CSM: Wall-E Wii Review

CSM Writes:

"All is not hunky dory in this video game based on movie geared at young kids. While the first level seems easy enough for kids as young as 7 to play, the difficulty rachets up quickly in the remaining eight levels. Plus the infrequent checkpoints -- the place where the game saves your progress and returns you to that point when you fail -- create a frustration that younger kids might just walk away from. Instructions can, at times, be hard to read because they are flashed too quickly on the screen or are inadequate, and camera angles can be a little tricky when you are trying to figure out where to jump to next. These factors make us set the age appropriateness at 9, instead of the movie's intended audience of younger kids."

Solid line up.

I knew TDU SC eventually come on PS Plus. Glad I cancelled preorder for Astro or instead.
I heard TDU SC was a mess at launch. Did it improve? I'm going to give it a try

This is unrelated to the actual post, but can anyone tell me what happened to this site? It used to be the best place to get news, but now it seems like barely any big news comes through, there's little discussion, and it seems to be dying overall. I know there was awhile where I couldn't access the site, but that's been taken care of for a long time. What happened?

Nyxus100d ago

There are a lot of technical issues and it doesn't seem there are many people left who approve stories, so they take a long time to get approved, if they get approved at all.

Eonjay100d ago

Money. It was sold to someone who wanted to maximize the ad revenue while investing nothing into the actual site. Money killed it.

lodossrage100d ago (Edited 100d ago )

I'll add to what Nyxus and Eonjay said

Another reason is trolls are allowed to run rampant. So the few times discussions might happen, they get derailed fast.
There's also the fact that they're more strict on what gets approved now compared to what they were back in the day.

Site’s been slowly turning to garbage over the past 5 years. It’s currently almost unusable. Full of utter shit adverts covering everything. You cant even access your profile notifications and it’s been like that for what must be over a year now. It really has become an amateur shit show here.

True, I tried opening "my submission" and it opened someone else's list of submissions...

Chocoburger99d ago

An endless amount of rude trolls, along with terrible and inconsistent moderation. I once got banned for saying S***, but then there are other people who can drop F-bombs and not get banned. Mods also punish the wrong people often, just stupidity all around. I stopped submitting stories and I rarely comment these days due to the lack of proper moderation.

Always thought this was just a Sony pony troll site lol. But it used to be nuts. I used to check this site every day same as siliconera. I do still check here and there but yeah ain’t what it used to be

Love the article description!

Also someone had the foresight to put Neva on there... and monter hunter Stories. Solid additions all around.

They had a strong classic library last year, I don't hope they plan to double down on disney releases again this year, like they've done before.

Disney/Pixar’s Wall*E - A Refreshing Use of a License

Licensed games are all rubbish, right? Well, THQ's take on Disney/Pixar’s Wall*E would like to argue that point.

gamerz1040d ago

Took me a min to figure out this is a review of a 2008 game. I love Wall*E and this looks interesting so added it to my Steam wishlist. Thanks!

A Look Back at Disney Games on PlayStation Handhelds

VGChartz's Adam Cartwright: "There are few brands out there that have anything like the appeal and recognition of Disney. Thanks to decades of beautiful and critically acclaimed animated films, the company is a household name that has expanded beyond just movies to include a variety of other ventures, including videogames. Disney has also grown its lineup considerably in recent years by acquiring Marvel, Pixar, and Star Wars (although for the purposes of this article, I’ll only be covering Disney/Pixar output).

Thanks to their broad audience, Disney games usually show up on every viable platform out there, meaning that despite the brand’s affinity with Nintendo’s younger-skewing audience, both the PSP and Vita received a number of titles throughout their lives. Some of this was through Disney's own developer/publisher (Disney Interactive Studios), but the firm also licensed out its IPs for other companies to try their hand at – with somewhat mixed results."
