it already is overhyped, people are expecting this to be the saving grace for the ps3s online functions and features when in reality its everything it already does but put into a 3d enviornment. it is going to get stale very fast. within a week actually , ask any home beta tester, they all stoped playing it within the first week.the only feature home is adding is a party system, but there taking so long to release home that MS has already ripped them off and is implementing this into its new dashboard. the ironic part is that i bet 360s dashboard is probably coming out before the open home beta.

Many people think its a game, and act like its going to be the second coming of Christ!

What it does, it does very well, and its compelling and enjoyable. For those that like community meetings and launching multi player games with friends and such it will change the way you can use your PS3. But if you don't play much online - it will be a novelty that will soon wear off.

I'm one of the lucky beta testers and I do really like it. But I worry that people think its a lot more than it is, and the majority of people fail to understand what it is, and whats its trying to do.

Home just isn't functional. It's just not worth going into and launching games from. I've used it. I've played around with it since the 1st beta and it's just not something I see myself using on a daily basis. All you fundamentally do from it or can do from it is interact with other gamers and launch "some" games from it. We can do that from the xmb and it won't cost 10 to 12 seconds of loading everytime we do it.

Home is a pointless venture outside of those who populate it and want to make it something more. Those are the hardcore and that's awesome. If you create a space within home for me to come to and check out your opinions, thoughts and media, I'll be there but I feel like a whole lot of people just won't use it past the 1st week.

It's totally over-hyped already. Just look at the Home section of the Playstation boards. If it works, it'll be a clever and unique way to set up games with your friends. That's about it.

This is a joke....I mean if you frequent n4g you would know the handful of droids that come here are quite hyped...how many of those people will admit that after a week or maybe not even that amount of time...they are bored out of their minds....none on here I bet....lets be honest..you people will actually like the lagging, simplified versions of games, and the all around thrill of seeing dozens and dozens of ads you will get what you deserve but please dont come back on these pages and hype this like its the second coming because no one aint buying into that bull.

I must admit ps3 gamers online are the best bunch of people i've met,
there are some great guy's on xblive but there are some really outright horrible people on xblive too, that's why home will work.

What they mean will it be it has been and it has been forgotten already I mean stop the talk release it....

Whatever happens, they can't go wrong with Home. It's basically a huge interactive lobby/dashboard and that's all someone should be using it for.
What I'm afraid of though is the already slow PSN streaming tons of HD trailers constantly... I'm not sure how well that will perform.

Playstation Home is in a different kind of hype then a lot of things this gen.
People playing and experiencing this application is driving the hype not just hearing some corporate head making promises.
People had some hands on time w/ this application and now the extended beta comes out this Autumn.
Home has been great so far and has surpassed what people expect and I can't agree more w/ that statement.

some people need to invest in a dictionary...or just go to the website. This is what I have read, "how can u over hype something that is free", "no it wont get over hyped cause its not a game", "How can a Virtual Myspace be overhyped", "can you over hypre something free and optional"

Now, you will notice......the price of something does not dictate whether or not it can be overhyped, or it does not specify that it has to be a certain object or item. You can overhype how great a public speaker is..and then be disappointed, just as you can overhype the functionality of an object and be let down. This article says that HOME was suppose to be released in 07...well that would fall under "misleading manner/claim" So for some it is overhyped because of that.

Or you can look at it like this....if HOME does not meet or surpass your expectations for it...then on some levels, it was overhyped for you.

i don't know what people are expecting HOME to be, but i'm just looking to have some fun with friends that i don't get to see often, or ever, since we live in different parts of the US and even overseas (since you can invite people from other countries to your personal HOME, private spaces, but you can't see them in the public spaces.
