"The NX was going to release towards the end of the year. Wii U Zelda (that looks so good and glorious) was going to release this year. We have recently had Star Fox Zero release which has received less than favourable reviews. We were going to get big showcases at E3 this year and now we have nothing left."

Yeah, that's a lot of assumptions with no basis, aside from Zelda releasing this year being changed.
Nintendo never said the NX was going to release this year, and they never said that they were going to reveal it at E3 this year, either.
That was all an assumption on the part of the gaming community, nothing more or less.
Star Fox Zero has also been getting a pretty nice glut of positive reviews amongst the mix and is currently sitting in the 70's on Metacritic[ and 70 is the same as a 7 on a 1-10 scale, meaning it's not a bad score], with wholly negative reviews being in the distinct minority.
The only thing right, here, is that Nintendo was initially planning on releasing Zelda U this year.
It's disappointing, but plans change, and we'll be seeing tons of Zelda info at this year's E3 to keep us happy, after waiting so long to see something more solid than a mere glimpse.

People see Wii as an success, but I think that is where Nintendo went wrong for their long term plans.

Yes, Wii Sold and Nintendo made bank. But Wii was an anomaly and you know it. Following on it's name they confused everybody with WiiU, on top of that 3rd party support was dead for Nintendo for awhile. (Wii got it? No, they weren't true support. It was just publishers saying: make anything, just anything and put "TheGame" name on it for Wii. Just sell it goddamit!). And underpowered console, which was considerably weaker than XB1/PS4 which already few gamers thought were themselves underpowered.

Nintendo has such amazing IPs, and such amazing fans. I will never count them out. But for me, Wii was the place where Nintendo went wrong. That maybe made Nin more stubborn on their WiiU decisions and the rest is history. 3rd party support is worth more than Exclusives this gen.

This article doesnt even touch on the New 3DS debacle. Once again Nintendo bequeaths the product with a terrible moniker -"New" 3DS? And then devs are unwilling to bet on games for the new device when the "Old" 3DS has sold millions of units. Nintendo has produced 2 lead balloons this gen and they really need a hit to recover.

Engines not the problem per say. If there is a “problem “ it lies in Bethesda’s design philosophy and direction.
