Warframe was a great example of how F2P can work but lately they have been ramping up the grind to a point that is killing the fun.

As for the community being respectful, I disagree. The Warframe community is filled with whiny, entitled and spoiled brats that scream and kick about anything and constantly complain or spam the chat with "riot" when things don't go their way. To DE's credit, they take it all in stride and work with the community to an unprecedented level. Unfortunately, this only encourages the bad behavior in the community. Having and expressing an opinion is always a good thing, but sometimes DE would be miles ahead to simply tell some of the more vocal complainers to grow the hell up.

While I agree that the grind is real, I also still think that they do F2P very well. The "money" that you speak of can be easily obtained with patience and ingenuity. That can't be said for most F2P games that I know. For them, at some point, there's a paywall. The only real paywall in Warframe are aesthetic enhancements...and even some of those can be free from the trader and reduced with the luck of RNG and some of those 50% off login rewards.
Overall, it does it right. But, the grind is REAL at times.

Very much so, and I sure hope so. I do recall that people pointed that out for System Shock as well (I think that problem has been solved now).

I just downloaded it on my phone a few weeks ago and the framerate isn't bad if you set it to 60hz. I suspect the switch 2 version should fair better interms of performance.

It's originally a game released in 2013, obviously a lot has been changed since, but still the base code for this game was in development before at least 2011, which means that thing was probably going to run on PS3 and XB360 with a few tweaks, Digital Extremes just chose to skip into next gen... Someone would have had to majorly fuck up for the Switch 2 not to run Warframe smoothly, a game with 15 year old mid power target specs! It's a very light and optimized game by now anyway, it famously runs well on relatively old notebooks with CPU integrated graphics... Hell, even the mobile version manages to not run like ass.

The game has received many quality of life updates since the PS4 days and receives content drops several times per year. The best part is that it is not pay to win.

It is a great way to unwind, but you will need to be active in the community to play this game. Most of the mechanics are explained by youtubers, forum posts and wiki pages.

The updates and community keeps the game going.
