Pre orders (for the most part) don't hurt the consumer at all either. But can pre order at best buy or Amazon and they don't take any of my money until the game ships. I can cancel at anytime. This isn't giving publishers any money before a game launches. I pre order because I want release date shipping. Maybe I don't want to drive to my nearest store to pick up a game. Or maybe I'm working all day and the last thing I want is to have to stop somewhere on the way home. Pre-ordering isn't just for the "incentives" for me, it's convenience.

I usually save my pre-order powers for the Collector Editions of games that I know will love (Metal Gear Solid 4, Dark and Demon Souls, Catherine and Shin Megami Tensei 4 were the last 4 games I did this.) I will do the same for Persona 5 but haven't found any other title that caught my eye.

I can't speak for the rest of Europe, but here in Belgium you don't pay anything for preorders. So I fail to see disadvantages.

Also I pre-order for one simple reason: there's a discount on a game i was already going to buy. So basically I'm saving money. In fact I have no idea why they do this because as far as the company is concerned with me I'm getting their new game at a discount when I would have paid the $60

Preordering a game is purely because they want to show how much commitment they can give to their favorite series. It doesn't matter if it has preorder bonuses or what, people just have a natural urge to want to show how much they are into something. So spending $150 is nothing to them just like preordering a game is.

Speak for yourself but I've always been happy being able to pre-order a game and have it delivered to my house in the morning on the day of release.

Meh, if I enjoy a game from a developer, you can bet that ill keep pre-ordering their games.

Yea I'll pre-order whatever I want, hell I'll buy whatever I want too. Not pre-ordering a game won't change what it will become. Just because you don't like the end product doesn't mean I won't like it.

We live in this world where we believe in not censoring, freedom of choice, etc. Yet, we have people on here trying to dictate what we do just to fulfill their agenda? Seems a bit hypocritical to me. How about this, you don't pre-order the game and let the rest of us decide what we want to do? Oh, and just for the record I pre-order like a mo'fo' so deal with it.

I never have and I never will. Anyone who buys a product without learning all they can know about it beforehand is by definition ignorant. But hey, if you feel so strongly about being able to spend your money whenever and however you want, it's your money so feel free.

i wont stop pre ordering ganes as long as amazon keeps giving me a discount. that being said, for most games i wait until they come down in price. but i will continue to pre order my must have games.
