Here is Digital Foundry's Analysis

http://www.eurogamer.net/ar...

Looks really solid.

Thisgengaming3706d ago

That's very early in the game, and it does run well early. There's sections later in the game that run terribly.

Aloy-Boyfriend3706d ago

Back at it again at only including the PS4 in the title when it is both consoles having the issue

Thisgengaming3706d ago

@XiKurapikaKurta Thanks for confirming it's both consoles having the issue. I have changed the title.

Nitrowolf23706d ago

This is pretty much a normal for souls game, there's always that one section that the fps just goes to shit

Looking at you blight town

I'll trust Digital Foundry (the experts in this field) rather than thisgengaming.com (the trolly tabloid). They say first look at DS3 is fine.

Even NXGamer is leagues above this website, despite having next to no budget. They're trustworthy too, with well founded, fact-based opinions, which is something of a novelty around these parts...

raWfodog3706d ago

@ nX and G20WLY

To be fair, even Digital Foundry addressed the frame-rate issue and Thisgengaming did say the game is still brillant and the best played so far this year.

assdan3706d ago

They always have had this issue.

frostypants3706d ago (Edited 3706d ago )

So, it's like every Souls game ever made? Frame rate issues come with the territory.

DrumBeat3706d ago

Man, Xbox One couldn't even render the HUD at a native 1080p. It's also curious that the Xbox One hands in a worse performance with resolution and shadow quality dialed back.

Still, if you're an Xbox One only owner, it's worth it to get this game. It's Souls after all.

Unfortunately, From Software aren't particularly strong in this area. All of their Souls-type games last gen and this gen have had various framerate issues.

wheresmymonkey3706d ago

Having played through most of it, I can say, on the PS4 at least, that even early on it runs like crap. you'll walk round a corner and the frame rate will plummet from 30ish frames to a juddery heap.

Weirdly the places it did it in the early sections of the game ran fine when i played the preview build a few weeks back.

Basically i think the day one patch has done more harm than good.

IamTylerDurden13706d ago

Souls typically doesn't have a great framerate. The combat is a slight bit clunky as well, this is where Bloodborne shined by comparison (responsive combat).

This why i'm so excited for the PS4 exclusive "Nioh". Team Ninja will have fluid and tight combat in a Souls esque game. It looks stunning.

Pre Alpha footage, wow imo.

frostypants3706d ago (Edited 3706d ago )

Too cartoony both in look and movement. Part of what I like about Soulsborne games is characters have some weight to them. You can't just fly all over the place like a Street Fighter character. Nioh on the other hand looks too God of War/arcade-like. I see them trying to play to the Souls "die a lot" concept, but it looks like they kind of missed a lot of what made Souls successful.

Looks fun, but I don't like them trying to market it like a Souls game. It looks WAY different.

PFFT3705d ago

Mother of GOD! That looks amazing! Koei Tecmo has been on a roll recently! This game looks freakinng sweet!

I'm still looking forward to it. Issues like this will be patched soon.

Wallstreet373706d ago (Edited 3706d ago )

Since when does Fromsoft ever patch their games to fix fps drops or frame pacing on consoles? Lol never.

thekhurg3706d ago

Why are people disagreeing. They haven't patched for frame pacing issues ever.

Wallstreet373706d ago (Edited 3706d ago )

thekhurg...

The same reason i had ppl disagreeing and talking crap when i stated in another article that "they have worked on this engine too long to be having frame pacing and fps drop issues in their Souls/BB games and they have no excuse to fall on". Some people cant be fans and be critical or open minded to certain things. Not all companies are perfect and deserve to be called out or pushed forward to do better.

Funny thing is im one of the biggest Fromsoft fans and have beat all the souls games and platted BB but ppl said i was trolling lol smfh

Its really weird to me how ppl get defensive when you criticize their favorite company. Its like their blind to all the negative and see only the positive.

Anyway my Dark Souls 3 CE will be arriving soon, i cant wait. And yes i buy fromsoft games because even though there are performance issues the positives far outweigh the negatives.

IamTylerDurden13706d ago

They patched Bloodborne like the first wk or 2, it fixed the framerate dramatically.

Wallstreet373706d ago (Edited 3706d ago )

Iamtyler...

I have BB and the patch came out more than two weeks after and honestly before that i hardly had any fps issues so that patch did nothing for me. From what i remember that patch was mostly to fix the horrible loading times, some bugs and maybe some performance issues but i saw no difference in fps so that dramatic fps change you say wasnt dramatic to me lol (hey i could be wrong)

They never ever fixed frame pacing issues which was the main issue with the game.

From Software is the new TellTale with their weird ass engine

isa_scout3706d ago

Nowhere near as bad as TellTales engine.

timmyp533706d ago

it's not as bad as in the straight up bugs that happen with TT but they need to revamp it soon.

quent3706d ago

There were some crazy performance issues with their Game of thrones series, the rest of their games ran fine though, for me at least.

Blastoise3706d ago

Come on From Software step it up. It's getting annoying now.

solidboss3706d ago (Edited 3706d ago )

Bethesda with fallout, from software with the soul's games and tell tale with all of their games. Gamers are aware and tired of shitty game engines GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER.

solidboss3705d ago

So you accept companies that use old game engines with glaring issues rather then take the time to develop a new engine that will benefit from not having the game held back by issues from said older engines?

frostypants3705d ago (Edited 3705d ago )

@solidboss, yes, I accept it. If it's a big enough issue to make the game not be worth the money to me, I won't buy the game. We don't have to give them our money. I'm not seeing your problem. If you still buy the game, clearly it doesn't bother you to an extent that will ever be meaningful to the developer.
