Crazy to think the WII is to the Switch 2, as the NES was to the WII back then. 20 Year difference.
My wife asks me to bust it out (heh) everyone once in a while to play bowling and tennis with the kids. There was a ton of slop on it but some good stuff as well.
Wii was great but boy howdy did it cause Microsoft to go on a dark walk with the Kinect and the disastrous XBox One launch that they arguably never recovered from.
Not nostalgic for me.. I was there.. anyone who wasnt a little kid realized it was a gamecube with shit tacked onto it, it was the "joke" system and was well below even the switch in terms of comparing it to the latest machines at the time. The machine was well loved by young people and "casual gamers" who now remember it 20 years on, or in most cases more of its sales came in the 15-20 years ago range not right at launch- but again its not nostalgic for people who were "gamers" then really, just for those who ended up with one in their house, the games , graphics, interface and online features were archaic already in 2006.
A new Guitar Hero game looks set to be announced by Activision as Guitar Hero Mobile ads are appearing on Instagram out of the blue.
Should have been a console game, right now would have been a good time for a new Guitar Hero.
Time to revive all those popular franchises that are easy to monetize with micro transactions and nothing is easier than music games where they’ll charge you $5- 10 for 2- 5 songs.
CRKD and Gibson have teamed up to produce a completely new Guitar Controller for use in Rock Band, its successor Fortnite Festival, and Guitar Hero.
I knew this would be comparing VR to things like motion controls, Kinect and other products that come and go, but it still amazes me how some don't see the juggernaut VR has become, every tech company is now investing huge amounts into VR and they are doing it for a reason, VR is happening and will grow into a massive industry in it's own right, what we are seeing now is just the tip of the iceburg.
VR is not a mistake, it will be around for a long time, the only decision to be made is how soon you jump in and with what device, but please dont make the mistake of seeing VR as just another simple gaming device, it is so much more than that, if you don't realise it yet, you will.
