When a major Japanese news media, Nikkei, published a story that Nintendo was going to stop production of the Wii U in 2016, for many this did not sound like a surprise. Nintendo has not confirmed this and informed that it has no plans to stop manufacturing Wii U consoles any time soon. The question remains though why Wii U fell behind its two main competitors.

The rejection is non-final (and even when such rejections are labeled as “final”, the process is far from over, given that there can be, at minimum, an appeal to the Federal Circuit).
Good, as they should! A game mechanic like that shouldn't be locked behind a patent, and Nintendo didn't invent it either.
Nintendo wants to keep wasting money on bullshit lawsuits, real smart in this economy. They should put that money aside for other game projects. On the other hand, I don't care if they waste it all either, and they are screwed in the future maybe that will teach them a lesson.

Nintendo completed its share repurchase and set its secondary offering price at 8,347 yen ahead of March 16 delivery.

Nintendo filed a lawsuit in the United States Court of International Trade.
Nintendo of America is suing the United States government over the sweeping tariffs President Donald Trump put in place last year, according to a complaint filed Friday in the U.S. Court of International Trade and obtained by Aftermath.
LOL I read this on gaff, will they refund the money back to the gamers? highly unlikely. Didn't they just raise prices and pass it onto the gamers? Only Nintendo would send out the Ninjas to the US government.
I've had my since launch, sure there's been some major dry patches but i've still enjoyed the system. ZombiU even ranks as one of my fave horror titles
The people thought Nintendo would actually stop production of the Wii U this year are absurd. Nintendo hasn't even globally discontinued the decade old DS or Wii, yet some actually thought Nintendo would prematurely pull the plug on their current console.
The Wii U is a console that's worthwhile for some but offputting for others.
no super mario 64 spiritual successor or sequel = fail.
Ive loved my Wiiu since day 1 im typing this on the gamepad right now. At times it almost felt as if Nintedo were deliberately making bad decisions with the console. I know if some of my own ideas were used it would of sold more than it has and I bet you can probably say the same.
Just too many "I wish they'd do this or do that" issues. Still one of my favorite consoles in its own silly way. Let's hope NX is more like GC an N64
The exclusives are great.
