PushStartPlay: An hour with PlayStation VR

Andy from PushStartPlay writes: I had already made my mind up. I was firmly going with team HTC Vive. Before that I was an Oculus Rift fanboy. But now? I don’t know. After a trip to London yesterday to Eurogamer Expo’s (EGX) Rezzed event, my emotions have been put in dizzy spell as I *think* I’ve fallen in love with PlayStation’s new virtual reality headset.

So glad i got my pre order down, i just want a full list if games that will be available on launch as rigs just doesnt seem my type of game as good as it may be.

I heard a reviewer say if the Rigs dev team added a sprint button and launch pads to send your mech flying through the air, it would be a faster paced experience and would make the game better. In its current state she said, it feels slow. October is still far out, hopefully things will get polished.

They'll probably speed it up in the future (and other games too) but for now they don't want a few of the weaker humans vomiting all over and giving it bad press.

I have my PS VR bundle preordered, I can't wait.

More fantastic impressions. One of the most exciting prospects of this (at least for me) is the cinema mode. I was watching Uncharted 4's recent preview videos on my Gear VR, and although there is a screen-door effect on the device, it looked so great.

If cheaper hardware can offer that kind of quality to me for 2D viewing, PSVR's cinema mode is going to blow my mind when playing these games. Uncharted 4 is going to looks SOOOO good on it. Ratchet & Clank? Oh baby...

My pre-order is secure.

This is extremely positive. I've been sold on this since it was announced and I have been sold again and again since. Rigs is a day one for me.

Are a bunch of games, some of which are nearly 10 years old not one being from 2026. Barely one from 2025.

I do like the irony of the closing paragraph though, "Why VR Adventure Games are Thriving". Really buddy?

mooreneco2156d ago

That’s because it’s his favourite VR adventure games thus far, a great game always a great game regardless of age - Half life 2/ Ocarina of time - are old but still among the greatest games of all time. The irony of it is several are from last year, depending on platform, have you even played VR?
