I mean don't get me wrong I got a RROD (Lucky I already had my PS3 sitting there laughing at the damn thing when it did), but we really do need them around to throw money at company's and help support them if they release a flop game. Look at it really. They gave Take 50 Million for GTA DLC and Gears only cost 10 million to make. We really need them around to be stupid.

With Sony coming out with games like LBP that are integrated with HOME extensively, it really makes sense that HOME should be coming out this Fall as well to coincide with the release of LBP or to be released soon after LBP, but it's good to finally hear a confirmed release after so many delays.

when he says itl be out this year

he means the Open Beta

see they look at home as ALWAYS changing, it never stops, so for them the open beta is just something theyl keep expanding on, you wont see the open beta and then the actual thing come and have to download it again

a series of patches will slowly turn this "beta" into what can be considered the final build

id say september/october for the open beta

Your post isn't right. The PS3 was only delayed 5 months in Europe. (Released November in US, Japan-March in EU)

I would take delayed over buggy any day.

The mart are you just mad that Microsoft doesn't give a sh|t about it's customers and shows no appreciation to them and gives them nothing for free. Home is free...so who is complaining about waiting for a free product that's been tested to death to get the absolute best experience. Not many PS3 owners. Just those people who will never get to experience it themselves because they are too busy wrapping a towel around their console of choice.

mean to sound skeptical but i will believe this when i actually see it on the store. but they have have been adding alot of ppl to the beta lately so hopefully this might mean they have made great progress with the service and are ready to show it to the world.

i cant wait!! This software or program..whatever you wanna call it is sooo worth the wait by me..as long as Sony's doing right and making this 3d avatar-type world for the PS3 community right then im happy its been delayed for an amount of time to get the game perfect for us! :D :D :D

You realise that devs choose the pricing of their products on PSN and Xbox Live?
Microsoft didn't make Braid $15. The developer did. Devs have a choice between 3 different prices: 400MSP, 800MSP, 1200MSP.

Now I understand Microsoft has its flaws but to think Sony is flawless is stupid and ignorant.

It should come out this year. Especially considering that it was supposed to come out last year.

When Xbox Live suffered downtime at Christmas, Microsoft apologised and put a game up for free.

just 2 weeks ago it was beta 00.97.0 so Sony are fixing and working on this.

i bet you had dre last gen at the launch of ps2, and i also bet you didn't hesitate to buy a launch ps3. to make a better bet, i bet that you will use the rrod excuse for the launch of the next box.

people do you really think that HOME it's going to make PSN better? for me it looks a little bit complicated and i just want functionality like live not interaction with custom made characters. i mean, in what way this could make a better online experience while playing for example resistance? HOME seems more like an interaction portal to make friends, talk and all that more than something that should make the online experience better/easier with more functionality and ways to communicate with friends during an online game.

and please don't start clicking the ignore button because i am just making a question...

but it's not like games like Little Big Planet, SOCOM, Fat Princess, Motorstorm: PR, Resistance 2, and so many awesome multi-plats will be LESS enjoyable if HOME doesn't come out.

i think the delay from last year to this year was because last year, HOME had a HUGE focus on non-gamers. it was when Sony was trying to get non-gamers interested in the console, a la Nintendo.

at GC this year, they showed a new direction geared toward us gamers, and i'm sure the past 6 months or so have been Sony communicating with various third parties to get their support for HOME, maybe not at launch, but at LEAST in the planning stages so later games can implement it.

i mean, the first and second party games are covered in HOME, but i'm sure it will take time for third parties to get up to snuff.

i like the new gamer-centric focus in HOME, but it won't spoil the last few months of the year if it ultimately gets delayed again.

with that said, i think it's going to come out before years end. simply because there is still some positive buzz swirling around HOME, and if it were to slip into next year, i think a lot of that buzz would die down, and many an irritated news post would be erected around the net.

PS3 games like Resistance, Motorstorm, Lair, Heavenly Sword, ect.. were going to demolish the 360 to oblivion- FAILED!

MGS4 was supposed to put the final nail in the 360's coffin- FAILED!

The almighty FW 2.4 was supposed to...well we all know what it was supposed to do- FAILED!

The amount of stuff you can do in Home is just extraordinary. Imagine inviting an online friend to go inside your house, allowing them to view posters on the walls, frames on the tables (all by importing them from your SD card or whatever). Or how about the ability to sit through and watch a movie on a big screen tv in your house, with friends.
Home is like Second Life for the consoles, I say, if it's attempted, and done right. People will forget about fancy "blades" of data via Xbox Live. I have both a ps3 and 360, so it's not a biased position.
What is frightening me at the moment, is the fact that the guys behind home really don't seem to have THAT much experience in constructing such a monumental idea, and putting it into motion.
The guys at XBL said it's not possible, and they've constructed a fiercely complex service, let's just hope that Sony can prove them wrong...

That fail still isnt on par with the failure rate of the 360. The 3 year warranty was supposed to be the remedy for RROD, but that failed. Sure you get a replacement, but that replacement is an even more sh1tty refurbished model. The falcon chip also failed as a cure since elites are also prone to RROD. So for all the failure you attribute to Sony the same came be attributed to 360. Failure for producing a failure of a console that still fails 3 years after its been introduced to the market.

They should never have hyped it up so early in the first place. I don't think a lot of us really care about home that much, it's a good extra to have, but no one is waiting impatiently for it.

Now all the PS3 dorks can become interior designers in their own little gay world and leave gaming to a real gamers.
