Depends on the individual , as for me am not a Sony consumer of any kind so Rift may be the one i get into .

BossBattle3771d ago

I feel eventually xbox games will work with the Oculus Rift thru Windows 10.

Ricegum3771d ago

Nah. I highly doubt Microsoft will invest any money into any decent VR games. If you mean play existing Xbox One games on a PC through a VR virtual screen then maybe, although that's not proper VR.

BossBattle3771d ago (Edited 3771d ago )

@Unreal01 it only makes sense. MS is trying to expand Xbox/Windows gaming and they already have a partnership with Oculus. Money has never been an issue for MS. They can invest in whatever, whenever they want. They don't really have to invest in the VR headset so that saves resources. Just focus on games. Especially if VR seems profitable even as a quick gimmick for the moment. It could only help both Oculus and MS. I mean MS is already allowing crossplay with other platforms. So they're willing to work with others. MS is good for improvising. Mark my words, save this page, and watch them do that.

I made a joke about how porn will be smooth with 60fps in PS VR and I was marked as immature.

Is it just me or N4G is run by a bunch of Christian fanatics?.

PistolsAtDawn3771d ago

...the crazy thing is that a lot of products owe their success/failure due to the adaption of Porn...so maybe in the long run PSVR setting the maturity filter on their device could hurt.

Psychotica3771d ago

Did you know Christianity isn't the only religion?

WelkinCole3771d ago

Yeah ofcourse but my experience sofar is with Christians and also some feminist.

Even just joking about it is not even allowed?.

We have become a society of babies.

MRMagoo1233771d ago

I was using a specific "adult" site on my gear VR and it is definitely better than on a normal screen lol so I agree. My wife does too as a matter of fact

AgentSmithPS43771d ago

If I can't get boobs and buttocks on PSVR I'll simply buy a different VR the next time. It's wrong for any company to treat adults like children by censoring etc. If you don't like it don't buy it...

Am I right to assume we can probably get adult content somehow, even if we have to buy it from a less extremist country?

I hope both succeed and I see advantaged to each. It'll be rough in the first gen because you're trying to make stuff that is accessible due to price, but still a quality product. At this point it seems to me that Rift is the better product with better library of games, so I'm leaning more that way myself, but I can see PSVR doing really well due to the fact that it's much more attainable to the average gamer, and therefore will get the most support off the bat. I think 2nd gen is more when we will see things start to shape up...and that's when VR will really start to shine IMO...right now (esp on PSVR) it seems mostly just like "half-games" and tech demos, with games being compromised in order to run in VR....by Gen 2 I see that going away.

Seems like what people really want is the option to turn any game they own into a true VR experience if they wish....and it's just not quite there yet....but knocking on the door.

Ricegum3771d ago

You're leaning towards the Rift because you are an Xbox fan and you hate on anything Sony related. Just tell the truth man.

Anyway, I definitely think VR is going to be the most successful out of the three.

Bathyj3771d ago

Thats completely subjective and down to the individual but I know PSVR will be better for more gamers, not that that matters. You all know my opinion that all the players are on the VR train together.

Scatpants3771d ago

If money is the only issue, you're right. If overall quality of the experience is your key issue you're better off with the Rift or Vive.

Bathyj3771d ago

Again completely subjective and down to the individual. Money is not the only issue at all. I prefer ease of use, fixed platform, optimised games. Basically all the reasons I prefer consoles over PC.

As for over all quality, many have said PSVR is smoother because it has a higher refresh rate as well as the games being less demanding (and optimized to a fixed platform) and has less screendoor effect.

Besides the value of this unit is going to be the games I can play on it and since I know I'll be getting Gran Turismo and Ace Combat among others, thats really the main issue.

jonivtec3771d ago (Edited 3771d ago )

Game must be compatible with all headset or its an imminent kinect like failure...Im in for VR but i will wait and see before i pull the trigger on a 600$ toy and look it sleep on my desk.

Are a bunch of games, some of which are nearly 10 years old not one being from 2026. Barely one from 2025.

I do like the irony of the closing paragraph though, "Why VR Adventure Games are Thriving". Really buddy?

mooreneco2193d ago

That’s because it’s his favourite VR adventure games thus far, a great game always a great game regardless of age - Half life 2/ Ocarina of time - are old but still among the greatest games of all time. The irony of it is several are from last year, depending on platform, have you even played VR?
