I'm not saying that backers are wrong to be angry, but they're acting like this update is the first they've heard of Dr McNinja being cancelled. Backers seem to find the fact that they're trying a new project to be a slap in the face. I was particularly disgusted by a comment from Chris Hastings, the writer and artist of the Dr McNinja comic who essentially kicks the developers while they are down by asking them to remove the update."

Stephanie Smith writes: "We can contrast this to the Dr. McNinja Kickstarter. This Kickstarter went silent for about 2 years after they hit trouble. Before that, they had been updating fairly regularly, but their absence fostered resentment. It reached such a point that even when the developers issued an apology and explain they had been made homeless, backers still ripped into them. "
A lot of people just have jacked up expectations when it comes to kickstarter.

Stephanie Smith writes: "Fat Cat Gameworks released an apology on their Kickstarter page in the form of the reply they were going to send Kotaku (The Kotaku article claimed that they hadn't responded, but was later updated to include a small snippet). It is a sad story, but essentially the game does seem unlikely to come out since the developers are currently homeless. It seems rather shocking what happened to them, but it was a mix of too much ambition and forces beyond their control."
I understand being upset, but the backers are being sucks.
