No Man's Sky creator: Blockbuster games 'predictable'

Sean Murray's upcoming game No Man's Sky is one of the most talked about releases of recent years.

Overload3732d ago (Edited 3731d ago )

I absolutely love this guy and No Man's Sky has recently achieved my personal most anticipated of 2016 award.

What I recently found out that I found super interesting, is that he was the Creative Director on Burnout 3.

Edit: I made a mistake, he was Technical Lead on Burnout 3 and Black.

Yeah it's definately my most anticipated game so far, even beating out Uncharted 4.

thanks for letting us know :D

Where do you see that he was the Creative Director for Burnout 3? I'm only seeing he was a programmer for it.

Overload3731d ago (Edited 3731d ago )

Sorry, Technical Lead.

"Tech Director at Kuju and worked lots of games including Burnout 3 and Black at Criterion as a Technical Lead."

I confused Tech Director with Creative Director, my mistake.

He was Technical Lead on Black also.

No problem. I was just curious since I always thought he was just a programmer. Interesting to know he was a Technical Director and Lead!

Overload3731d ago

I didn't know about Black, that's pretty crazy.

Talk to Sony, to make a good marketing (tv ad) for casual gamers.
And you and Sony will see this game sell millions easily!

We spend billions of dollars just to send a robot to mars, I think that is pretty damn ambitous, so that being said, a game like this is much more to me than the cliche battlefield on a screen.

I just hope this game can keep me wanting more, it looks to be amazing and very innovative.
Best of luck to them, i really hope it does well.

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Jingsing30d ago

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Tanktopmaster9230d ago

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit30d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing30d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9230d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
