Yes, Kraenk. I have tried it.
And I was just simply not as impressed with it as so many others are.
I don't consider it innovative in the least. At best, it replicates what I can already experience without it using a game with a good enough story.

AR it's been a gimmick so far, PSP/PSV/3DS have been doing it for a while but no one takes it seriously because you are limited by your surrounding.

The only company who's trying to make it big now is Nintendo with Pokémon Go, but you're supposed to play it on your smartphone and use it while walking outside. Not the kind of game you can play in your room.

VR, however, allows you to be immersed in a world, without having to get out of your room. I am sorry, but it's absolutely different from being in a dark room with a 3D screen. VR plays with your senses, you move your head around and you see what you're supposed to see, an enemy attacks you and your brain reacts to that.

What VR headset did you try? Did you try any racing game/fps optimized for VR?

This is the point one friend of mine in particular makes, and he only plays cheap PC games and Nintendo 3DS.

It makes no sense, I live alone and play games by myself. When I lived with my family, I mostly played games alone, by myself. I sometimes have friends over and we play games together. That is 5% of my gaming life. Why would the singular experience be a turnoff? You can still play online with other people, on PS4 people around you will still be able to see what's going on and even interact with the game thanks to the external box that splits the image.

@Omega, Sony has been workign on their VR for over 10 years. Oculus just made the first PR meeting about it.
