The only thing on this list that is correct is the controls. True enough, Destiny had some of the best gunplay I have ever experienced in a game. But the rest of the article is a load of horse****

Varied enemies? They recycled the enemies in the taken king.

Varied locations? Not really.

Listened to fans? When? When have they listened to fans? Besides the nerfing of guns, they have not listened to one single fan.

Oh, and all of the locations, all of the planets look like they just dropped crap in random places. They all looked very cheap.

I'm not trying to defend the division, because in reality, there is about as much variation in enemies in that game than Destiny. The city is beautiful and can be explored for hours. You have the ability to explore different buildings and underground areas.

Seraphim3751d ago

indeed. the mechanics and game were spot on in Destiny

In regards to enemies. I think they're referring to the fact that there were different enemies. Granted it was still limited. With The Division you have what? Running around killing nothing but humans? Or will there be infected that become monsters, abominations, perhaps something like clickers in Last of Us? While Bungie didn't create enough variations and enemies in the grand scheme of things there was some variation through year one in the different Fallen, Vex, Cabal.

Varied Locations. yeah this is a tough one. Bungie did set out Planets in Destiny but they were nothing more than small plots of a hundred acres with little to do or explore. So The Division could learn from this and ensure there are enough locations, buildings, places to roam, explore, to go so players maintain an interest.

Listened to Fans. Bungie definitely listened to fans. Unfortunately they listened far too much and tried far too hard to please all fans. Instead of putting their foot down they listened to the whiners and in turn alienated some true fans and continuously ruined the game. Had they truly listened to the fans and made real adjustments 20 of my friends including myself would likely still be playing. You can't argue Bungie didn't listen because they did. The problem is they listened to the wrong group and tried far too hard to please everyone. To some extent anyway because we all know Dedicated Servers are the one thing we all want for solid PVP because as it stands the game borders unplayable to incredibly frustrating most of the time.

Unfortunately these two games are getting thrown into the same category all too much. While to some degree they may be similar the fact is they are incredibly different games. Not only that but the game modes and what each has to offer is incredibly different. Personally I see Destiny offering more with Raids, Strikes, bounties, a solid & fun PvP that would have been awesome with dedicated servers, etc. I fear that The Division might lack longevity and grinding the map or dark zone might grow tiresome and old rather quickly. I hope I'm wrong and as some didn't like Destiny others will find that despite my views that is what they love about The Division. Got of point. I just wish people would stop comparing the two because they are incredibly different

1 thing they need to learn from Destiny... Have enough content to last more than a month without forcing too much repetition. They should have learned that from Destiny's failure. Plenty of people are anticipating the game and will play it alot in the first week... If people can blow through all the content very quickly it will face the same criticisms Destiny did.

The problem is, Destiny wasn't a failure financially. The Division would love to make the money that Destiny did. Therefore, there really a mistake on Destiny's part as far as a lack of content or anything.

If Destiny made that much money with small, recycled and cheap content then the division will too.

Which is sadly my greatest concern with the division. It was fun but seemed super repetitive like destiny.

Don't lock your best weapons and gear behind multiplayer. Destiny didn't do that and thats a big key why it has lasted so long.

Khaotic3751d ago (Edited 3751d ago )

Ummm yes destiny did. Year 1 best weapons, fatebringer, found verdict preadthys timepiece and revenge, vision of confluence, corrective measure and mythocast. Not to mention the exotics that xur rarely sold "gjallerhorn" and the only way to obtain those were multi-player events. Raids pop or nightfalls. Night falls and raids may have been pve but the are MULTIPLAYER coop modes. I obtained every year 1 and 2 exotic along with all raid weapons and loved destiny till I realized bungie probably won't ever manage this IP correctly. But I am sick of hearing that comparison cause it's totally WRONG

objdadon3750d ago

No, the way to obtain those were from raids, not pvp.i had the ghorn in my second week playing from a random strike.

Khaotic3750d ago (Edited 3750d ago )

Raid is still multiplayer and I don't care how you spin it.. Gjorn wasn't in strike loot tables. Pvp, raid, nightfall the data miners proved that. I mean everybody says the y had it second week now and never used it. It took me little over 3 months of nightfalls and raiding to get mine right after dark below. Same week I got fatebringer. I would have to see proof

Seriously,if anyone thinks this is better than Destiny you need a new hobby lol.
Just played for a bit on the X1,it really looked like a generic Ubisoft game.

I'm back to Destiny and CoD,now i know why Jade Raymond said " I believe we can do more with tripple-A budgets " and this game really shows why she said that.

Khaotic3751d ago (Edited 3751d ago )

Dude destiny is this worst managed IP I have ever loved. It's pvp is crap lag fest and for every expansion they made previous content not relevant. I can say this because after The Kings Fall raid and the stupid drop system and 1400 hours played with 12 trips to mercury and 100's of completed raids I got fed up with bungies nonsense. And for you to throw cod in there to while slamming a game for trying to be creative...well your impossible to take serious.

Gwiz3751d ago

I never said that COD was creative,if anything it copied a few class upgrades from Destiny and that's it.

Gwiz3748d ago

I had a point about needing a new hobby though,1400 hours?.
Then ANY game turns sour. There's not many games out there that will give you more than that.

Khaotic3747d ago

You don't have a point you have arrogant opinions that you word in such a way that if people disagree then they are stupid. I get it nobody listens to you in real life so you found a way to compensate here. Whatever, I don't know, I'm done even replying after this. good luck in life if this is the way you talk to everybody.

alfcrippinjr3751d ago
