The Game Convention in Leipzig, advertised as the biggest gaming event of the year, underwhelmed with its poor showing from the majority of the gaming console world, which proved to be a good thing for Sony.
This would have been the perfect opportunity to grab back the gaming worlds attention with some news on the much maligned Sony Home. The lack of annoucements over the year must be growing more and more irritating to the fans who showed their support in adapting the future proof system, only to find that so far the future is yet to arrive.
A strong, active Sony is good for gaming in general. With Microsoft 'innovating' through very Wii-like ideas the consoles are getting a little samey. We need Sony to step up and bring something new to the table, for all gamers on all platforms. We know they can do it... But when?

Square Enix launches Final Fantasy X 25th anniversary site, revealing new Nomura art, books, music releases, and merchandise.
Look I know VIII has its issues and all that but how on earth can the do big anniversary events with new artwork and merchandise for VII, IX and X yet VIII got sweet f*** all.
They could have given it something during its 25th anniversary yet all it got was a single Happy Anniversary post on their social media.

A brutal reset, a smarter story, and a return to what made it great—Mortal Kombat (2011) revived the series.
15 years went by so fast. I remember playing through the story mode at launch.

Why did Sony push Shuhei Yoshida out of his role leading PlayStation's first-party games? He'd overseen some huge successes. Well, apparently, he didn't listen.
Yeah I can see that for sure. Shuhei Yoshida should have been in charge not Jim Ryan.
More confirmation that Jim Ryan is the culprit for what has happened to Sony. Hulst needs to go too. What sucks is that a lot of the good top heads at Sony are no longer there. I wish that guys that were forced out prematurely by Dumbo Jimbo like Shuhei and Layden came back.
Makes you wonder if MS even thought about hiring him after Phil and Sarah were leaving. He certainly couldn't make their situation any worse.
All the gamer/consumer lead heads are gone across PS and Xbox. shuhei gone phil's gone (questionable) but gone. The future of gaming is somewhat uncertain across the board.
they would've won regardless. What was Microsoft going to show or announce, a new multiplatform game? What was nintendo going to do, bring out more plastic junk they'll package with games? A wii-laloop for instance.
Please, if Microsoft isn't shadowing Sony's every move, nintendo is making stupid moves to overshadow them both with worthless add ons no one uses.
I'll take a victory either way. Because they show up and get thumped, or cower out of fear knowing they have already lost Europe and/or have nothing to bring to the fight and thus run and hide.
Saying MS and Nintendo let them win or let them have it are the sure words of a loser.

Littlebigplanet?
i was hoping for a Home release date though =[ does Sony still have some announcements? Cuz, Home would be as big as Heavy Rain
