I said the same thing in the other article XD

Who's at Sony is responsible for the PS App I wonder...

Fez3747d ago

Why do we need two apps for the functionality provided? I dislike when providers do this, there has to be some duplication of code and resources taking up memory and power on your phone. No need to make us download different apps when they could be incorporated together.

gamer78043747d ago

agreed, it should be an all in one app.

Joe9133747d ago

I thought the same thing but then I found myself only going into the ps app to message so I now have just ps app on my tablet (for play room and buying games) and the message app on my phone.

fei-hung3747d ago

I hate having 2 apps when the one app worker perfectly fine. It's the dumbest decision they have made on the app.

Skate-AK3747d ago

There must be some reason, we just don't know what. I don't see Facebook and Sony doing it for no reason.

MAULxx3747d ago

It sucks since it was split into two separate apps.

Introducing a new way to invite PS5 players into your multiplayer sessions

Playstation writes: "Today, we’re excited to share that in the coming months, we’ll introduce the ability for you to generate a shareable link on your PS5 console or on PlayStation App, and send it to other PS5 players through any messaging or social media platform. By opening the link, the recipient will be able to hop into your multiplayer session even if they aren’t already friends with you on PlayStation Network."

Sounds like it opens the floodgates for more Dr Disrespect-likes.

Also, a Google Stadia feature that was never implemented but was spoken about in a way such that streamers could invite viewers into their game with just a link.

Creepy and encourages creeps to be even creepier.

It's just an optional way to make it easier to invite people into groups for multiplayer...

Ps always had a good app. you can buy dlc, for instance, and have it ready when you get home,
check status of friends online,
use the phones keypad to type messages quicker (now ps5 has a mic in controller and voice recognition, that advantage goes away somewhat)

They dont advertise some of their stuff very well in my opinion

Just to add on to what you said.

You also can buy full and PS+ games and start them remotely and even access your whole library and set anything you own to download remotely. You can even manage your storage and delete games from the console, M.2, and USB.

Pretty handy.

Another thing Sony should do in their app is purchase-related too. On the system, you can buy a game even if you "own" it through your PS+ membership (whether it's through Premium or the Monthlies). In the app though, you don't have that capability - only to Download to Console if it isn't already installed.

The program has been incredibly popular, some of the collectables are pretty cool too. I like the ones for classic PlayStation hardware that you owned like the exact PS3 models you had VITA PSP PS4 models, as well as characters from games that you often get from the "Hard Game Challenge" are pretty fun too.

Hopefully they add it to the PS5 dashboard, apparently it's in the works.
