When you fight Ornstein and Smough.

seanpitt233693d ago

I think the more you play it the better you become I have completed all the dark souls and bloodborne and have just received my copy of dark souls 3 so going to dive in that world later.

BiggerBoss3693d ago (Edited 3693d ago )

That fight was the WORST (doesn't help I was using a lighting weapon)

Finally beating it though was the greatest feeling ever, and that's why Dark Souls shouldn't allow an "easy mode"

Tdmd3693d ago

I've always though that 4Kings was harder.

wsoutlaw873693d ago

Really? If you used the right weapons you could kill them as they come.

joab7773692d ago

No. When it's based on a broken game. Either lag or broken code. DS is fair and when you die it's your fault. This is not frustration. At least for me frustration is when you can't do anything because the game isn't working as intended, or it is but it was built wrong.

ZaWarudo3693d ago

Just git gud.

Seriously, these games are some of the most rewarding gaming experiences out there.

freshslicepizza3693d ago

it becomes an issue when it's due to the control issues and if the part of the game becomes really cheap. if i keep dying in a game and it's because i am stuggling with the controls i simply stop playing. that is poor design and some games actually won't allow you to customize your controls. other games for example a boss requires multiple hits but if you get even a whiff of a hit you instantly die. that is cheap. neither scenario is acceptable to me.

but if experience pays off like the souls games then that to me is perfectly acceptable. you can learn from your mistakes. i just don't like some of the controls they give you.

wsoutlaw873693d ago

Thats what the creators of the souls games have been saying. It just needs to be fair. If you mess up and die then its your fault and easily fixable. Every boss is learnable, you just have to pay attention. If you have trouble in a souls game you can also just level up, or invite a friend.

Hoffmann3693d ago

When Does Difficulty Become Frustration?

When you are not able to understand how to beat bosses/levels/opponents

Or if you are just not able to press a button fast enough sometimes.

I know people that can't even dash forward in Street Fighter.

Mr Lahey3693d ago

When you need to git gud..

SlightlyRetarted3693d ago

During boss fights, does the liquor do the thinking, Mr Lahey?

OpenGL3693d ago

He can't enjoy it because he's trying to play Souls like any other game and is unwilling to learn its mechanics or enemy movesets.

Sony Pictures Produces Animated Film of Bloodborne Game

Sony Pictures announced at CinemaCon on Monday that it is producing an animated R-rated film adaptation of FromSoftware's Bloodborne game. PlayStation Productions, Lyrical Animation, and YouTuber jacksepticeye (Seán McLoughlin) are producing the film, with Sony Pictures and Lyrical Animation parent company Lyrical Media co-financing the film.

Anything but a sequel or remaster I suppose.

CantThinkOfAUsername35d ago

Hopefully this will renew interest in the franchise and Sony can see the potential.

jznrpg35d ago

I’m sure for a sequel they would want to get Miyazaki for it and he’s a busy person, They could do it without him but he wouldn’t be happy with that and I doubt they want to upset him. Hopefully it lines up with his schedule. Who knows they could be working on it now but I won’t get my hopes up until something is announced.

Lionsguard35d ago

At this point, I'm expecting Sony to endorse Yaoi fan-fic before they even entertain the idea of a remaster or sequel or even just a PS5 upgrade.

gerbintosh34d ago

You must have missed the story where FromSoftware stated they do not want to make a sequel or remaster of Bloodborne.

But then again, maybe Sony should force them to remaster the game because people who are forced to do things they dont like always put their best effort in. /s

So FromSoftware really went

“F*** no are Bluepoint making a remake”

To

“A YouTuber making an animated film? Of course”

Redgrave35d ago

Say what you will about Jacksepticeye's involvement, but I suppose it comes down to how much creative freedom he has in making it.

Iron Lung, while not exactly in the same conversation as Bloodborne, was a perfectly serviceable and quite well made adaptation made by a YouTuber.

Jack at least understands the fan base and such so if he doesn't experience too much corporate interference or what you may call it, it could turn out pretty good.

MrBaskerville35d ago (Edited 35d ago )

Wasn't it Markiplier that made Iron Lung?

And there's more to filmmaking and storytelling than understanding a fanbase. I want a good movie. Maybe he can do it, maybe he can't, we'll see. But i expect nothing.

Tapani35d ago

What are you on about? Sony owns the IP, not FromSoftware. They have zero say in what is done with Bloodborne.

-Foxtrot35d ago (Edited 35d ago )

No but it’s been said how they apparently didn’t want Bluepoint touching the game and Sony respecting their wishes

Michiel198935d ago

oh the youtuber/streamer hate is back, i knew it before i read the comments. So fucking pathetic, acting like they aren't humans and can't do anything right.

-Foxtrot35d ago

Lmao. Ooooft. Touched a nerve 😂

Michiel198935d ago

not really, its just that the same old tale gets repeated and repeated by a bunch people who have contributed nothing to the gaming industry and just mindlessly hate someone else who is actually trying to do something cool, but it can't be because they're a streamer/youtuber in your twisted mind.

-Foxtrot35d ago

Producing a film still puts you in the driving seat, you are responsible for so many things including picking the director, writer and the entire team to make it.

Making / producing, regardless, it’s still a big role.

gold_drake35d ago

to be fair, hes not making it per se.

and i guess hes a good fit for it, given how big of a fan he is

Lords of the Fallen sales top 2.5 million

Lords of the Fallen has sold over 2.5 MILLION copies!

As of end of February 2026, the game has officially broken even.

Huge thanks to every player, supporter, and fan who made this possible. More to come – stay tuned!

Daver60d ago

I don't understand why it's only 2.5m sales, the game was very good even when it launched.

Nacho_Z59d ago

Struggled with past reputation maybe, I think a lot of people were against the reboot from the start even though it was a solid game to say the least. I think the new game will do well, it's the first of theirs I'd consider buying day one.

MrDoubleP58d ago

Multiple reason i would say. It was Decent game, even with its issues on launch.
- The confusion of the title, as it is a semi-reboot/sequel, but with the same title as the first game.
- Because the original was so unpopular it had a hard time finding its audience through it.
- Because it is a soulslike, it has a hard time finding an audience.
- The noise on how the performance was on launch will always turn people away.
- The Game director is quite the personality, which has turned many off trying it out after all the fixes.
- The director going on about not having turned a profit on the game yet, making people think it isn't worth their time.
- The sequel going epic games exclusive, makes many not wanting to support the devs, because games can't be anywhere but steam apparently.
- probably several more reasons, but those are quite a few.

This game is actually so good. Miles ahead of the 2014 game. I'd say its to dark souls what Lies of P os to bloodborne

Darkseeker59d ago (Edited 59d ago )

I can't wait for Lord of the Fallen 2. I liked the first one better than Lies of P and I am glad I bought it day one. Certainly better than the 2014 one. Hell, it wasn't even from the same developer. Lies of P forces you to pretty much parry all the time, meh.
