Review: Oculus Rift - Destructoid

Destructoid: I will never forget my first experience with virtual reality. I was at a county fair as a child, and there was a large line for a "virtual NASCAR" racing game. I took one look at the helmet, and that's all I needed to see -- I wanted in. Of course, reality took hold of me after actually getting into the enclosure, and was far less impressive than my imagination. The tech simply wasn't there, and I felt like I was just wearing a TV on my head.

Lol I hear you. With the recent reviews VR the medium will push gaming as we've known it forward, it won't replace traditional gaming but it will enhance it in ways that we thought weren't possible 5 or 10 years ago.

But the best benefit being realized right now is that the reviews so far are adamantly stressing that VR is definitely not a gimmick. As so many are almost hoping it will be. On top of that it's already garnering massive support from the industry as a whole, which means it's only a matter of time before we start seeing "The Biggest Developers" releasing "The Biggest AAA Games"!

I think we're in for a unforgettable journey!

That's fine. GT7 would overshadow it anyway at it has open wheel and regular cars.

Should have been spending their time updating Squadrons with better resolution, frame rate, haptics, etc as there isn't a game like that on PS VR 2 yet.

But it's EA. They don't think.

Babadook71117d ago

I agree. It would sell better on PSVR2 right now.

A wasted opportunity, but I don't buy EA / Codemasters stuff anyway. Grid Legends just came out on Plus and I haven't touched it. Why would I when I have GT7 and PSVR2?

Abnor_Mal1117d ago

Not into F1 racing, but still a missed opportunity.

ApocalypseShadow1117d ago

That's where opportunity presents itself that they could offer something else that other developers haven't offered yet. Yeah. There's No Man's Sky. But a space game with a story would be great. Like the old days with Colony Wars.

Abnor_Mal1117d ago

Exactly, they could have possibly lured more players just from the inclusion of a vr mode.

I miss Colony wars and G-Police, Low-Fi I hope will scratch that itch when it releases. We also need a vr War/Starhawk game.

Just watched the trailer of Low-Fi. Most definitely on my radar.
