They joined with Codemasters, the team gets to stay together.

Just submitted the article.

Crazyglues3596d ago (Edited 3596d ago )

Ok this was not where I wanted them to go, I was hoping they would join RockStar and work on GTA 6 - to give that game an amazing Driving feel, with unreal in-car views, But I am super happy they found a home..

DriveClub really did some amazing things, the weather effects, especially the rain on the windshield effect was some of the best rain I've ever seen in a video game, and While a lot of people hated on the racing it was actually done really well.

They also had amazing graphics and some of the best in-car renders I have ever seen.

Bringing their talent to CodeMasters is going to be a match made in heaven, As GRID 1 was an amazing racing game...

They will probably do some amazing things there / I'm super excited to see what racing game they will make together.. will probably be amazing.

This is some Awesome News for us Racing fans..

Null19803596d ago

Sorry they didn't cater to your specific desire? I'm really not sure why they didn't run it by you first.

Crazyglues3596d ago (Edited 3596d ago )

@ Otter X

What? ... Are you serious... Did you even read what I said..

I made a small joke comment about wanting them to go to Rockstar so GTA 6 would have amazing driving and this is what you say...

I guess people really don't read past the first 2 lines...

Guess you missed the part where I said super excited they found a home...

Now that I see the 4 disagrees I guess there are a few people who don't read past 2 lines...LoL (wow)

-But yeah to answer your question.. -I don't know why they didn't run it by me first, I would have told them we would love to have you guys here at Rockstar..

-oh well, all in all still amazing news..

Null19803596d ago

@Crazyglues Yea sorry, I see that now. I usually don't read walls of text if I read nonsense in the first paragraph. My bad.

Forn3596d ago

This is great news. I'm excited to see what Evolution will do next.

Crazyglues3596d ago

Yeah super excited to see what they do, it's a perfect fit with CodeMasters being such an amazing racing car developer studio.

Hoffmann3597d ago (Edited 3597d ago )

Finally some really cool news.

Team_Litt3597d ago (Edited 3597d ago )

I thought folks here said that most of them were placed in other Sony studios.

Great news, now that can make pretty racing games with awesome game play.

Crimzon3597d ago

Folks here also said that the huge amount of layoffs at the studio last year were perfectly normal. Folks here lie a lot.

Stogz3596d ago

Folks here also used Fable Legends as an X1 exclusive when making all their 2016 game lists, but when it was cancelled everyone said they were happy because it looked bad. You're right! People do lie a lot here...

TwoForce3597d ago

Well, we never know. But nonetheless, it good to see them join Codemaster, because Codemaster have a lot of potential to make a really good racing game with Evo members joined them. What Evo done to Driveclub was amazing, so I can't wait for this.

freshslicepizza3596d ago

and best of all more people will be able to enjoy what they offer since codemasters is third party. their next game will also likely come to the pc, which to me is great news.

Kribwalker3596d ago

I also believe folks here called out MS stating they should be like Sony and when they close down a studio they'd still keep the employees....

On topic

I'm interested to see what they'll work on next

rainslacker3596d ago

Sony themselves said they were going to move some of them to other studios.

Codemasters appears to have recruited the core team from Evolution. I'm not sure what that consists of since "core" varies from studio to studio.

It's unreasonable to assume that codemasters would have hired on the entire staff, since that would be redundant for them unless they plan on creating a new studio out of them.

EA SPORTS™ WRC - Development Update

An update on EA SPORTS™ WRC.

Dear Rally Community,

Every great journey eventually finds its finish line, and today, we announce that we've reached the end of the road working on WRC.

Knushwood Butt290d ago

'It marked the first time the studio had used the license in 18 years since 2022’s Colin McRae Rally 3.'

Can you not get AI to do proofreading?

TheColbertinator290d ago

Weird article written by a bot.

In any case I knew EA would ruin Codemasters.

badboyz09289d ago (Edited 289d ago )

Codemasters will likely close soon😞

Here’s the deal with this bullsh*t, and this is the single reason I f*cking hate digital, this wouldn’t be so much an issue if these people would give an announcement before they pull their games so people have a chance to get them before they’re gone. I mean, how hard is that to do?

Like, I prefer digital for the convenience of it and making me less of a hoarder, but stuff like this can drive me up the wall and I’m aware this also happens with physical games, but you can still acquire a game from eBay, though all scalped to hell, whereas digital you’re SOL… unless you have a PC.

spicelicka333d ago

Not to mention they also replace old base games with "bundles" back at full price. Some of the old and shittiest COD games are still full price on digital stores.

phatak333d ago (Edited 333d ago )

yup everything you said is correct, but with digital you can also acquire it lol thanks to piracy, thats what made me a pirate . Spec ops the line got delisted last year and I just pirated it and never looked back, unfortunately these bigger publishers dont care about older games so dont even give a reminder, so if they dont even care about their own older games, why should I help them with their new games, ill pirate those as well. GOG is the best, you dont even need to pirate those, the games literally dont have any drm, and you can keep the files permanently too.

Michiel1989333d ago

the reason why i hate digital is because in 20 years when the servers go down, you can't play single player games anymore because shitty fucking companies want you to login to some arbitrary service to pad the numbers.

When a company like GoG does better than a titan like Sony, you know how terrible the state of gaming is.

Vits333d ago

Technically you are not wrong, only forgot to add Rights Management after the "digital".

CantThinkOfAUsername333d ago

These games had exactly 0 players. If you haven't played any of them by now you really didn't care in the slightest. Suddenly you're dying to play one of these classic turds? Sail to cs.rin.ru.

MrWood333d ago

Your right, if you click on the article vs the clickbait picture showing new and modern games, they are all old games I’ve never even heard of.

Zeke68333d ago

If you never heard of any of these games, are you even a gamer? ;)

Classic PS4 Racer DriveClub Is Now a Decade Old

PushSquare:

DriveClub, the legendary PS4 racer from shuttered Runcorn studio Evolution, has such an interesting story.

Originally announced alongside the PS4, the game had been intended as a launch title – we even played it in a big London church Sony had rented to showcase the new system prior to its release.

Evolution was done dirty... DC is still the most stunning visual game of its generation. They certainly deserved better in the end.

VenomUK493d ago (Edited 493d ago )

DriveClub was pretty and I loved the experience of driving in the rain, it was immersive. I had some good races with people from an old forum, but at times I found it to be a bit boring. MotorStorm was such a fun game to play and I loved the controls - it would make sense to remaster that.

DarXyde493d ago

I'd give the visual showcase award of the last generation to The Order: 1886. That game was immaculate.

Uncharted 4 was also absolutely insane, and perhaps manages to use the PS4's power in extremely clever ways.

jznrpg493d ago

It didn’t get good reviews unfortunately

obidanshinobi493d ago

Cause the game was mediocre at best, and surpassed in pretty much every area by Forza Horizon 2.

IRetrouk493d ago

Apart from visuals, driving model, weather effects, only thing forza had was an open world...

Inverno493d ago (Edited 493d ago )

It's multiplayer component was the only thing struggling at launch but the game was still perfectly playable offline. Done dirty is an understatement because how many games after came out with broken online components that got a pass? Now games with an SP and MP get separate reviews for SP and MP smh! SONY shut them down as if Evo had been bleeding money instead of putting out great games. Their fate was undeserved and they were the targets of a media smear campaign due to that one trailer.

Knushwood Butt493d ago

Loved it.
Now here's a game that would benefit from a remaster.
4K, 60 FPS
I'd buy it.

ravens52493d ago

Might have to fire it up. Got it day 1, it was great to me.

outsider1624493d ago

See? Another reason why physical is important. Going all digital will have you miss out games like this.

Gabrielmpf493d ago

I loved tackling the leaderboards. It's a shame they couldn't even keep them.

Yi-Long493d ago

Brilliant game, I really miss it, and it deserved so much better than what Sony did to it.
Most important reason I liked it; It was FUN. That’s it. The actual gameplay, throwing a car around corners, the challenging AI opponents, the entertaining tracks which were peak-design, etc etc, it was above all just FUN to play.
