The only thing I can think of that would win E3 for MS would be just a slew of new IPs. I don't care that much for their existing IPs, so sequels wouldn't do much for me.

Who knows. At this point, I don't know what to expect at a mega ton E3, FF7, Shenmue 3 were sorta what I've wanted for years and years, now I don't really know.

Ms doesn't have much to run as far as exclusives go...maybe a slim xbox...but both Sony and Nintendo will have upgraded systems and ms would take the weakest this gen console tag...they need something huge to complete at the same level this e3. I'm not even sure how Microsoft can surprise people. They have recovered quite well.

Games with Gold, Backwards Compatibility etc. are awesome. My one concern is on the games front. Halo, Gears and Forza aren't the system sellers they once were. Besides those games the exclusives are a little toothless.

I'd like Microsoft to announce a brand new horror game or platformer. Something out of left field.

If they surprise me, they can have my money.

LOVE the idea of trading in digital games, but it would need to be much higher than 10% or based on the time since release date.

They should just do what Sony did at last years e3,announce some fan favorite games but then quietly and slyly mention 'oh but they aint coming out for 2-3 years haha.

It's still my system of choice, and thanks to backward compatibility my library of games keeps growing. It's nice to see a new game under the "games to install," pop up when new games are added. That being said, Sony is simply winning for a variety of reasons. Perhaps the biggest, is that the damn machine just looks way sexier than the betamax looking xbox one. Owning both is awesome however, and I hope they both succeed.

Those are not bad announcements at all but the problem for MS is, Sony will only need one announcement to win E3 and that is TLOU2.

If they launch the exclusive «Halo: Gears of Forza» they will sell more consoles for 24 hours and 10 minutes then the PS4.

I think that if MS talks about anything it will end up in turmoil in the comments. Sony could literally take a dump on a plate live on stage, huck it into the audience and people would be ecstatic.

Don't get me wrong. I'm super stoked to see more about Horizon. It's one of my most sought after titles on my PS4. Still.. I am pretty sure if MS/Xbox were to sell machines that printed money. People would still find a way to make it seem bad.

Anyways. I'm looking forward to all the conferences at E3. Should be a big year.

They need true exclusives and not PCX1 console exclusives. Still i will be very hard to beat Sony.

My thoughts on what MS needs to show/announce at E3 to start stealing the marketshare:

Release a new SKU with an aggressive trade-in price to upgrade for existing users. Comparable if not faster than the PS4K.
- Make the new SKU compatible with Vive/Oculus
- Either Steam Homelink or complete steam functionality
- Make all PC games playable on XB1 via DX12/UWP

Returning classics that get people excited, they have alot of new IPs in the works and more is not a bad thing, but people want to be blown away by something they know.
- Conker/Banjo (fans have been shouting for years about this, with all the teases seems likely)
- Crimson Skies (Ridiculously high fan demand for a next gen dogfighting game)
- L4D3/Portal 3 (Huge title that MS could pull off, compatible with Vive would give Valve a chance to show a fully formed Portal 3 from the demo we saw.)
- PGR (Good ole Arcade action racing to represent Xbox along side the Forza series)
- Silent Hills (There were rumors last year, we all want it to happen)
- Star Wars 1414 (MS is just the team to revive this from the ashes)

Digital trade-ins or Family sharing (Phil said they were tossing ideas around announce a fully realized concept to get people excited)

Emulators! People want retro games and with UWP as long as they can get permission let people know all your old games and Roms can be played in one place.

Finally, shock the world and announce that XBL will be reduced or free to now that W10 marketplace is integrating into XB1.

1. xb1's are now free
2. xbl is now free
3. all games are now free
4. can play ps4 games on xb1 for free
5. can cure cancer.

lol jk x] but seriously, i can't even think of anything that would "win" e3 for ms right now. so far, all of their triple-a titles haven't turned the tides. halo seemed to just drop off the map, and no one's really talking about qb other than the reviews it's getting. sony just has such a monopoly this gen so far, and with uncharted 4 coming out next month, i can only imagine that will be a system seller as well. i hope both shows will be good though~ e3 is fun to watch but has been somewhat weak the past few years.

They need to be relentless, Xbox as a platform has gone down the sh*tter in terms of sales.

Eliminating UWP would be a good one. I'm pretty happy with my X1 though. External storage, 25 hour battery life on controllers, very, very nice custom controllers, backwards compatibility, runs cooler and quieter than my PS4. Let nintendo go under by releasing another gimmick filled half console, and let sony split their userbase and lose consumer trust when they lock games behind neo. Just make excellent games and all will even out.

Personally, i would like to see more cloud computing features in game...discounted compilation games either digital games or older xb1 games like they did for the 360...also, grab full (not timed) exclusive gaming rights to revamped old games that people have been wanting or new ip's from big publishers...shock everyone by announcing a credit of not 10% for digital trades but 30%.....the loophole in their previous announcement regarding the survey being that it was ”exploratory"...that' s how they would win e3 in my book.

Free Xbox Live for a year. Well, it's a start when PS3's done it for nearly 10 years.

Let see possible announcement (given xbox is practically a window 10 pc now)
- steam or equivalent apps on xbox
- all pc games playable on xbox (retrospectively and prospective)
- digital game auction house
- revival of some popular Rare games
- a new slim/upgrade (external add on) that fully support all VR that are available on PC, plus BC and FC
- OG xbox BC
- a more robust/flexible support (a bit more Ram access) for DEV with xbox as a dev kit (it already is). Possible example such as testing out emulators (it would be funny if xbox can run PS1&2, dream cast, N64, etc.. emulators just like PC is running currently, why not since xbox is a window 10 pc now and it is also a dev kit). It would be quite a kick to Sony especially among fans who have to pay PSN to play games (disk & digital) that they already owned on PS1&2. This is totally legal by the way.
- Record/Sea of thieves/scalebound update with gameplay.
- new phantom dust gameplay or lost odyssey sequel announcement.
- new form of cloud application for gaming.

I don't know, just be able to play all pc games, steam apps and running emulators for games that I owned on ps1,2, N64,Dreamcast, Sega, snes,Nintendo on xbox one (as a dev kit) is enough win for me imo.

Phil did say they want to aim for being able to deliver the most contents ever (xbox as dev kit and a window 10 pc did just that).

Tell me again how the multiplatform strategy was supposed to fix everything. Look at your results and compare them to Nintendo, which keeps thriving with exclusives. Your loyal fans are gone. And let’s not forget the pile of IPs you purchased only to let them rot.

The worst thing is this is down from last years numbers/expectations which was down from the previous years numbers/expectations. You think about how long “down” has been a consistent part of the communication and you realize those subscriptions are what’s holding that boat together. The price cut of gamespass is still a price raise in a string of price raises. They are trying to use players to offset the missing revenue. Now call of duty is out of gamespass, which is literally WHY they bought the company. To draw people to the subscription. They realized they missed a boatload of money and that wasn’t sustainable. Now you pay for it like you would have if they never bought the company… so why buy the company? Mind you those billions still need to be paid back. Yeah it gives you a chance to say we make the biggest FPS… but the internal conversations must be brutal at high level on topics that really matter. Like revenue. Profitability. And ROI for the shopping spree.
