Multiplayer should be free on PSN and Xbox regardless.

Microsoft be like "give us billions of dollars and we will make it free".

same goes for plus, make MP at least free :3 i don't use the other stuff really ...

One week of more trouble than usual and we're getting articles like this. Call me when it's a regular problem. Not that it matters because I'm but one of a huge sample but mine's been fine all week.

I would actually like to see MS update XBLG and drop the MP component so its free at base level putting it on par with PC users. Maybe add in perks for PC users specifically if they want to upgrade to Gold.. maybe include a base level of the music and on-demand service as part of the package. Start including a PC game in the month...make BC 360 emulation available to PC XBLG users...basically create an eco system that is more seamless and comparable across Win 10 and Xbox One. Give PC gamers a reason to want to sign up to XBLG and not have be "pay for online MP".

It's already better than PSN that's enough of a reason to charge gamers.

As soon as PSN is free. . we can discuss Live being free ^_^

The service will never be free because the majority still pay for it. A small hiccup isn't going to make the majority not pay.

I vote for better xbl. I'd rather put in the money to get better fun time with friends. But the current state is absolute sh!t, can't even play with others properly.

It would be nice if XBL was free but complaining about paying $5.00/month for a service that also gives you 'free' games is just whining. If you can't afford $5.00/month, then you need to get a new hobby.

I really have an issue with the pricing scheme of Xbox Live Gold in comparison to PlayStation Plus.

It currently costs $25 for 3 months and $60 for 1 year of access to XBLG.

It currently costs $18 for 3 months and $50 for 1 year of access to PS+.

What is with Microsoft's online service being a lot more expensive than Sony's when it doesn't even have that many more features?

I too wish they could be both be free, but at this point it'd be a fruitless effort trying to convince these big companies why they should skip on potential profits. At least we get "free games" mostly on both services.

The time for this conversation was when Live first started charing for online play. If enough people would have stood up and said we are not paying for it, we wouldn't be in this position.

That time has long past. We are stuck paying for online play now on consoles and they will NEVER give up that revenue stream. I did my part by not supporting Live, but too many willingly supported it. We can all thank MS and their loyal customers for bringing this sickness to consoles.

Game over, we lost. Just another reminder that we as consumers hold the power to shape our hobby, but we are too shortsighted to work together. It is happening again right now with DLC, micro transactions, and pre-order crap. Years from now people will be complaining about that stuff to, but again, too late to change it at that point.

seriously if you are paying 60 for live you are doing it wrong. cdkeys always has a sale on it for 45 sometimes as low at 35. hell they even have one for 2 years for 65 dollars.

it would take a major problem on lives part for it to even lower prices. maybe getting hacked like sony back then.

If it were a common occurrence, i'd say yeah complain but really nothings perfect. If you can do better on the service put your IT skills to good use and go work for MS.

I don't mind paying but yeas please make it better.
