Lynden Lab's Second Life virtual world was so popular that people were investing in virtual real estate and making significant sums of money off their investments. This was in the glory days last year and in 2006. Now the virtual world is bleeding users fast, and there doesn't seem to be a way to hemorrhage the problem.

Microsoft announced its financial results for Q3 of fiscal year 2026, including an update on its gaming Xbox business and more.

Spiders: "We're going to cut straight to the chase so you're not left wondering: After a long period without clear answers, we have received confirmation that Spiders is being liquidated.
What does it mean? This means the company as a whole no longer exists. We'll cease our functions immediately. The planned DLC will release via Nacon, and then-- well, that's it.
We're sorry that it's come to this and would like to thank each and every one of you for your support over the years.
If you have any questions or run into issues with your games, please contact Nacon directly as we'll no longer be able to reply."

Now PS Home, is a different story. Its catered around socialization of gaming, there are rules, it is hacker proof, you wont be seeing anything that made Second life a turd.
Owned by Home

It's not for gaming, business, nor is it unified enough to become the ultimate 3D Social Networking app.
Excellent news and perhaps this even bodes well for how unsuccessfull Home will be
I like the idea of Home but i also have a short enough life as it is to be wasting it in some fake world. In stints yes but there are some genuine saddos that live in these places
Mind you i doubt it will be forced anyway which is good
