Hands on with PlayStation VR - N3rdabl3

"I’m done. You win games industry. After being on the fence about VR for months I now find myself completely behind VR as both a gaming genre and platform. PlayStation have once again proved to me that VR is a thing and it is going to work wonders for both developers and gamers alike."

anyone that has tried VR knows this is a GAME changer be it on ps4 or pc even on my phone with gear vr fishing is amazing. even cynical brit aka totalbiscuit agrees and he hates everything pretty much.

Yes, it does seem like this is a common chain of events:

- Scoffs at VR price
- Calls VR 'the next worthless gimmick'
- Actually tries VR
- Enjoys VR
- Wants VR

I wonder if the next part will be 'Buys VR'? Early signs are pretty good for VR, that much we do know. I'm up for it, personally.

I'm in for sure, I haven't pre ordered, but as soon as I can find one I'm in.

My money is ready.

Personally I have not tried VR just yet, however I do believe that this is a product that is essential to try first before you make a decision.

In the case of the PSVR any prospective buyer should try the cinema mode as well as VR games since it may be possible that some would like the cinema experience in watching movies, shows and even playing some none VR games than actually playing VR games.

Of course the main attraction will be VR games but even for an avid gamer not all VR games will be compelling. For instance I have never been a fan of on-rail shooters or racing for that matter so those types of games categories are not attractive to me. For other gamers the reverse may be true.

As I have said at the start try a range of things before you make a decision and for the unfortunate few who can't use a VR device then it would be best to find out before you buy and regret your decision.

Will I get a PSVR? I would like to think so even if it is just to play normal games from my PS4. I think that The Witcher 3 and Bloodborne would be amazing on a huge virtual screen. Unfortunately I do think my wife would also like to watch some of her preferred shows on a PSVR as well. 😉

You my friend said it best, you said your not into racing or on rails shooters....guess what that's the beauty of vr. It changes your view on otherwise games you would never play. I'm like you I hate flight sims and racing but man I've tried vr, and now ace combat 7 is one of my most anticipated games

Is a obvious game changer!
The only one that say otherwise are the Xbots. Even they, last gen are hyped with the VR, to play Halo with it. But this gen, i don't know what happen. They change their mind and now they prefer the Kinect. /s

Are a bunch of games, some of which are nearly 10 years old not one being from 2026. Barely one from 2025.

I do like the irony of the closing paragraph though, "Why VR Adventure Games are Thriving". Really buddy?

mooreneco2144d ago

That’s because it’s his favourite VR adventure games thus far, a great game always a great game regardless of age - Half life 2/ Ocarina of time - are old but still among the greatest games of all time. The irony of it is several are from last year, depending on platform, have you even played VR?
