I would say Halo 5 is the best multiplayer fps this gen. As far gameplay goes it depends on the preference, many people prefer realistic gameplay over arena styel.

But the sheer content and customizable options in Halo 5 is unmatched right now.

Nothing, touches BF4, Halo 5 doesn't even come close.

Arguments over publisher deadlines make no difference the landscape has changed in gaming two years is enough time (three year life cycle for gears three and...). EA might have had them working on too much but Bethesda for example allows smaller teams to publish titles while not stretching their teams too thin, in essence the quality over quantity. Same thing happened with Mass Effect the explosive second chapter gave way to a less pronounced third and final. EA could have stayed with sport titles and naughty dawg with the crash series.

Not for a new game. If you're talking CoD or Battlefield, where they have the work flow and formula down to a science, then yeah I guess, but even then you have issues like the questionable quality of Battlefield 4's launch and the general redundancy of both of them. Any fool can figure out how to wash a dish faster but quality needs room to breed.
