Daniel Meegan over at IGCritic says "Multiplayer is a big business. It’s so big, in fact, that there are many games that seem bafflingly conspicuous by its absence. Not every game needs multiplayer, but there are many for which it would be a great fit"

Aliens Fireteam Elite was my GotY in 2021, single player was kinda bad but playing that game 3 player with friends was so good and really challenging on higher difficulties
Massive shout out to Aliens Vs predator 2 (2001), a dialup lag filled fun mess in multiplayer and 3 great campaigns

Nintendo Switch games that haven't received patches are still getting performance and loading boosts across the board on Switch 2.
Completely disagree. Alien: Isolation, Firewatch, and The Order shouldn't have had MP modes.
Those titles don't have multiplayer modes because that isn't the focus of the game I don't care for multiplayer modes in games that were not created for the concept of.
That being said I of course love multiplayer games that were created and focused on the concept of creating a great multiplayer experience that doesn't necessarily mean that act on single player is something I like or desire just because I love the Bioshock doesn't mean that I love all the single player modes in Battlefield....
Multiplayer modes are big business I don't disagree but GOOD multiplayer modes are big business, not merely tacked on feature if you did not focus the core concept on that feature it's very clear you're not going to get a positive reception multiplayer isn't something you just tack on just like single player isn't something you just tack on.
it's absolutely disrespectful to developers that have spent long years focusing on creating a very powerful narrative it's just as disrespectful to the multiplayer teams that have been crafting their games to be balanced and fair for years.
No one developer cannot rush a concept that they're not even the best in the first place.
It's absolutely disrespectful to the teams that actually really spend large amount of talent focusing on such concepts.
