ops 3.

BossBattle3669d ago

I played both a lot and I disagree with you. The unlimited run, power slide, more effortless wall run, and the easier to control double jump is better on BO3 by miles. Titanfall had better maps tho.

Deathdeliverer3669d ago

Best futuristic shooter could possibly be argued. What I do agree with is that BO 3 has Titanfall movement beat by miles. It's truly effortless.

WellyUK3668d ago

Titanfalls movement is fluid where as Blops 3 you get stuck to the walls, it's no where near as good as Titanfalls free running system.

BossBattle3668d ago

Stuck to the walls?...your controller is broken. I don't get stuck to walls in BO3. Play the tutorial.

WellyUK3668d ago

seriously play titanfall then play blops 3 you can feel the character stick to the walls, you don't on titanfall... It's seamless and miles better

spicelicka3667d ago

Halo 5 is the best futuristic fps imo, balanced as hell.

I hope for bigger multiplayer though in Titanfall 2.

Evolved from what? If they didn't admit to issues with the first game they're not going to improve them in any significant way.

Gazondaily3669d ago

Evolved from the first game that's what. Great features can be expanded upon and be further improved you know.

There are lots of things that could be evolved such as the mechs, the pilot abilities, weapon types etc that all worked well in the previous game. It should be obvious to anyone who spent a reasonable time playing Titanfall.

Godmars2903669d ago

You're either don't understand what I said or was happy enough with an arena shooter which featured mechs as a power up to not care about the story it was suppose to have.

Gazondaily3669d ago

If you think the mechs in Titanfall were merely a powerup then you have no idea about the game. Who said the story element was going to take precedence over the arena shooter element?

It was touted as an arena shooter and anyone who bothered playing it will know that's exactly what it was.

Godmars2903668d ago (Edited 3668d ago )

That the game was an arena shooter that prioritized arena shooting over a campaign story is the exact issue. That because this is EA we're talking about, what passes for modern story telling in games, there's little chance that a campaign story will see any real improvements. Nothing like what gamers wanted, like when on the dinosaur planet being able to actually interact with them. Only having staged events involving a few.

I mean FFS: the first Titianfall they pulled narrative points like thousands needing to die to train one effing mech pilot and in planet warps with pinpoint accuracy while never going into or exploiting the implications. And now yet again they're just throwing crap against the wall because it sounds cool.

Sparta073668d ago (Edited 3668d ago )

Oh oh, godmars stop being judgemental on an xbox exclusive!!!!!!
You are hurting septic feegings. Lol
dude needs to calm down.
Hopefully they make LOTS of improvements. Anyone who played the game knows it gets boring after awhile. It's feels empty, TF has so much potential. Not excited for this game at all, but let's see. Hopefully they will show us something new.
Also of cause sells are going to be higher it's 3 platforms now.

Godmars2903668d ago

Except its NOT exclusive. Not even exclusive to consoles this time around.

WellyUK3668d ago (Edited 3668d ago )

It was made to be a MP shooter from the ground up... What is it with vocal SP people bitching and crying all the time.

Godmars2903668d ago

Maybe it has something to do with PR shills saying the co-op campaign would have depth. Just like they're saying this new game will be a vast improvement, if not introduce fantasy elements into a sci-fi themed title.

Take-Two CEO Once Again Side Steps Grand Theft Auto 6 Price Point

Strauss Zelnick says price of GTA 6 is being carefully considered and that Rockstar is focused on "making the most spectacular piece of entertainment on Earth."

Kuma28d ago

If GTA 6 abandons everything that made GTA 5 great, it will crash and burn right out of the gate. GTA 5 was funny and not at all PC. My worry is that they will cave to the PC crowd and ruin the vibes.

Eonjay28d ago

They got freaking BBLs twerking on the top of trucks for the gram, the freaking Flordia joker, and dude running down the stree in their undies and you are worried about it being 'too PC'? The internet has runied gamers. It doesn't matter how non-PC they make the game, you will all listen to the grifters telling you not to believe your lying eyes lol.

gigoran828d ago

"Rockstar Games’ co-founder and former VP of Development Jamie King said he envisions GTA 6 as a game that’s “maybe not quite as edgy or quite as funny” as its satirical predecessors."

oh yeah, totally internet grifters spreading rumors...

blacktiger28d ago

That's part of the plan, they destroyed you but they need to destroy the shareholders? Only 1 shre holder is the true elite that don't care

1nsomniac28d ago (Edited 28d ago )

Meh.., if it’s above £55 I ain’t buying it.

Rockstar are genuinely not half the company they used to be. I was a die hard GTA fan I’ve purchased every game and expansion and spin off day 1.

My opinion of GTA6 is that I can take it or leave it. Not bothered. They burnt too many bridges.

DaReapa28d ago (Edited 28d ago )

So they're actually leaving the door open for an L.A. Noire sequel? Nice!

VaNdAl28d ago (Edited 28d ago )

He should just come out and say it already it's getting stupid it's going to be a 100 bucks $200 for the special edition🤡🤡; 29315;🤣♿

Storm2328d ago

I won't be getting this game until I can get it for $70. SHoot, I could wait for it to be even lower. I don't need the game that badly as my backlog is still huge and I am enjoying playing other things.

Xbox boss: Memory crisis could impact next-gen hardware pricing

Xbox boss Asha Sharma has discussed how component shortages will impact the company's plans for Project Helix.

Eonjay30d ago

When does this end? Its killing everyone. Consoles and PC. And for what? AI? The benefits of AI are completely outweighed by the negatives. And the government should have never allowed one company to buy up all the RAM.

Lexreborn230d ago

This kind of proves this is an after thought product, most products like this are in r&d 5 years before they start mass producing. So they typically have the cost of components and things worked out long before assembly starts.

This is an assumption still, but I wouldn’t be surprised if project helix is similar to Scalebound, perfect dark and sod3. They had an idea but no actual execution other than concept stage. Being impacted by the ram shortage likely would also put this device 3-4 years out.

I’m not even sure MS has that endurance with Xbox yet

Fishy Fingers30d ago (Edited 30d ago )

I mean.... what?

We're at a point that Samsung wont even provide their own phone department ram because they can sell it at higher prices to 3rd parties (AI). Its more profitable to sell the ram than make their own devices with it.

You think because R&D starts 5 years ago the 3rd party component manufacturers will honour that price? They'll sell it to whomever is paying the most today, not some gentlemens agreement they made years ago. AI farms will buy more volume at higher prices than any console manufacturer will. It'll be the same for Playstation.

Lexreborn230d ago

Contractual agreements are not the same as “gentlemen” agreements. If you think that they work with their distributors a month before production then their entire business model is trash. They work with companies like nvidia constantly for building the graphics cards they need. They work with companies that build motherboards years in advance. This is what proper business planning does.

They are not buying components on a whim like a consumer. So again, considering the ram isn’t a singular module and is integrated into the motherboard I highly doubt they wouldn’t have a final schematic that they are supposed to be building around.

If they are delaying production another 3 years then it’s obvious again this is an after though project and is just trying to be responsive to their bad execution they had the last 14 years.

It also isn’t far fetched to use their failure to produce first party titles the last 7 years including the highly anticipated games I mentioned all being cancelled. That they would continue to you know… lie

Sitdown30d ago

You don't really know how this works huh?

Profchaos30d ago (Edited 30d ago )

Helix is going to be stupidly expensive

Instead of leaning into smarter upscaling techniques they're brute forcing hardware that will cost them dearly and it remains to be seen if it's genuinely going to provide a meaningful differential

I know in the oc.doace people like to brag about not using frame gen or dlss to get to high on a game but for the majority of players they happily use those technologies without a second thought

That's going to be ps6 vs Helix

Eonjay30d ago

Yeah with FSR 5 they should be able to offer a much cheaper version of Helix.

Eonjay30d ago

While this does seem to be the case, I am encouraged by the statement from Microsoft about wanting to provide affordable options. If this means a Series S style Helix, at least there will be something affordable being offered.

XBManiac29d ago

Series S is what has killed Xbox Series so... Will they dare?

blacktiger30d ago

It's called systematic inflationary. Yes we get it Microsoft, keep raising in the name ofall kinds of stuffs

pwnmaster300030d ago

Honestly if there was thing I learned from this generation is that new consoles arnt day one anymore.
I can wait 1-3 years.

DarXyde30d ago

Another important lesson from this generation: while Nintendo showed us that prices don't necessarily need to ever drop, we've now learned that waiting 1-3 years does carry some risk that prices increase. This generation is just bizarre in all the wrong ways.

LucasRuinedChildhood30d ago (Edited 30d ago )

The factors are largely external. Covid and Russia-Ukraine war causing inflation led to the first price increase in 2022.

Then we get Trump's tariffs increasing hardware prices, AI boom causing a RAM crisis, war on Iran causing a worldwide fuel crisis which impacts the cost of everything.

Gaming doesn't exist in a vacuum. The last few years have been a shitshow and lot of it was definitely avoidable.

DarXyde29d ago

LucasRuinedChildhood,

For sure. No disagreement on the external factors doing a lot of this. Where I have to gently push back however is on two fronts:

1. The pandemic definitely caused some issues: asynchronous development was a big issue and really complicated timelines and affected game quality. At the same time, when it comes to price hikes, it's really difficult to know what was genuine necessity and what was taking consumers for a ride. The pandemic brought about "stag-flation" which was increasing prices and stagnant wages, which was a problem caused by supply chain constraints. There was also "Greed-flation", where companies that were slightly affected or had no issues took advantage of the situation and squeezed everyone citing supply chain issues when there were none.

2. It's definitely true that the tariffs, AI boom, and RAM crisis were all things enabled by tech broligarchs throwing money at this caricature of a world leader, one of them being Satya Nadella. I don't think Sony and Nintendo have contributed much to this problem if at all, but Microsoft's Nadella I feel was instrumental in causing every one of those issues. Microsoft as a company contributed to both candidates (though they gave Harris 4x as much if I recall), but Nadella was all in on letting AI run wild. He paid for unregulated AI, and got a war that's not a war (even though Trump called it that at least five times on television) that screwed up helium access. So for me, I feel that one of the players in the gaming industry is a key architect of these issues, and for that reason I struggle a bit to think of it as "external".
