Why? I remember buying it at launch - blew me away. Pure innovation.

Sly-Lupin3695d ago

Because Zero is essentially a remake, so it'd be redundant.

Shnazzyone3695d ago

That's odd because nothing I've seen of the game has anything from starfox 64. Like... anything. A few mechanics but everything from the enemies to bosses to additional vehicles looks nothing like starfox 64. I think you're just being salty.

Venoxn4g3695d ago

Starfox 64 remake is on 3ds called starfox 3d.. wiiu version is not a remake as i know

Sly-Lupin3695d ago

The 3DS game is a port. And all the reviews say Starfox Zero is a remake of Starfox 64. Same story, same setting, same characters, and many of the same stages.

Yes, it is an entirely different game... but that's because it's an *actual* remake, and not a port.

OtakuDJK1NG-Rory3695d ago

*many of the same stages -well duh it's takes place in they Lylat System.

*same characters - well duh they said it's a reboot

*same story - well yes but they rewrote it

*same setting - okay and?

It a reboot. Star Fox 64 3D is a remake not a port.

Everything was redone.

EddieNX 3695d ago

Wow no mate. It's an entirely different game. different from the ground up in every way.

Dumpling3694d ago

:v youre the one who's salty buddy. Go talk shit somewhere else.

@Sly-Lupin

So, I take it from that you aren't interested or have been in any remake, remaster or (let's be honest) rehash of previous games in any established IP? Besides, myself not included, but how about those who haven't sampled any Star Fox to date...

So many reasons why what you said is untrue and/or crap.

Sly-Lupin3695d ago

Of course not. I love remakes, and even indulge in the occassional remaster or port when the mood takes me.

Thing is, though, buying Starfox Zero and Starfox 64 is redundant. It'd be like buying Ocarina of Time for the WiiU virtual console the same day you buy the 3DS port. I mean, yeah, you could do that... but it'd be a redundant purchase, and from almost every perspective the shiny new release is going to offer a superior experience.

It's a good ponder. Nintendo would be stupid to not do it. The more titles and first party line up released on the Switch 2 the more enticed the customer will be.

Star Fox Zero, Was it Really That Bad?

Has time been kind to Star Fox Zero? Does the game have any redeeming qualities that are worthy of revisiting? Should it be considered for a port to the Switch? Was it really that bad?

Haven't played it since it came out, but I really enjoyed it. Can't tell if that's just nostalgia-tinted glasses, or if I actually consider it a good game though lol.

Vits1674d ago

It's a mediocre game that reuses ideas, scenarios, characters and moments from previous ones. Paired with one of the worst control methods that I had the displeasure of using.

CptDville1673d ago

Those controls. Boring and frustrating at the same time. Only with co-op they were bearable, but co-op was restricted to finished levels.

SeTTriP1673d ago

Yes couldn't finish it it was so boring.

MissAubrey1673d ago

controls made me stop playing also what good is a 65inch tv when you have to look at a tiny Wiiu tablet.. same with kirby & the rainbow curse..

Einhander19711673d ago

No it was great, just the control scheme spoilt things really. The wii u screen was not needed for it really

I’d rather Star Fox Assault be brought to Switch with online multiplayer instead

Teflon021722d ago

Finally, someone who knows about Assault. Best Star Fox Multi-player imo.

Neonridr1722d ago

or a Star Fox 64 remaster instead.

deadfrag1723d ago

Platinum Games wants to many things but sadly it does not show nothing new for years! They try to jump on all offers but end finishing none!

whitbyfox1723d ago

1: Get rid of the motion controls.

2: Bring us Okami 3.

Good-Smurf1722d ago (Edited 1722d ago )

I rather have them show more of Bayonetta 3 first before they talking about any new project.
This reeks Inafune's funding for Red Ash and Mighty No.9 animated series, both never materialized.
