Star Fox Zero Review | Gamespot

Gamespot:
By the end of my first playthrough, I was eager to go back and retry old levels, in part because I wanted to put my newfound skills to the test, but also because Zero's campaign features branching paths that lead to new locations. Identifying how to open these alternate paths requires keen awareness of your surroundings during certain levels, which becomes easier to manage after you come to grips with Zero's controls. My second run was more enjoyable than the first, and solidified my appreciation for the game. While I don't like the new control scheme, it's a small price to pay to hop into the seat of an Arwing. Though I feel like I've seen most of this adventure before, Zero is a good-looking homage with some new locations to find and challenges to overcome. It doesn't supplant Star Fox 64, but it does its legacy justice.

whew!. from all the reviews ive read of SFZ, they all say that the game is fun, the controls are game changing but must be mastered, but that the game is short with not MUCH to offer after a while. . thankfully the controls work well, even enhance gaming!!

If you are a nervous ancy person, avoid this game.

im not really happy with the scores this game is receiving.. i mean, 7 is good for your average game, but what we are talking about with the starfox franchise is not your average title.. it has a history, a reputation, generations of fans. a 7 in this context is poor.

it would be like releasing a flagship mario title, and it only scoring a 7. its unacceptable.

what happened to nintendo's 'seal of quality' ? what happened to the idea that a game with the nintendo branding= perfection?

it seems to me nintendo more and more are willing to throw these games in the dirt, skimp and scrape on quality and aim solely for high profit. never thought i'd see the day.

it seems it wont be long until mario goes the way of the blue hedgehog

"Steep learning curve" w.t.f?!

Oh and Lichdom sucks hairy balls for PS4. Stay away.

I just dont get why this game is not getting slammed for the graphics, the flattest textures and terrain i have seen in a long time. I put the videos on HD and i am unsure if i am looking at the old N64 version. I am a big fan, i just expected so much more.

Darkfist3672d ago (Edited 3672d ago )

its not worth it getting this game for 60$, and its 3 hours long, seeing some lets play videos, and calling it fun is just fanboy talk, specially the so called co-op(skylanders flying section co-op looks more fun than this)

It's a good ponder. Nintendo would be stupid to not do it. The more titles and first party line up released on the Switch 2 the more enticed the customer will be.

Star Fox Zero, Was it Really That Bad?

Has time been kind to Star Fox Zero? Does the game have any redeeming qualities that are worthy of revisiting? Should it be considered for a port to the Switch? Was it really that bad?

Haven't played it since it came out, but I really enjoyed it. Can't tell if that's just nostalgia-tinted glasses, or if I actually consider it a good game though lol.

Vits1654d ago

It's a mediocre game that reuses ideas, scenarios, characters and moments from previous ones. Paired with one of the worst control methods that I had the displeasure of using.

CptDville1653d ago

Those controls. Boring and frustrating at the same time. Only with co-op they were bearable, but co-op was restricted to finished levels.

SeTTriP1653d ago

Yes couldn't finish it it was so boring.

MissAubrey1653d ago

controls made me stop playing also what good is a 65inch tv when you have to look at a tiny Wiiu tablet.. same with kirby & the rainbow curse..

Einhander19711653d ago

No it was great, just the control scheme spoilt things really. The wii u screen was not needed for it really

I’d rather Star Fox Assault be brought to Switch with online multiplayer instead

Teflon021703d ago

Finally, someone who knows about Assault. Best Star Fox Multi-player imo.

Neonridr1703d ago

or a Star Fox 64 remaster instead.

deadfrag1703d ago

Platinum Games wants to many things but sadly it does not show nothing new for years! They try to jump on all offers but end finishing none!

whitbyfox1703d ago

1: Get rid of the motion controls.

2: Bring us Okami 3.

Good-Smurf1703d ago (Edited 1703d ago )

I rather have them show more of Bayonetta 3 first before they talking about any new project.
This reeks Inafune's funding for Red Ash and Mighty No.9 animated series, both never materialized.
