"Windows Xbox", Microsoft 10 TFLOPS gaming console, that can run Windows software that give you both PC and Xbox in one box for $799? $499 AMD R9 nano 8.19 TFLOPS in a Small 10 TFLOPS PC Already Exist, http://wccftech.com/custom-... . Plus HewlettPackerd/HP, Dell still making PCs and Microsoft Surface Exist.

"Windows Xbox" PC gaming + Xbox. Maybe it needs a new name.

Windows Play, Windows Gaming, Windows Game, Game on Windows Live, PC gaming, Hope Microsoft can come up with great name for "Windows Xbox". Stop calling Xbox, Xbox and start calling it PC, it would help sell Xbox One...I mean PC One.

That machine would be massive just imagine with that much power all the heat it would produce it would need a massive fan and a really good airflow design with massive air vents.

Burrito26a3670d ago

@seanpitt23... Massive? So basically an Xbox 1? But that was powerful.

Shubhendu_Singh3671d ago

It will be just an slim version, with a new controller design. Maybe changed color or something. I'm fairly positive on it.

Come fast E3. Only 38Days, 8Hours to go.

RosweeSon3670d ago

They need more to just slim the console they need to Pimp it out and just pimp it out. Get shifting them and get some games going games will sell the consoles not Netflix and iplayer that can be done through anything these days including your phones great to have the options but let's have to games to go with it. The my really need to up the specs tho if that what Sony are doing and NX Are supposedly gonna be between ps4-Xbox one currently Xbox gonna need some more under the hood if they want to at least compete in this generation otherwise they might as well just start making next generations besst not that anyone will be ready this side of 2020 if NX is as good as I'm hoping and ps4 keeps going as well as it has done I don't see ps4 slowing down anytime soon. 3-4 years then we'll start hearing about ps5 not gonna launch until 2020 when they are shifting 10-15 million ps4's a year still.

Brazz3671d ago (Edited 3671d ago )

you do realise that 10 TFlops console, most likely a APU whit a huge power supply and fans, for less than $1000 is freaking impossible right? i mean, you need a powerfull gpu (that alone is almost $1000), a decent CPU ( no bottlenecks, otherwise, the gpu is useless ), pack a good chunk of memory ( at the very least 16GB for such machine), a massive power supply, godlike fans for all the heat and "Leonardo da Vinci" of the console desing to feat all these things in a box whit a good size and no overheating....

in other worlds... only a noob that knows nothing about computers would belive is such a monster machine as a console for something like $799!! i'm not even including things like optical disc, controller, Harddrive, usb ports, etc. this thing is just freaking impossible!

never4get3671d ago

AMD R9 nano 8.19 TFLOPS $499 if you buy one, $399 if you buy 1,000,000. Only noobs thinks its impossible to make $799 windows gaming pc/xbox console. Plus, Small 10 TFLOPS PC with AMD R9 nano is definitely possible as seen here, http://wccftech.com/custom-... ?

rainslacker3670d ago (Edited 3670d ago )

@never

Not disagreeing with you, but wish to make a point on the price of a 10TFlop PS4 of X1.5.

So, $400 GPU, maybe $450 for the APU.
$20 for the controller
$10 for the power supply.
$40 for the motherboard
$20 for the BR drive
$10 for the plastic case
Maybe $40 for other misc things not worth doing a breakdown for.
$5 to put it all together
$3 for the box
$1 for the user manuals
$10 to pack it all up and ship it all around
$5 to ship it to distributors.

Means Sony and MS spends $545 just to get it onto the market.

Then you have to give retailers maybe $20-30 profit, the distributor maybe $10 profit, so we're sitting at $575 on the low end.

Sony and MS likely wants a reasonable profit, so we're looking at a $599, system for them to make $24 in profit, which doesn't go very far to pay for marketing and R&D. More likely $699 since I low balled a lot of things, and didn't put them in my equations.

In the meantime, they could just refine the current hardware, increasing profit, and actually get more of a return on their investment.

As a company...which makes more sense considering just how well their current product is selling? Makes more sense for MS, but even then, not really that much more sense as it's hard to imagine a $600-700 system will help MS that much.(aimed more at general discussion than your comment which I don't take issue with since you actually are disproving the OP which was off base).

It's all rather moot. The new chips specs don't indicate a 10TFlop GPU. They'll probably be in the 3-4 TFlop range. All specs indicate double the power, and the PS4 is running at 1.84 TFlops, and the rumored specs give no indication that it's increases in hardware are anywhere close to the 10TFlop range. We may see 14nm chips though, although even that could be up in the air.

I'm not sure at what point people started thinking that any console would have the latest and close to greatest hardware.

BossBattle3671d ago

It's reported that the Xbox 1.5 will be sold at a loss.

kraenk123670d ago

So just like the X1 before?!

itsme2233666d ago

no, he said theres no xbox 1.5. MS will take a loss on "xbox next" They started working on it in Feb 2016, it wont be out till spring 2017........well so i hear but i hear alot of things.

never4get3670d ago

Yeah, Windows 10 already out for months and Xbox One still doesn't have Windows 10. X1 got problem with Windows 10?

RosweeSon3670d ago

It really wouldn't I've held off and if they turn it into a PC I'll never get one a PC is a PC a games console is a whole different beast sure have link up features and what not but let's not merge the two into one.

never4get3669d ago

Both halves will be right then. Imo.

gamer78043671d ago

of course they are, they are all already working on their next console, and of course its a secret... clickbait.

freshslicepizza3671d ago

agreed. they are all thinking of the next replacement. microsoft is likely to announce a new slim model this year

never4get3671d ago

Small 10 TFLOPS PC Already Exist, http://wccftech.com/custom-... Selling it as a dedicated game console would be difficult, but selling it as Xbox Gaming PC, could sell a lot.

rainslacker3670d ago (Edited 3670d ago )

History has proven that consoles are always bleeding edge on the technology front....or close to it since 10TFlops isn't bleeding edge./s

I'm more amused with those thinking it will use a Polaris GPU which isn't even released to the mainstream yet, but whatever.

Have a nice cost breakdown above. If it's a 10TFlop system, expect it to release at around $600-$700, then we'll really see how people feel about 60fps.....although it likely would do 4K. I highly doubt either company is going to take a major loss on hardware for what amounts to a low demand product that not many people were asking for, and no one expected before a month ago.

Edit @ Boba

That's not a Polaris GPU. Polaris GPU's are slated to release between July and August of this year.

http://wccftech.com/amd-pol...

Not going to look it up, but I believe that the R600 is based on the Arctic Islands chipsets, with Polaris being implemented into this architecture going forward, I think with the RX400 being the first, although my memory is fuzzy on that. Polaris is not a change to the GCN base, rather the production process in which they're made, which does allow for some additions to the arctic island base. I can't remember the name of the process that the older chipsets used, but I'm sure someone around here knows. I also believe they have a new chipset base in the works, but not sure if those will be released along with Polaris.

Bobafret3670d ago

"I'm more amused with those thinking it will use a Polaris GPU which isn't even released to the mainstream yet, but whatever."

The AMD R600 GPU was not available to the public when the Xbox 360 launched.

CrimsonWing693671d ago

Man, I feel like these consoles are just now getting to the point where they should've been at launch... I feel like all this talk about the next iteration of consoles isn't jiving with me well. Something about this generation really feels off. Are we going to see most of this gen's games on the next generation of consoles as a super HD edition? Because I gotta be honest, that's a trend that plagued this generation.

noksucow733671d ago

Yep. The Definitive definitive version. Lol.

kevnb3670d ago (Edited 3670d ago )

sony started it by removing bc, releasing remakes and ps now. I don't think ps now has caught on and I don't see anything similar from competition, at least there's that. It's still a shame when hackers have exposed that even slim PS3s can play ps2 games through software emulation. I suspect the ps2 classics on ps4 are made possible by another software emulator(much like pcsx2 it allows for better render resolution), nickle and diming customers once again.

rainslacker3670d ago

I don't think the issue with BC on PS4 is the fact it can't be done, rather that licensing doesn't allow it to be done through emulation, meaning Sony would have to take the same approach as MS to making it viable.

I will say I wish Sony would take a similar approach, however, if they don't want games to run from the optical drive, it will limit availability since most PS2 games don't have a digital version. The PS2 rereleases are new products with their trophy support, and I don't see many publishers jumping at putting up digital versions of their PS2 games for BC support where they wouldn't make a ton of money....although it allows for sales of the basic software, although Sony may prefer trophy support be added. Then there's the fact quite a few PS2 games couldn't work through it since the BR drive in the PS4 supposedly can't actually read CD's, and some PS2 games were released on CD....which is likely why PS1 support couldn't come in the same way for physical versions.

danny8183670d ago (Edited 3670d ago )

THIS. For me i feel like this gen is weird becuase Sony and Microsoft offered us new promised and thats not the case. Dont give me gimmicks or new ways to play but in terms of a graphics leap. and exciting new ips like Uncharted was or Gears. Problem is that current gen plays like last gen. TLOU remastered looks the same as the ps3 version. Im starting to feel like X1 and PS4 was a small leap to keep cost low, hence consoles being $350- now. Sad times.

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

dveio23d ago

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Jingsing23d ago

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Tanktopmaster9223d ago

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit23d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing23d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9223d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
