basically what this paragraph is saying that it would be better and more "user friendly" if sony were to include a free head set with every ps3 or make them alot cheaper were even the very poor people can afford them so EVERYONE can talk. now check this out....

well... XBlive is so nasty and raciest because MS supplied EVERYONE with a free flimsy head set so EVERYONE gets the right to talk and speak there mind ya know. thats why XBlive is theway it is. now if sony were to include a free cheesy headset in every ps3 i garentee AnalogueHype would be asking sony and PSN to stop being racist and prejudice because EVERYONE would be speaking theor mind ya feel me. so all in all im glad sony didnt give EVERYONE the right to talk cause nowadays most people are assholes XD no offense but even the little kids are racist and nasty. thats why the majority of PSN is mostly adults cause you have to pay 20$-100$ for a headset.

I respectfully disagree. MS doesn't include a free headset in console bundles, which means that people are going out and buying these headsets (which come in a 12month live subscription for example). So why don't Sony start making cheaper headsets available? Because of racist comments? I think the priority is to get a decent reporting system (MS's is hopeless) which will be the foundations for a 'friendlier' online experience.

The tips that the poster left on the site for MS are all reasonable. At least to us on the outside looking in. The thing is it's asking MS to put a lot more accessability into the consumers hands. The way people are talking, it probably won't be a bad thing if they include BluRay. If can help the games get better, than it's a win. As far as the HDD issue, I totally agree with that. Either that, or lower the prices of the HDD substantially. MMOs...I'm still on the fence with that. Cleaning up SBL...self-explanatory. And they need to bring more user created content into their system as well. All the reasons (excuses) that they usually give for not doing it makes no sense to me. They've created their set up, they can work something out to make sure that the user created content is above board and no bugs or pornographic material is used. It works for the PC and the PS3, there's no reason why it can't work for the 360. Besides with the XNA setup happening this fall, it just may turn around.

Sony have went on record many times saying how they are working very hard on Home and how they are taking so long to get it right

they have made several great presentations about Home and are working their hardest to make it available for everyone thise year- so why keep complaining about it?

on a side note: just 5 complaints regarding the Xbox 360 is not nearly enough in my opinion

Microsoft really need to iron out the embarassments regarding hardware issues- RROD is still at large and the console still scratches disks and still sounds like a jet taking off

I agree with Skype, great idea and I agree with BC on all models. Things have got better and Sony should bare the cost to bring it back now. If they did this PS2 would start to phased out a bit sooner, and it would make the migration to PS3 go a lot better.

I dont with the headset. People keep whining about things like HDMI cables and headsets not being included. They exspect Sony to buy these things for everyone, while alot of people wont use them and in the same breathe complain PS3 costs to much. Plus it would bring the quality of the room down if everyone was there. Call me snob, but I think if your not motionvated enough to obtain ANY Blutooth headset, then you probably should be talking outloud online. Sony have done exactly the same thing we love about the HDD. Left it up to us what we use, not made a headset with a Sony stamp on it, and its the only thing that works, you can only use theirs.

I'll disagree with the Delays and Home as 1 issue. I'm sorry, but I'm sick of this generation of games and their "Close enough is close enough to finished, cos we can patch it later" attitude. From the time I had to wait 3 years for the first MGS on PSOne, I knew I had to be patient if I was to be a gamer. Good things take alot of time. RUSHED things turn out crap, RRoD you very much. Has Home even been delayed that much? I thought it didn't have date most of the time. I mean a real date. You cant hold them down to much with someting like Spring, or Summer. Those aren't dates, those are seasons. If they knew exactly themselves they would narrow it down abit from a 1/4 of a year.

These delays have really annoyed me. The PS3 being delayed here in Europe and in other PAL regions was bad enough, but one of the games that got me to buy the PS3, Tekken 6, which was first shown(in teaser form, but so was MGS4) at E3 2005, has still not been released on PS3(it has been in arcades, but only in arcades). Unlike the other major game in this position, Killzone 2, there has been nearly no news on the PS3 version recently(not counting all those rumours of a 360 version), the last thing I read about the game was an article about the North American release of the arcade version. If anything, this has caused me to just lose my enthusiasm for the game.

@Postedup I agree with what your saying about the headsets but I also disagree for a different reason I'm sorry to say but it doesn't matter whether you get free head sets or not there will always be someone who hides behind a mic an blasts out raciest and obscene language online i don't care what network it s on (360 or PS3). No one is free n clear from this sort of thing they need to be more moderated i would never pay for online but if they are going to charge then they should put that money into this sort of thing, if they had better moderating then i could see a good reason to pay for online service.

Now that Jim Ryan is gone just need to remove Herman Hulst from his position! And maybe give Shuhei the position he deserved.

This gen hasn't been the best for games, last gen consoles are still out there and now there's been talk of the PS6 and Xbox Two for a year or so. Many games this gen will be ported to next gen and the cycle will continue. The re-release of the Neo Geo AES+, games on cartridge for £70 ($95), gaming is going back in time. Gaming has gone pricing mad with the high cost of games, consoles and controllers. The men and women at the top are clueless.

It’s always interesting to hear behind-the-scenes stories like this, especially involving veterans like Shuhei Yoshida and leadership figures like Jim Ryan. That said, there are usually multiple sides to decisions at that level. It could be less about not “listening” and more about differences in long-term vision for PlayStation. Yoshida played a huge role in shaping the brand, so whatever the reason, his impact is undeniable.

If true, and I'm inclined to believe it is, it goes to show that Sony lost their way when they became more western/didn't respect the PlayStation origin story. Andrew House and Jack Tretton did great work, but they also didn't try to fundamentally change the PlayStation DNA. Ryan oversaw the death of Japan Studio and a live service direction.

I miss the first three generations of PlayStation. The way they turned PS3 around, we knew they meant business. We were all worried for a bit there around launch. Eventually from 2008 they started shifting slowly. But since Yoshida was fired, it's never been the same. Still enjoy my PS5 daily. I got a backlog dating back to PS2 lol So I'm fine but new games aren't as appealing anymore.

It seems like we were thrown on to the worst timeline possible where everything is too expensive and the wrong people were put in positions that makes the world a shitty place. We could have had Shu as the head of PS but we got the shitty alternative. Same goes for everyone in power around the world. Doesn’t matter the company or country the majority of us got the shitty picks and the world is declining like never before. I do think PS can come out of this because of their studios, talent and IP but they need someone more in touch with gamers leading things like Shu was. They’re still the best place for console gaming imo but it could be much better than it is especially without the massive live service failures. The rest of the world I have a lot less hope for right now. Hopefully the pendulum swings back towards the good ole days but I’m preparing for the worst.

So now there's certifiable proof that Ryan was in fact "fired", as opposed to when it was first announced that he "retired", in order to save face.

There's another guy who recently "retired" as CEO of another large gaming company, after doing a dismantling job as lead for well over a decade.

seems legit, the business man, fires the one who has ideas to move the business forward.

Jim Ryan is the reason why we are entering year 6 since the PS5 launch and many of us don't feel like the PS5 has gotten started as yet.

I hope going forward, we will see a return to form.
