Actually, I'm playing in my PC a lot, thanks to the emulators. SNES/Mega Drive/PSX + filters is awesome. Also, I can play a lot of underrated games from PS2/GameCube.

Consoles are more convenient though as even a plug and play PC can now and again run into more problems than a console eventually (in part due to user level with them but sometimes just game/driver based). That and initial price is the main advantages of consoles however.

However fixes for PC are usually faster coming and can often be resolved on your own or with a third party (say a local PC shop if you don't know pcs yourself). If a console messes up you are often out of luck or have to send it back or buy a new one (or a part and install it yourself which defeats the purpose of consoles really but that's how technology works--sometimes it fails no matter what).

Overall, yes PCs can be "better" but that doesn't mean everyone needs one or even wants one.

I've always preferred consoles. Started gaming with consoles with the sega genesis/ fat Gameboy and had the most good memories with consoles. There are masterpieces on PC like Counter Strike 1.6 and Team Fortress 2, but to me consoles always had the better games. Plus PC never had a floodload of Japanese games like consoles do. It's just a personal preference. When I game on a console, I have immense fun no distractions. On a PC there's too many things distracting me from finishing a game.

The PS4 has broken worldwide records in regards to video game sales in both hardware and software. The world has chosen what it wants. In the real world, many people have hard jobs/lifestyles and in such do not want to think about these things just to play a video game after coming home from work/school.

*Fixing computer hardware
*Building a computer by themselves
*Maintaining the strength of the computer so it can keep up with what the games demand
*Keeping malicious programs/software away from their computers

Also,you can't even resale PC games at all. Many people like myself prefer physical copies of games.

Just remember PC people, High powered hardware means nothing if it's not appealing to the mainstream in convenient and consumer friendly ways.

Well, I cant game AND work on my PS4. Nor can I emulate old school games. Nor can I mod games, nor even play older games...... It truly illustrated the insanity of console fanboys that there can even be an argument about this considering these data.

Too many variables left out here and it really comes down to each individual case.

Personally i use my PC, tablet, and PS4 for different reasons.

Is this is trick question? If you have a capable PC rig, yes.

If no, like most of the population, then play your games on consoles. Simple as that.

If you pay more, you generally get more (atlest you should hope to).

But the fact remains...Its economically impossible to get a PC that beats a console for the same price and thats why there are more console gamers than PC games with PC's that perform better than consoles.

The only people really losing out are the people who dont shop around for the best priced parts and end up paying twice as much for a PC that barely stays on par with consoles for maybe 1 or 2 years in the generation... then they have to spend even more upgrading.

Both PC and console are better depending how you look at it

PC - to stay on par with graphics and performance you usually have to upgrade every few years.

Console - every game is made what the console already has and you don't have to worry upgrades at all unless you want a bigger HDD.

From a games perspective PC games are hell of lot cheaper then console games. consoles take forever to go on sales, PC games go on sale all the time or go down very quickly, i have picked up some many games i have played on console for like 5 bucks and some of those come from site like humblebundle and bundlestars which offer very good bundle packages for pc game most of the time.

Once I went PC I barely went back to console gaming. But I can tell you now it's not for everyone. I love getting under the hood and adjusting things. Most people pay other people to do that kind of stuff for them though.

Despite all the things a PC can do, the human element is its biggest disadvantage; and its a fatal one in many regards. I'm not just referring to the maintenance and know how.

Considering that a PC allows one to explore all the vast reaches of the internet much easier and faster with its keyboard and mouse combination, the temptation to just go to youtube or an ungodly amount of other websites can rule over a gaming urge quite easily. It's thought of as impractical to do that on a console though. You can go to the internet and surf on a console, but it's not as easy or quick with a controller.

It's true that you can do so many more things on a PC, but there are other temptations besides gaming all competing together on a PC. That's rarely ever the case with a console with the exception of netflix or movies, but you can also do that on a PC.

I think we all agree, PCs are more powerful than consoles, but as my tastes go, consoles are good enough, and I am fine with that.

A disadvantage would be portability. You won't find people traveling with their desktops very often. Sure, there are gaming laptops but they don't outnumber desktop PCs.

Without a doubt, PC is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better. Heck, my laptop performs better than both PS4 and X1 on multiplat games.

The short answer is yes. The long answer is no, unless the game is specifically developed for the PC. The limitations of the consoles end up hurting the end product for PC gamers unless the developers work on a PC version and then port it to consoles, but in most cases, if its developed for consoles and then ported to the pc, its typically pretty terrible, but of course there are exceptions.

The argument of PC vs. Console is comparable to the argument of Android vs. iOS.

Android is almost completely open and you can do nearly everything you want on it, but the openness comes at the price of having far more technical and compatibility issues.

iOS on the other hand is designed to take care of the complications and and streamline everything for the user while at the same time offering features that just work right, almost every single time.

At the end of the day, when you're using them for gaming, they both really do the same thing. Other than exclusives, the games have identical features and mechanics.

Since most people are going to invest in a PC to do non-gaming things it makes more sense just to spend some extra money that would be spent on a console and get a good gaming PC that can do both.

Pc has the more powerful hardware when you compare high end machines. But the issue is most people don't have high end machines. When a developer creates a game for pc, they have to make sure they have someone to sell it to. The only way to do this is to make your game playable on lower spec hardware. So it doesn't matter if you have the best graphics card out if your playing the same game that can be played on a relatively weak pc. They unfortunately have to play it safe. But console is safe, it puts high spec hardware in the hands of the masses allowing devs to spread their wings creatively without worrying about alienating potential customers with lesser hardware. This is why you are seeing most pc games being ported from their console counterparts. The publishers are thinking hey we have the console sales regardless so if they upgrade or not we're okay.

As cost and size continue to drop it eventually will be.

PC seems like the big winner this gen especially. Consoles have mostly been multiplatforms with no real system seller to speak of yet.

Multiplatforms are always better on a gaming PC (even broken Arkham Knight still ran 80fps at 1080p) for me PC seems to be nabbing the good games from both camps, plus still getting it's own exclusives.

Free online, cheap games, better framerate and graphics, free remasters and BC, Faster loading, choose any controller and mods.

The best part is a decent gaming rig is fairly cheap now days if you only want to run 60fps @ 1080p. Most low end GPU's can now push out those frames.

Of course PC is and will always be the best you can't arguing with that. If it is graphics or backwards compatibility to your games of 30 years ago, or modding, emulating or anything else you name it and you can do it with your PC. The Pc is the better gaming choice in my opinion. There's a larger range of games, based from FPS, to RPG, to keyboard and mouse based, MMO's and so on.

I love to play my PC a lot more than I do. But it's usually left collecting dust for a few reasons.
It's easier to get distracted from gaming on my PC, there's a lot of other things I could do, be productive and edit, read up news for gaming and so on. Also, a lot of my friends never put the money into their own rigs, so they are left out.

I'd rather play with friends I know in person, compared to jumping onto a game with scrubs.

I tend to play my PS4 a lot more, since it's a lot easier to pick up and play a game. It's less likely I'd get distracted while on the Ps4. Plus my friends own the latest Gen, so there is more times I'm going to get a game with people I know over a PC, where I feel like a stranger in the lobby.

PC gaming will always be top, from the stand point of graphics, power, and the lack of any limitations it has. Console gaming does just as well, but it will never be able to check off the huge lists that the PC can.

GTX 970 4gb 6700K 16gb DDR vs my PS4 and I always find myself on the couch with the PS4. Nice large sofa, giant TV, more social; simple to jump on and is the center of the family room.

I love downloading demo's and tweaking the settings to see what the PC can do, but the differences are not so substantial. Console software saavy is already getting much sharper as they always do using the same hardware for what 6-8 years? There's just something great about buying hardware that lasts so long and keeps getting better looking over time until the end of it's life. By then, the next gen console is out and the debate continues...

Tell me again how the multiplatform strategy was supposed to fix everything. Look at your results and compare them to Nintendo, which keeps thriving with exclusives. Your loyal fans are gone. And let’s not forget the pile of IPs you purchased only to let them rot.

The worst thing is this is down from last years numbers/expectations which was down from the previous years numbers/expectations. You think about how long “down” has been a consistent part of the communication and you realize those subscriptions are what’s holding that boat together. The price cut of gamespass is still a price raise in a string of price raises. They are trying to use players to offset the missing revenue. Now call of duty is out of gamespass, which is literally WHY they bought the company. To draw people to the subscription. They realized they missed a boatload of money and that wasn’t sustainable. Now you pay for it like you would have if they never bought the company… so why buy the company? Mind you those billions still need to be paid back. Yeah it gives you a chance to say we make the biggest FPS… but the internal conversations must be brutal at high level on topics that really matter. Like revenue. Profitability. And ROI for the shopping spree.

Wuchang is great. Nine Sols didn’t have a physical copy so I never played it but I’ve heard good things so I will check it out. I stopped playing sports games many years ago when before the card dlc’s or whatever they’re called.
