Good unbiased fair review, but, not having played Gaurd when reviewing the overall package...that was a mistake.

LOL_WUT3681d ago

It was not a mistake since Guard was its own thing and not a part of the main game. ;)

higgins783681d ago

Agreed, but since one part of the face-off was comparing the overall package of both SF64 and SF0, Gaurd definitely adds to said package.

deafdani3681d ago

It's Guard, not Gaurd. I'm correcting you because you made the same mistake twice.

And no, I don't think Guard needs to enter into the comparison, because it's still its own game, and gameplay wise has nothing to do with Star Fox Zero. It's another game, in another genre, that happens in the same universe.

so your saying the controls and the lame extras are to blame.

superchiller3681d ago

If Nintendo and Platinum had just left out the gimmicky controls, Star Fox Zero would have been a much better game. Sadly, Miyamoto got his way, and the game was ruined.

It's amazing how little NIntendo did to improve on 64. They could have at least fleshed out the story a bit more, or tossed in some more missions... but nope.

It's a good ponder. Nintendo would be stupid to not do it. The more titles and first party line up released on the Switch 2 the more enticed the customer will be.

The 10 Best Star Fox Games Ranked From Worst to Best

BLG writes: "The original titles are classics with near-infinite replayability. Later releases, however, have stumbled. Usually, they’re hampered by attempted innovation with new control schemes or gimmicks. Still, there’s a lot to enjoy with the beloved Nintendo franchise. To celebrate, we’re going to rank the best Star Fox games in the franchise. To come up with the order, we’re mixing in a little bit of Metacritic ranking and author opinion."

Haven't played it since it came out, but I really enjoyed it. Can't tell if that's just nostalgia-tinted glasses, or if I actually consider it a good game though lol.

Vits1681d ago

It's a mediocre game that reuses ideas, scenarios, characters and moments from previous ones. Paired with one of the worst control methods that I had the displeasure of using.

CptDville1680d ago

Those controls. Boring and frustrating at the same time. Only with co-op they were bearable, but co-op was restricted to finished levels.

SeTTriP1680d ago

Yes couldn't finish it it was so boring.

MissAubrey1680d ago

controls made me stop playing also what good is a 65inch tv when you have to look at a tiny Wiiu tablet.. same with kirby & the rainbow curse..

Einhander19711680d ago

No it was great, just the control scheme spoilt things really. The wii u screen was not needed for it really
